This exists. You can leave notes on every enemy base in war and CWL. Clanmates will see little envelopes next to the bases with notes added
No not really. If i want to lay out a general strategy like hit 0-3 down or something I can't do that on every base.
I use the base notes as suggested armies or things to be aware of in the base like look out for this or that.
What I am asking for is a banner of sorts to post a general message for a strategy.
Clan mail works exceptionally well for this purpose. There really isn't any need for a secondary message system specific to CW
There's no guarantees either will be read. That's part of clan culture which leadership should foster.
Clan mail works, but not exceptionally well. It is limited by one mail per account per hour, and by number of characters. It would be better if were were much less waiting time between messages. I would prefer a large free-text tab, where I can edit the message, the strategy, as the war develops.
That's why co can send clan mail. Esp as Leaders can't be online 24/7 during wars.
I prepare messages in a text based app then cut and paste. We use ranks in our active roster vs opponent roster and it's very brief. In CWL it often says "Same as yesterday". We've used this system since clan war inception.
Not 100% sure but I think a free form notice box is ruled out
Co-Leaders sending clan mail is unrelated, unless you mean that you control multiple co-leader accounts, and use a different account if you want to update or add to a message within the same hour.
Yes, I too prepare messages off-line, which is very tedious and part of the problem. It's good with bluestacks, OK on an iPad, and terrible on a phone. The reason that you have to do this is you cannot edit the clan mail, when typing, and least of all after it was sent. This is why a free-text box (like the clan description) would be better.
The very limited ability to communicate to the clan on war strategy is the very reason we, and you it seems, are forced to a very simple strategy that is loath to change from war to war.
We have tried discord. It is great for players who join the discord group, which happens to be everyone who doesn't really need to read the message.
If a free form notice box is ruled out, that is news to me. I haven't seen it pushed for a long time, and SC seemed to respond by adding the war map notes. These notes are good, but make the envelop icon bigger, and add one more for the summary for the whole map please.
How is Co sending clan mail unrelated ? My Co work to the same war plan as me and know the capabilities and attack preference of clan members as well as me. They are capable of directing war plans in my absence and might do this in chat when another members asks for target instructions or they might send a clan mail.
Here's some news.... Copied from Ruled out thread. Third bullet point under Clan Related. Not specific to war but specifically ruled out.
"A large text area for clan rules that just the clan can see (separate from public clan description)"
Just borrow the magnifying glass from matchmaking.
Agreed, they are too small. My clan doesn't use war notes, but I wanted to let OP know they exist. I give general directions via clan mail. I get around the character limit by strategic abbreviating or adding to the message with a mini.
