1-gem barracks boost should be permanent

I don't get it. SC would lose any existing revenues from 20-gem barracks boosts. Anyone using them? That lost revenue would be offset by additional revenue as people could upgrade more often. I just have to believe that the new revenue would be many multiples of the lost revenue.

The other costs would be internal and external bandwidth, but bandwidth is cheap to the point of almost being free.

Am I missing something? Are people really paying 20 gems for a barracks boost?

I think sc should reduce the costs, so its worthwhile for players to do it once in a while- 5-10 gems per barrack me thinks. A permanent 1 gem boost wouldn't work without another source of gold in to the game or a higher source. Another mine or another lvl for th8 plus would be the best solution to this. I'm not sure if anyone else noticed this but towards the end of the boost, loot was becoming harder to find.

With 1 gem boosts, all the loot would slowly bleed away in to upgrades, until there are people fighting over the scraps, with a very small profit each battle. The game would never be completely bled dry of resources as collectors would still be collecting, but it would no longer be worth anyone's time to play.

This what I'm talking about. I realized that you get shields, but collector don't produce enough to cover what was taken. Also with everyone having armies ready, as soon as my shield was over I'd get attacked.

No and why should they?

It was a lot of fun but I can't see supercell doing that
they will lose slim profits$$$

I don't think they should be permanent.
As I stated in another thread...

The cost before the holiday special was 25 gems for 45 minutes.
The cost during the holiday special was 1 gem for 45 minutes.
The current cost, post holiday special, is 3.75 gems for 45 minutes.
I really don't think it needs any more reduction... they've reduced it by 85% already.

Well, just take this simple equation into consideration. 1 Gem Barracks Boost= Everyone Using It= People Training More Crazy Armies That Would Usually Take Lots Of Time To Make= Your Base Getting Destroyed More Often And Losing Resources. I based that behind what I actually did over the boost. Kept on training balloonion (balloon minion) and rage spells non-stop, and I have to say I enjoyed wrecking all those bases. Nearly three-starred a near-maxed TH 9 (who was upgrading air defense and had 400k gold/400k elixir/3k dark elixir). Anyways, my point is people would start using training more crazy strong armies and they would take very little time to train compared to usual, and than everybody would be wrecking each other and people would be wiping you out all the time, taking 200k+ every time, and it would be a disaster. It happened on a semi-small scale during the Christmas boost because it was a pretty short period of time, but months and months of the boost would lead to a disaster. I disagree with this.

4x training time = 4x raid
4x raid = 4x progress
4x progress = less game lifespan

If the game's lifespan is 4yrs, with the 4x boost it will just be 1 year.

And faster progress also means that players will hit max bases so fast that they will cry for updates every month. And that's bad for the game and for SUPERCELL.

CoC isn't just for the profit, but also the fun of playing it.

I myself really had lots of fun with the 1gem boost. But making it a permanent option would cause a disaster. Trust me, SUPERCELL know what they're doing.

The game was much more fun with the 1 gem boost
