Ringus: An Early-Mid TH9 Farming Hog-Cleansing Design

Thought I would share some results from using this base. I have had wizard towers upgrading as well as air defense. This base layout worked great in Gold I, but as soon as I stepped near Crystal II, it got crushed hard. The weakness I see is from air attacks, which I knew were coming, and mass giants. I'm ok with losing to air attacks for a little bit, but mass giants is really annoying...

ZT, you're up in crystal 2 with 3 wizard towers upgrading, and non maxed mortars and air defenses, so you are most definitely going to be a target. If you dropped your trophies into gold 1 or gold 2, I bet your attacks would be a lot less devastating, and more town hall sniping.

Also, you chose to put your CC slightly off center. That makes it easier to be lured on the closer side. If you moved your CC to the center of your base, you could fit another key defensive unit in your core, perhaps a mortar would work well for you.

Anyway, I'm sure you'll do better as soon as the wiz towers finish upgrading. Then work on your splash and AD.

Right before I took that screenshot I put TH outside...it has been inside the entire time before that. Thats when I moved CC as well. So I guess I should have taken a screenshot before I did that..lol

I know having lots of gold and elixir isnt helping my cause either, but I'm still farming.

I will be putting that gold into walls while I climb up to Masters.

Yes, a spike base. One of my clan mates has just finished a season using one and gathered over 70 defensive wins. That seems crazy to me. So I thought I'd give one a go. I'll be collecting replays on my channel, but until I gather around 30 of them (and they show the design to be effective) I'm not going to be promoting it.

So, especially for farming and loot retention, stick with Ringus. Glad you liked it.

So, you climbed up into Crystal 2 with really weak TH7 walls, only 1 TH8 Wizard Tower, 2 TH8 Air Defences (the new one doesn't count being so low level) and you still managed to avoid being three starred by huge TH10 armies? I think that's fantastic! hawdog hit the nail on the head with his reply. You can't expect to go bumping heads with the big boys until you are stronger.

Also, you were using a trophy base that I threw together when all my Hidden Teslas were upgrading. Yours are working so the transformer version would work better for you.

More importantly, if you have things low level or upgrading in the core then get them out and get something decent in there. A Mortar, Archer Tower or even Cannon in the core is better than an upgrading Air Defence. Ringus relies on the core to grind down an army whilst it gets tied up in the ring. The core needs your very best defences in it.

Switch to the transformer and get your core working better for you. Good luck.

I've doubled the spaces where adjacent Giant Bombs could be. I've centered air bombs to catch Minions. I've pointed the X-Bows up because I have two Air Defence down.

It might not come to anything but spike bases fascinate me. I'll keep my gold high to attract farmers, lightning DE storages to bring in those butt-hurt revenges and raise trophies to test it out on a variety of players.
