[ Discussion ] Other Uses for Elixir
I've just been thinking quite a bit about Elixir lately. At the moment I am sitting on 8,001,000 of it plus whatever's in my collectors that look pretty purple, and it's got me thinking, "what're some other potential uses for Elixir?
The Question
Now when I think about this, and when I pose it as a question to the community, I mean long run uses, for example, the spells switching from gold to elixir is a long run solution, something that will continue to be effective, as opposed to short run solutions, like adding another level to storages, or adding another level to any other building that costs elixir to perform. More specifically rather, my question is more posed for higher level game play, say TH 8 and up.
Current Uses
Once you're done rushing through Lab/Spell Factory and Troop/Spell upgrades at your new Town Hall, the next step is all of the other Elixir buildings. Once you're through with your new Army Camps, and your New Dark Barracks are complete, the only thing left is filling your X-Bows, which even at, say, 50k each to load, on the off chance that somehow you are raided and they both completely empty, you are only left 100k Elixir short, which is hardly anywhere close to enough resources to compensate for the usual 100-300k Elixir per farming raid that can be done every twenty minutes.
Just One Idea
Something I've heard brought up on the forums several times is; changing the search cost from X gold to X (+ maybe some extra due to the relatively low cost compared to the relatively easiness to obtain elixir?) Elixir, on the basis that Elixir by precedent has been for "offense" (ie, troops, upgrades, spells) and that this somewhat new offensive cost should be in line with all of the former offensive costs, and would not only help out gold farmers, which at higher level game play is the majority of the population, but it would also increase the demand for Elixir slightly and would help balance the resources more.
I'm sure that others out there have other ideas, and I would love to hear them, and also hear thoughts on the above idea. I'm not the first with that idea, so no credit to me, but I personally thought it was food for thought when I read it!
Good luck in your next raid!
