Any dynamite, shovels, and TNT I get, I use right away and when I'm running low, I search the paper or neighbors' shops.

Maybe it's me but I rarely get any mining items. All I get are mallets, deeds and marker stakes. They're on sale practically every day in my RSS. And I keep a hundred of each in my barn for the next land expansion I'm positive is coming some day soon. If I get one shovel a week I'm a happy camper. I farm in real life too and love organization or I can't stop thinking about it and it drags me down. I'm so organized it scares ME! :D I believe in order and even if it's an organized chaos, it's still organized - though mine is never chaos, I believe in that.
So needless to say, as for the mining, I just can't find enough mining tools to keep things running. Good for you that you can. If I started my farm over I would not open the mine for a long, long time and I'd only buy at most, 3 smelters. If you could hide them when not in use, like the decorations, that would be awesome but they take up too much room I'd like for other stuff.
One sort of silly thing I do is I keep smelters behind a green bush fence. To me, when they are chugging out smoke while smelting, they are polluting my farm. That dust gets in everything and I don't like it in my food products. The green fence filters my farm - or so how I see it...rotflmao. This is how I know Hay Day has become too much in my life. When my heart breaks to see my animals crying to be fed in a digital game, I know I need an intervention. Sigh...

Right with you on all things, Goobster. I hid my smelters amongst the pine trees in front of the cliff. When I accidentally cut one down I immediately rushed to buy one of the replacement trees, because I could see all of one smelter. I hate the black smoke and wish it were white steam! I have put a security fence in front of the mine so that my pets wouldn't stray inside and hurt themselves.
I hope things aren't too cold for you at the moment, up on those northern prairies. Keep warm and keep your animals warm.
I think there might be a friend request coming your way... :D
I keep my smelters hidden as well. I like the glow, but they're a bit of an eyesore.
I remember selling off a load of explosives when I was at an early level, because I'd exploded all the stones I wanted to, and I couldn't see any further use for them. I couldn't understand why they flew out of my RSS! :)
Just sayin'

Edit: My bad, I misread the purpose of this thread. Moderator, can u delete my entry please?
We already have a thread for Great Hay Day moments: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...-great-hay-day
Until now, this thread has been exclusively about the smelters, and due to all the posts, cannot be merged into the other. Let's keep this on great smelter achievements, and any other moments of pride and happiness should be posted to the other Great Moments thread.
I'm going to change the title of this one to make it more topic specific.
Great thread, btw. Smelters are not the most favorite machines, so it's nice to see so many folks pleased with them and the ways they make them work to great advantage. :)
