How can you set up to follow someone's farm. In the past I understand there was a ribbon you could click on when you were on their farm but that seems to no longer be available.

Since when? The ribbon is still there for me. It's up on the top of the screen.
Have you reached your maximum follower allowance maybe?
I "think" you can only follow so many farms, then hit a max, at that point you need to decide whether to "drop one" in order to add a "new one".
Im not 100% certain...hopefully someone will correct me?
I think you're right - five is the max. But you should still see the ribbon. If you tap it, it will tell you you're at max. Unless you're already following that farm, and then it will un-follow it.
You won't see the ribbon if you're on your own farm. Since you can't follow yourself.
The ribbon is still working Ben as I've just used it 2 min ago. As Donsta said you've probably reach your limit of people to follow. You're only allowed 5 . You can unfollow each one by tapping on their ribbon . I tend to follow 3- 4 at a time , leaving me 1-2 spare, especially for when I'm scanning the DD & someone's selling stuff really cheap. I used to use all 5 slots but then found by the time I'd gone back home ,untagged a follower , I could no longer find the person again who was selling cheap goods.:cool:
As you've been informed, you can follow (partial connection) a maximum of 5 farms by tapping on the ribbon of each farm to follow. You tap on the ribbon again to unfollow. i.e. to empty a slot so you can follow a different farm.
The only times a ribbon will not show is if there is a glitch or you are already Friends (full connection) with that farm. If you are in full connection, that person's avatar will show in your Friends Tab in a yellow frame and you will show in theirs the same way. Farms you follow will show on your Friends Tab in a blue frame.
So, if you are already friends with whomever you are trying to follow, they will not have a ribbon on their sign. If you are not already friends yet there is no ribbon, do a full force shutdown of HD and then reboot. The ribbon should return.
Maybe U've connected with your Facebook? As I know, if U visit your Facebook-friends' farm, the ribbon is not there. Mean while, U can't follow them as they're already appeared as your friend in your friends list. If U're visiting the strangers' farm, I think the ribbon is still there even U've reached 5 max, just The system will show a msg for U to say that 'U can't follow the farm, all slots are in used' if u reach 5 max.
