One week trainee status for new players

Recently Itzu posted a video on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUC7LYi_qUk) talking about spies and CWL.

He points out an issue a bunch of people have been complaining about for ages. People join a clan, take pictures of bases or copy them, head back to their home clan and share bases, and practice on them. Then when you go to war you get completed destroyed.

This is even easier for any clan with a public war log (useful when using things like minionbot on discord).

People trying to join clans around CWL or war can be spies trying to steal your clans bases, traps, etc.

Now I get that this is part of the game, but now that global chat is gone, and clan recruitment still has some problems this is becoming an especially problematic aspect of the game.

One easy way to prevent this is to give a trainee status for any new clan member for a week. Trainees cannot see your bases and traps or war replays.

One objection is that people come and go from clans especially with feeder clans. So make it possible to promote someone out of trainee and problem solved.

CWL tournaments should be played fair as should war.

Would love to hear other people's thoughts on the issue. Whether you like this aspect of Clash or are also sick of it.

Nope. Those things don't make the tiniest bit of difference to how much of a problem it is.

CWL does make a difference, because while you can control who comes into your clan, you can't control who other clans let in.

Define "fair".

There is a well known saying "All is fair in love and war". Different people have different definitions of "fair".

And Supercell are on record as saying they think spying is perfectly Ok as a part of war.

Neither.

I don't like it, but accept it is allowed. But have never actually seen it definitely occur. I'm sure it does, but I don't think it is widespread enough to be "sick of it".

These kind of issues fall under clan management.

It might be blunt for you guys hear it as "clan management" problem, but SC is not there to spoon-feed solution to every such problem.

What is the “bigger problem” you get from not letting in people during war?

That does solve the problem of spies that enter your own clan for regular war. For CWL the problem is spies can go to another clan that you warred against earlier in the week to see your bases and then practice on them. Changing base designs is the only way to counter that.

The only way that would actually work, as discussed in other threads about win trading and the like, would be to make all opponents, whether in regular Clan War or Clan War Leagues, anonymous until the conclusion of that War/League. All members would have to be anonymous, and all clan information and details that can identify the clan would have to be unviewable (e.g. can’t circumvent this by adding identifying info to clan description). That would end all the problems with people joining enemy clans and enemies of enemy clan to try to get an advantage during War/CWL.

Until then, you’ll just need to not let people in during war, and/or change your layout in CWL as you suggested if it’s that extreme.

If not letting people join during War creates a bigger problem, I have yet to read it.
