Higher townhall, 75% Less Loot? [BAD]

Okay, so I just spent a lot of money to get gems and spent all of my gems to get my Town Hall to level 8 because I thought that would be the best thing to spend my gems on at the time. Well I do get my TH to 8, and get all of my extra defences i unlocked and everything.. and now I'm completely stuck because of the 75% less loot when attacking others with 2 level TH lower.. the 75% is WAY WAY too extreme and many people will agree.

I am stuck with like 60k gold and 40k elix for days now because all of my troops are level 2 or 3 and my trophies are anywhere between 875-950 and everyone I try to attack has like 2000-20000 resources. NEVER MORE.
And if they do have more than 2k-20k resources, then their exp level is like 70 and their defence is impossible for me to break through with level 2 troops.

The 75% less loot is way too high and is a horrible addition to the game. I understand you want to make more money, by forcing us to buy more and more gems.. but come on. Not all of us are rich and can just keep buying gems over and over again. Even 50% less loot is outrageous, and many people will agree.

Make it like 30% or 40% at the max.

First of all, your percentages are off. Read the loot thread in my signature for the real ones. (50% not 75% for 2 levels lower)

Second the game penalizes those with high level town halls in order to protect noobs. This really, really hurts players who dont know this and end up rushing their town hall, as you did.

What you need to do is focus on upgrading your troops and army camps. There is no way that you are going to be able to get decent loot with lvl 2-3 troops. Also, you may have to raise or lower your trophy range depending on where you currently are and exactly how bad you rushed it. More than likely you will need to go somewhere in the 1000-1200 range to find some decent, relatively easy loot.

I think you are confusing that with the bonus for higher TH lvls. It is 25% more for 2 lvls higher and 50% for 3. For lower TH lvls it goes 50% loot reduction for 2, 75% for 3, and 95% for 4+.

(I even make the link easy for ya'll to find :p)

My understanding of it is that 2 levels lower gives you only half the loot that would otherwise be stolen, and 3+ levels lower only gives you 25% loot.

It might help if that information was somewhere in the game itself. You wouldn't know about the loot penalty unless you specifically looked it up; it might help to put it in as a loading screen tip.

Actually, that would be a really good idea. Might help some people not screw up their entire game up by rushing their TH. That would be a very helpful addition for many people.

thats ur consequence of gemming too quickly, use them effectively instead of rushing everything

Yeah it definitely wasn't your fault imo. It's very counterintuitive that upgrading your town hall prematurely is a bad idea. I was lucky enough to read this on the forums/wiki so I'm sitting at TH7 now, but to others who don't research their games (and that's a lot of people) it's not obvious since there's no mention of it in the game at all.

To whoever said they should make it a tip when loading the game, that's a really good idea. I hope the mods/developers see this, because I'm sure that would be a simple thing to add but would save many people from getting upset/wanting to quit. Something succinct like "Avoid upgrading your Town Hall too early! Doing so gives you a loot penalty when raiding lower Town Hall levels" would probably be enough to get most people to avoid doing that, or at least to look it up.

SC's for not making the game mechanics available to users and leaving it for them to guess at, or go to the forums, which I'm guessing less than 5% of the players do. They need to have an in game manual or help system that explains things like this.

No guys, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the game, everything is fair, And yes, it IS your fault. U WASTED your gems.
i, for example, have a level 6 TH, all my walls and defenses are maxed out, all my troops are level 3 (max for my level), all i have left to upgrade is my army camps to level 6. I've stayed in TH level 6 for almost 3 months. My trophies are 1343, and i get 100k - 250k gold and elixir from each attack.

I'm not saying the game is fair because i get high loot, but conan, u shouldn't have rushed to upgrade the town hall. So to fix this mistake, u have to improve your army by researching and upgrading your army camps and barracks. Then, increase your trophies to 1100-1200, in this range, i find many people with really weak defenses and A LOT of loot. Always, max out all the other buildings and defenses THEN upgrade the town hall.

Btw, i see many people doing the same thing rushing to upgrade the town hall, i think they're trying to finish the achievements, specifically 'bigger and better'. This is not good, this achievement is making people rush.

you are a town hall 6 things like that don't make much of a difference I rushed my town hall 6 and 7 upgrades and I'm doing perfectly fine. If I were you I'd at least get to town hall 7 before you give advice to people who probably have much more expeireince than you

SO WHAT? So what if he has a town hall level 8? That doesn't make him more experienced! So ur telling me a guy with level 8 town hall and level 2 troops IS EXPERIENCED? Experience in this game is measured by the strategic skills not by the town hall level!
