Selling and hoarding..??

The DD is fascinating sometimes, as are people's RSS's, which got me to thinking.. Some stalls are chockablock full of wheat, or eggs, whilst others vary their goods on sale quite a lot... I also wonder why people put just one single item on sale..?? Barn and Silo sizes will dictate most agendas here.

Do you tend sell a whole lot of one or two items, a general mixture of what you produce, or stuff you buy in the DD, and what items do you hoard, if any..??

As for me, I have all the machines, so I try to sell as many varied items as I can, both produced and purchased from the DD, hoping my goods help people fill their truck or boat orders, etc. All my lem's go on sale for those that need them, sometimes sem's and bem's but not as often.

I don't hoard that much really, my items being saws and axes (because I have a lot of fruit trees and fruit bushes) and my jewellery items and bullion bars for truck orders, because I need the vouchers, especially those gold ones.. lol.

Just interested in any other tactics and strategies for buying, selling and hoarding...??

I tend to sell off cakes, pies and jams, because I reject boat orders for jam and I'm still after cash. I hoard fish products cos I can't be bothered with fishing at the moment - funny because I used to find it fun. (I guess I recently figured out the point of nets - ha ha).

I sell many items at one or two to help lower level followers that don't have enough coins or enough space for large quantities. I sell animal feed a lot that I usually sell in bundles of ten.

I like to have large quantities of bread and popcorn to fill neighbors crates.

I sell all lems, sems and bems. I sell one item in each box to benefit low level players.

I keep my axes and saws because I will need them at some point.

I sell one or two at a time of food goods coz I figured people are more likely to buy 1 cheesecake at full price instead of 3 or 4 where it's 2000+ coin!

Me too, and I think that's a good strategy. I was looking for 2 blackberry muffins the other day for my boat and came across two people selling 10 of the damn things. I don't want 10! Needless to say, I didn't buy them.

I try and keep 5 or 6 of every item and then sell off any extras after boat/truck orders. It usually ends up being a nice variety. Plus I sell all lems and sems, but am trying to expand my barn at the moment.

I never buy stuff to just resell, what I've done lately is to sell stuff that I have lots of in my barn. Trying to keep 10 of each product in stock, more of dairy and sugar ofc. The rest of the stuff I produce goes in the rss hoping that it will help friends.

I never buy to resell and what goes in my shop are probably the socalled "premiums", very rarely basic things like wool items, eggs (never), bacon and eggs, chili popcorn. What I have of those I use for boats, mne and others, but I have recently reached boat score hunter III so now I'm not doing many of my own boats anymore. I'm also not much of a hoarder. I usually keep 8 to 10 of everything and sell off the rest. I like to keep it even :D

I usually fill all my crates... I do not have much crates to begin with so it is not too time consuming. :o
If my RSS has only one or two items it is the left overs from what other people have bought and I have nothing else to fill on my RSS for the time being. i love helping other players boats so I do not end up with much of anything good anyways. If I sell basic items like wool products I usually sell at low price just to clear my storage up. I never buy to resell, but i try to hoard when my items are below 10. Anything above 10 goes on the RSS. My RSS never last for 5 minutes... So it is usually empty anyways because I just cant keep up with demand.....:(

I sell a good variety, usually at a discount. I usually just sell low quantities of items for several reasons. First, like others, to benefit low level players. Also, as mentioned because even a high level player may not want or have space for a large number of one item. Another reason why I sell this way is because I have really awesome neighbors who visit my shop often. If I put out only one or two of a variety of items and restock as they sell, odds are better for more neighbors to find something they want when they stop by.

I do shop to resell. I like to shop and my neighbors do too! I visit their shops and the DD to find items to put in my stand along with what I grow and make. I do this to support other shops, to insure variety in my own, and to try and keep up with demand. I try to be a courteous shopper where ever I go, leaving something for others and leaving adequate time between visits. However, I will "raid" a low level players shop buying everything at once. I do this because I remember how excited I got when I was new and all my items sold really fast.

I never sold eggs until recently when I began to run out of them myself making mayo. I'd end up an egg or two short of a jar and turn to the ads for some quickly. Like Velcro, I get annoyed that when it's something I need all I see are groups of ten. So, now as a courtesy to my neighbors I occasionally sell just enough eggs to make a jar of mayo. :)
