Valley season 6

So I just entered the valley and I’m a little concerned.

First, the number of animals required is 400!!!!

i don’t see ANY animals near me, and I’ve restarted the game several times, my hoodmate says there is a symbol for a giraffe and hippo right next to me....so either the animals are only placed for each person [unlike chickens) or there’s some kind of unresolvable glitch.

Picking up 400 chickens would have been hard enough but you not only have to pick them up, you need to spend a LOT of gas to get them to these sanctuary spots.

the first fuel place wanted 10 diamonds for 10 fuel. No thanks, that’s not nice.

overall, I’m not liking this so far.

Ive picked up an animal,right next to a sanctuary,drove there,now have to wait 30 minutes to complete delivery!
The tokens collected are going straight to my piggy bank

The wait for 30 minutes to drop off the animal is RIDICULOUS

oooh, i was hoping not much of a change in season 6, also i see again less scrolls, season 5 was the best, short, not stressfull and better gifts.

I was so excited to see the fuel station in the valley.

Wait-5 diamonds.

No thank you.

My first fuel station was 10 diamonds !! Are you kidding.

And it’s 5 diamonds to speed the 30 minutes for dropping off a sanctuary animal.

And the animals disappear as you’re driving to them.

and they are no where near the sanctuary stations.

and they are not consistent within the neighborhood, so telling your hoodies to pick one up doesn’t work because they aren’t on their map.

this is awful - doubting we will get to 400 animals without spending a ton of diamonds, which I’m not doing.

Don't do like I did, double tapped thinking I was dropping it off and instead sped up the 30 minute wait for 5 diamonds.

Im starting to think the intensity of diamond grabbing has severely increase with the introduction of this season.

Ny truck is stuck with a hippo in the back and no more fuel for the day (I’m not wasting my time getting more with the options available). Only seen one sanctuary and driven way off it, so no where to dump the critter. Driving back and forth to the sanctuary seems like a huge waste of fuel.

The fuel station I tried wanted 15 diamonds for a refill. Not happening.

The prizes this season are abysmal, one booster, two scrolls. The rest are one of various ‘ems. Not worth the effort.

Well my take on the new valley is its interesting and fun but a tad annoying and confusing i just feel the targets are set to high and now not only do we have to put up with our trucks breaking down and being out of action for 2 hours but when we unload a sanctuary animal theres a 30 min wait meaning what was once a fun pick up and play game has become even more time consumng

This is awful, I picked up two elephants and one escaped. So I have one elephant, nowhere near the drop off, and no way to get to it without buying a lot of spins or extra fuel.. 400, are they kidding.😠

Unless I'm missing something this task is impossible without spending lots of diamonds.

Maybe the piggy bank feature will be good, but don't know whats on offer till the end, so
don't know what to aim for.

My thought exactly. Should've known they would remove everything that made that one great. I have zero interest in playing this valley season, and will just wait for another season like 5.

i had only a few minutes to play before i had to run off to work. imagine my dismay when I finally make it to the sanctuary, thinking I can drop off this critter, and get told i have to wait 30 minutes or pay 5 diamonds. not happening folks!
the only worthy change in this update is the piggy bank, and i have my doubts about it.

Sun tasks are too tedious to do, I mean you need to stay online for hours to get spins today.

I am so NOT enjoying latest valley update. Fuel is already hard to acquire once you reach the 100-200 suns to refuel. Then an animal i got escaped which prompted me to waste 2 more fuels to get the animal back. The nearest sanctuary is 7 diamonds away and i have zero diamonds after 3 spins. It is often hard for me to reach the 200 suns for a free spin.

400 to get to the awesome prizes??? Yikes

I made it to the sanctuary and waited 30 minutes to drop off my two hippos. The number of animals delivered in the shop increased by two, but the hippos never left my truck, and I don’t believe I received my reward. I now have the maximum of 3 animals in my truck and I don’t believe I’ll be able to drop them off.

I’m playing on an iPad mini.

I don't like this. Finally got an animal, it escapes!! This is no fun.

Worst velly season so far. OFfering only few tokens. Don’t like it at all

Like most others, I am EXTREMELY disappointed in this valley season. I used to look forward to it but YUCK....I'm sitting this one out.

More idiotic things to do for less reward and enjoyment.

I wish they would have spent all this time updating the monotonous and BORING tasks to do for fuel spins. Don't they realize that there is MUCH more to do on our farms then "feed cows, trucks, boat crates, plant wheat..."???? UGH.

TOTAL disappointment and frustration. I play this game for fun and to relax. LOL...This is the opposite of 'relaxed'

How can you check if/which animals you have in your truck?

I got a daily quest to visit 2 houses with black roofs. Can I visit same building twice?

Generally confusing, not relaxing, diamond traps everywhere.. You really need to be enthusiast to deliver those animals into the sanctuary.. or do you get how many tokens from animal delivery?

Have you found any buildings with just 1 fuel between them?

Update in the valley is just another attempt of bare rip off. There is no way we can collect and deliver 400 animals. But. Since 80 limit was introduced I have completely stopped buying any diamonds at all. Disengaged Tom and last derby didnt even pay 10 diamonds for additional task. When i started i had 10 tasks ready to just collect. After completing third, I saw someone was already done with max no. of points. I didnt bother taking 10th task. The more we are pushed to spend diamonds, the less I will be doing it. Anyway, I am very close to forgetting about this game altogether.

Just for the record, I used to be a very devoted and supportive HD player, regularly buying diamonds and not being sorry about any amount I would spend on the game. Not any more, to say the least.

I feel the same. Valley is crazy. Went 2 fuel stops out of my way to buy fuel so I could make a loop and pick up animals and drop them off. Got a whopping 3 gals of fuel for 3 diamonds....so a net of 1 for the 3 diamonds. I dropped off 3 animals earlier and don’t recall getting anything except something in my piggy bank which I didn’t even look at. So I have no clue if I really got anything or not. The 30 minute wait to deliver is ridiculous. Why would you have to wait 30 minutes to unload your truck? That just gives more of a chance for animals to escape which I would think is the point.

My NH usually rocks the Valley but doubtful that we will this time. This valley requires a lot of time online which my NH does not have. We all work and cannot be waiting 30 minutes to make a delivery. And like another poster, I accidentally hit the button and spent 5 diamonds to deliver them. 8 diamonds gone today in the Valley and nothing gained but 1 gal of fuel realistically.

Also see a number of trucks in the Valley with animals based on the dots above their trucks, but none are anywhere close to a sanctuary. So far, only the 3 I dropped off in the bank, so to speak. Not sure I am doing much but driving around to get my 3 scrolls and 2 puzzle pieces. The exclusive deco is ho hum anyway, IMO.

I really liked the last valley season. Why on Earth did the mess this up? 400 animals, impossible, especially since they escape right after you gather one. And no way will I spend diamonds on all this extra valley garbage. Extra fuel, gas station, sanctuary animals speed up, escaped animals, and the best of all..the piggy bank. Will only gather enough gems for the 1 scroll and puzzle piece for rewards then done. Daily task bar is too far out too. Can't get all chests for second straight season. Really bummed. Sorry SC, you messed this one up.

I agree, first impression of season 6 is not good. I saw a giraffe disappear as I got near it. Then I picked up a hippo, but it escaped on the way to the sanctuary. 4 fuels to go catch it, and at that point I'm 6 fuels from the sanctuary. Along with completing my 4 daily tasks, by this time, I had used all my fuel thru the 50 pt fuel spin, plus had bought the 5 diamond spin, and I had to stop and do the 100 to get more fuel.
Then the hippo escaped from my truck a 2nd time, and I didn't have enough fuel to get to it and get to the sanctuary, and I'm not going to go for the 200 pt fuel spin. So to heck with it.

give us back season 5, it was 10000x better, S6 is just to much and def not relaxing, pls SC make is shorter in days with a higher amount of tokens like in S5.

The similar scenario when 80 limit was introduced. We were asking, writing, begging, explaining, only for Nick one day to close the thread saying 'oh, it got a bit toxic!' What the players felt did not matter at all. Im not spending my energy and time on this one or the game at all. Enjoy SC, whatever it was you have tried to achieve.

P.S. feel free to ban me from forum also, like the last time, due to no mistake of my own.

Christmas is expensive, I guess that is why SC is trying to get us to spend diamonds.

Last valley was the first I thought was mildly entertaining, so of course it has to be changed. Just my luck.

So far we have collected 0 paws. Personally I have not seen any animals. I guess, it's a bit of a blessing in disguise, since I will not wait 30minutes to drop one of. It is not the way I play. I play - in general - twice a day and never check in between, so any animals would have escaped, before I could deliver them.

SC if you really want to make me happy go back to making decorations and let us buy them for our coins or diamonds. I can't get my head around that there so far is no new Christmas decoration this year. This just adds up to me not playing HD as much, as I used to. No play, no money spend on diamonds. I guess, I am no longer an interesting customer.

I noticed another change: I completed a group task (I was the 3rd person to contribute) the task went away but we didn't get an animal point for it. So I read the new valley description and it says that completing a group task will make an animal appear close to the shop with the group task. Then someone has to catch it, maybe looses it, has to deliver it to a sanctuary, wait 30 mins and only then we get a point towards the exclusive shop whereas before all that was needed where 3 people to complete a group task and you got a chicken. :facepalm:

Also the limit of 400 seems completely unreachable. I guess that is another test season to determine what is a realistic number for normal players to reach. I'm sure, like with the chickens, the number will be lowered next season or the one after that.

I'm also very disappointed about the lowered numbers of tokens per shop (not compared to last season, I know that the numbers where higher than normal but compared to the previous seasons) and the lowered number of chests on the daily task road. Those were the main reasons I played the valley, now it's not worth it anymore since we won't get the exclusive deco anyway. I'll get enough tokens to buy the 2 permits and puzzle pieces and won't bother with the animals or fuel stations.

TLDR: Very unhappy with this update.

I feel you. Similar thing happened to me. Valley used to be my favorite now it is annoying. But i still trust that SC is just testing this and like what happened before will fix some of the parts that people don’t like.

I am also a huge diamond buyer and i dont hesitate on spending them on decorations, Tom or my current favorite which is restocking Greg’s store with 5 diamonds. But this valley 6 one is making me hesitate to waste even a single diamond.

Hope they fix this soon because i kinda like the balloon in the decor shop☺️ And i am collecting all decors. I only missed the first one due to lack of chickens.

So many negative comments on velly but no replay from community manager or any other supercell moderators. I think it’s better to give a justification for the change

Agree with the general sentiments here. Last valley season was short and enjoyable. This one is going to be a real chore. Fun concept, poor execution.

Delivering 400 animals is too much. Also, why make us wait 30 minutes *on top of the used fuel* to drop the silly critters off?

And the fuel stations are a waste of space. We already have the option to spend gems to spin the fuel wheel. After I realized the stations were just another cash grab, I've actively avoided paths that lead me passed them, since it just adds extra spaces to my trip.

I’m excited about this season! Catching chickens was fun but I didn’t see a real point. If I recall, the first season goal was 200 chickens. Wow! SC listened and the goal was moved to 100. Yes, I also thought it was a money (diamond) grab. I realize SC has to make money somewhere but believe they will find a balance that people will tolerate. Sanctuary animals how fun! Seems more intriguing. I believe either the goal will get adjusted next time and/ or the animal frequency will increase. Keep posting opinions and we will see. Let’s TEST this version and see how SC responds. 😁

The last season was almost perfectly balanced. It was fun and relaxing, although some of the tasks to collect sun points were ridiculous- like 1 sun for 25 wheat.
This time they've gone back 10 steps, and it's back to being a frustrating chore

So far no one in my valley have collected any animals. That is zero out of 400. i have seen none. Good news - 3 scrolls available so I guess I will use my tokens on those rather than trying for grand picks.

I am similarly displeased. Just spent 2 hours getting a spin so I could deliver my animals to the sanctuary and every single building between me and the sanctuary are all 20-45 minutes from being able to complete an order. So I continued on and within 4 spots of the sanctuary my truck breaks down.

i loved the Valley. It had become one of my favorite things to do in HD and I really dislike it now. I even had my truck break down every day last season but one and I still liked it despite the truck breakdowns. Now, I am betting my animals will escape in order to make me spend diamonds to chase them down and deliver to the sanctuary. Well I have delivered 6 so far and if they escape while truck is broke down, I am done with this valley other than collecting tokens (which are far lower) to but my permits and puzzle pieces.

I am not a fan of this revamped Valley at all. If you think about it, we need to be collecting and delivering 17-18 every day. Our Valley had 6 and I contributed all 6. So this is not a good sign at all.

I crunched some numbers... each Valley needs about 20 Sanctuary animals collected PER DAY in order to hit 400 by the end. And that is cutting it close. Yeah, it seems doable, I guess. The Valley has enough players, and by being able to collect 3 at once, only 7 players have to have a keen eye for them and have the will to drive them around each day. Again, it IS doable.

However, just because it can be done doesn’t really mean people want to do that. Fuel is hard to come by. If it could be a little less, that would be helpful!

All these complaints and nothing from forum admins with an explanation. Seems unless you are singing praise about everything in the game then you get ignored.

Each update makes this game less fun to play. Doesn’t make sense unless they want the game to die off.

I find the Valley remarkably stress-free.

I've never been annoyed enough by any game to go complain on their forums before. Ever. But the valley is like 90% of the reason I started playing this game again. I loved it. Now they've made it virtually unplayable compared to the previous 5 seasons. I'm genuinely shocked at how monumentally horrendous this update is.

I agree. In my opinion, this update has ruined the valley. I used to look forward to going there, but I don’t find it fun any more. Maybe that will change as I get used to the “new norm,” but at the moment I just want to buy the one permit in my shop and then find more enjoyable ways to spend my time.

The Great Culling continues, i see. Weed out the misers, welcome big diamond spenders! Millions will spend their diamonds in the new valley, and God knows i'm not one of them.
In the end, i am grateful for this absurd new feature,i really am, it finally kicked me out from the valley for good. What a rubbish ill concieved feature.. Good riddance, back to farming, forget the stress, bombing etc.

Could the sanctuary animals display the time left to collect them like the chickens did? Or is this the intended design of the new “sanctuary mode”?

When I started HD after the update, I first filled some crates to my boat. Then I went to the valley and noticed that filling crates was one of my daily sun point tasks. But I still had 0 sun points. When I returned to my farm and filled more crates, I got my points for those.

So maybe one need to go to valley to "open the season" before sun point tasks start? Or was is a glitch?

Sadly I purchased 3 fuel for one diamond and DID NOT get the fuel, this is right on par with the game issues that have been plaguing my game since earlier this year...I use Google play card I don't recieved the item (fight with support) rinse and repeat ....I feel like I'm being punked!

Valley is nothing more then a "money grab". Freaking stupid collect 400 zoo animal "hope" you don't break down or you lose your animals and start the whole thing over or you run out of gas because conviently the zoos are very few and far in between and the task to get more gas are just stupid long with same rewards or the best feature of the entire valley wait 30 minutes or pay to dump off your animals.

Zoo animals on a farm game has always been a stupid concept unfortunately stupid sticks...personally Im fed up.

May I ask you where? The Fuel Station? It doesn't even sell such quantities for 1 diamond. The minimum you can buy in the Fuel Stations is 3 fuel for 3 diamonds. Ah, unless you waited for the timer to go down?

Anyway, not sure about you guys, but our Valley already has 28 animals collected in less than 24 hours, so... 28 * 22 (days left) = is 600 animals. Should be fairly easy to get there if I may say so! :) When I look at my Valley I see LOADS of animals all over the place.

Fuel Tip: The diamond requirement goes down as the time counts down at the fuel station. So you can buy the fuel for just 1 diamond soon before it expires. I had just bought 9 fuel for 1 diamond.
On the down side the station will not sell more fuel for 12 hrs.
When can you get fuel for free?

Collecting 400 animals will not be so difficult if there are many appearing around you. The bad part about it, you can collect only 3 at a time then travel to a Sanctuary to dump them off before you can pick up more. Also sanctuaries are few and far in between. Worse yet.... there is a 30 min. timer on the sanctuary so you have to sit there with loaded zoo animals until it counts down.

I tried to pick up many more and could not because I was already maxed at 3 animals. After the time I was able to drop them off. Quickly picked up 2 more animals close by and returned to sanctuary. The sanctuary does not give you the wait time until after you arrive there. Before arriving, I tapped on the sanctuary and it appeared to be accepting immediately. Not so.

The last update seemed to have changed the concept of valley play.
Before it was about delivering your farm goods in the valley to fill building requests. Collecting chickens was a bonus for the final prize. This season it is focused on collecting animals and transporting to/depositing them in a sanctuary. What makes it unpleasant is that there are too many added restrictions with the new additions. I want to have the freedom to pick up more animals before going to a sanctuary. Sure do not want to have to wait on a timer to drop them off. It is challenge enough burning the fuel to go pick up the animals.
What are sanctuary animals doing standing on the streets in a valley?
Valley seems to be a separate game that is attached to Hay Day. It takes a player away from Hay Day events and derby focus.

In reality SC has already charged us for fuel because after we work our tails off for another fuel spin to get fuel to move around, then we are wasting fuel driving to or by a fuel station. If you want to charge for it, charge coins or vouchers. Those are in plentiful supply. The fact that there are so many diamond grabs is making the game less enjoyable. Plus the fuel rates are outrageous...3 diamonds for 3 gallons. A spin is only 5 and we are guaranteed nothing less than 6 gallons.

And I totally agree, charging diamonds to access our “rewarded” piggy bank tokens is akin to you charging us diamonds to keep our derby reward boosters...something I just will not do. Kind of like winning the lottery only for them to say just kidding!

If they are thinking anything like I'm thinking, and I know they are already annoyed like I am, they will be thinking of quitting or seriously cutting back on their Hay Day activities. For myself, this was the first update that I've experienced where I've had nothing to do after updating the game. There are no new crops to grow, no new trees or bushes to plant, no new products to make, no new machines to buy, nothing new in town, there aren't even any new options from Maggie. This update had NOTHING outside of the valley.

Our previous update had a lot of new things for the farm, and also a bit for the Valley. Who knows what the next one will have! :) We can't cram in 1001 things into one update, unfortunately.

Please do not ask for any more crops, trees, bushes, machines, town buildings etc. There are already more than enough to contend with if you are fully engaged in the game. I see that many times in social media. Players that always want more are easily bored, have no patience, and do not even use what they already have. At that point maybe it is time to find another game.

Those are exactly the two main problems with the valley, the complete randomness and having no control over the activity.

And of course your valley will have lots of points because you must be in a big neighbourhood and can tell people how to play. It's really not helpful (rather hurtfull actually) to tell people you are doing well when the majority of us are struggeling from what I experience in my game and read here.

I'm in a small neighbourhood (we are 5 active players only). My neighbours are trying hard to collect animals but they don't even know they have to bring them to a sanctuary to get points. They are just collecting them like chickens. Now I can tell the 4 people in my hood what to do because I read the forums. But what about the rest of the valley? IF there are any active players out there which I have no control about, who makes sure that they know how it works?

Edit: last time I checked my valley had 2 animals, just to put my frustration into perspective.

My Valley has collected 43 animals up to now, so like Nick says I think the 400 is probably doable. I am solo player, well me and baby farm, in the last Valley I had 398 chickens but the first two Valleys only 40 something chickens. It really does depend on who else is in the Valley and if everyone is prepared to help. We just have to give it a go. It’s a game!

I must have forgot to collect the prizes for the baby farm at the end of the last Valley and I thought the tokens were lost. When this one opened it meant pressing lots of buttons to get it going but then the old tokens transferred to the piggy bank. Bonus ! Said it would ask for 25 diamonds to open the piggy bank at end of the Valley.

Unlike the chickens, the animals are worth a lot of tokens. I just collected over 400 for delivering 3 animals!

Let me get this straight.....Are you saying that anyone disagreeing or being displeased with this AWFUL new update is spreading "toxicity"?

Also, do you actually read the valid complaints we have had since the valley started? Do you consider such complaints "toxic"?
(especially the complaint from thousands of players about having a bit of creativity with the valley fuel spin tasks. There is a LOT more to do on our farms then plant, boats, trucks, fish...)

my verdict is out until i see how the valley goes, but I am somewhat amused by all the complaining about "spending" diamonds. We get lots of diamonds for free, so it does not necessarily cost anything to use them. yes, if you want to use them for something else, then you have a choice to make. But it is a choice, not a money grab. Every other game I play is loaded with ads.

And seriously, if you do not like to play the valley - don't play the valley. The update is not "awful" - but it may not be exactly what you wanted. I for one would love some town love, but alas it is not to be. I am sad.

Also, there have not been "thousands of players complaining" - handful at most. Not trying to pick on any one forum poster, but I think we should see how the valley goes this season before pronouncing it a disaster. Every update always have people freaking out even before they have a chance to play it a bit t see how it actually works. Sometimes they are good, sometimes they are blah.

On another note, I have not seen a single delivery building, but that is one of my tasks. Previous valleys were loaded. Is anyone seeing any of these? Bad luck or a problem?

I, too, have found a good spot like yours. But one of the problems with collecting animals is that you never know how many tokens you’ll get—or what colors they’ll be—until you get to the animal sanctuary. The rewards I’ve seen are lopsided and sometimes only 2 colors. So it’s not possible to plan what color tokens to collect.

And the amount of tokens is quite variable, so it’s also not possible to decide in advance if picking up the animal(s) is a good use of gas. The first time I picked up a single animal, I got 146 tokens (in 2 colors). The next time I only got 106 tokens (the same 2 colors), and the animal escaped. So I ended up using 9 tanks of gas for 106 tokens in the colors I already had most of. If I’d been able to see what the reward was going to be, I wouldn’t have picked up the animal.

First of all, I did not say "it's just a game". I did say that I am sad that there was no town love. I am not sad about your opinion. I just was offering another point of view for people to think about. Thinking about other people's point of view is a good way to expand your own. If you do not want to think about other's point of view, that is fine by me.

I do not think it was a great update, just that awful is a bit dramatic. Opinions are great, the drama is just a bit much and the reason I usually stay away from the forums and other sites. i am reading these to get ideas of how to play with the new changes. Others threads have been very useful, as some of the other comments on this one.

And no, i am not singling you out. Your opinions are not that different than a few others who jump in to rate an update before they have had a chance to play the change. Yours was just the last one who posted before I posted my previous post. There was more than a few posting before the update was released criticizing the update. Happens every time. The presumption that some make that they speak for thousands of other farmers, much less the majority of farmers is tiresome. I know I only speak for myself. Like I said, the ones who have helpful suggestions I find useful, which is why I read the forum on occasion. Other forums are so toxic I do not bother. I have informed internet knowledge - the complainers will complain. Those who are happy rarely post anywhere.

I prefer not to jump to conclusions about this or any update until I have had a chance to play the changes. If I dislike the valley changes after this season, I will simply sit out the valley in future.

Well, I thought I’d found a good area in the Valley, because it had an animal sanctuary and a circle of other buildings around it — and they were always one or two animals in or very near the circle. But after I collected 8 animals there (on five different trips), the animals completely disappeared. I haven’t seen any there all day. The closest animals I can see now would require 12 tanks of gas to reach (which is more than I have), and I can’t see if there’s another animal sanctuary anywhere near them. If not, I’d have to use another 12 tanks of gas to get back to the animal sanctuary where I am now. That would mean a total of 24 tanks of gas to get the animals and deliver them – assuming they didn’t escape, which would obviously require even more gas. That’s a huge amount of gas to use (even if I had it), and I have no idea how many tokens I’d get or what colors they would be.

My question is: Are other people finding that the supply of nearby animals runs out after a while? I’m wondering if this is just coincidence or if the game is programmed to prevent us from staying near the same sanctuary for very long.

Also, has anyone made a map of the current Valley, showing the locations of the sanctuaries? If so, could someone please post a link? That would be very helpful.

I was making a point that for the first time ever, I had nothing to do after the update. I then listed everything I could think of that I might have had to work on if it had been included in the update.

As for how many people are thinking of quitting Hay Day... I'm curious, but not curious enough to start a poll on the forums. Perhaps one with varied options that in a neutral fashion seeks the opinion of forumers would be appropriate? (Or would that be too toxic?)

After the October update and the implementation of the controversial daily 80 UMs limit, forumites requested for a counter and Nick posted that he'll discuss it with Team Hay Day. And if they decide to implement a counter, it will be on a future update which turns out to be the update released a few days ago. I don't buy UMs regularly in the shops, but this feature will help active traders so they may stay under the limit. I'm happy for them.

The new Diamond Shop is an improvement because now we may buy UMs with diamonds instead of real monies.

I play solo, and I can see there will be no way for me to collect 400 animals myself, not due to lack of animals, but due to the amount of fuel it takes. I caught and delivered 1 on the first day using up all my fuel up to and including the 100 pt spin + the 5 diamond spin(hippo escaped twice), .
Today I caught 3 with fuel thru the 100 pt spin.
So 3 to 6 a day is a more reasonable estimate of what 1 person can do with fuel spins up to 100.
Another diamond grab is the bonus game I "got to play" for the 1st time today. I was presented 6 cards. Behind 5 were prizes, behind 1 a bomb. They are shuffled, then you pick a card and it flips to reveal a prize or bomb. With luck, I picked all 5 prizes without hitting the bomb. BUT WAIT...
So I was sent to round 2: 9 cards with 2 bombs. I picked 3 prizes and 4th card was bomb. So I was offered to pay diamonds to collect the prizes I'd won, or quit and get nothing. Not even the prizes I got from round 1 where I didn't hit a bomb were given to me without paying diamonds. I quit and forfeited the prizes.
This valley season is very disappointing. Sorry, Nick. Just because I don't like it, doesn't mean my opinions are toxic. This is a real miss.

Since my initital valley disappointment, i’ve tried playing it again. I found a strategy of staying near a sanctuary and just keep going a round the same block every time i deliver animals. Then use the same path again as i see new animals almost on same or near the same path.

We got 40 paws now but i think i contributed like 15 or 18 out of the 40. I hope that SC tweak the 400 and make it into 150-200 instead.

Our valley is doing well,about 70 animals collected. I have noticed it’s taking a lot more fuel; the animals are easy to find but then there’s the drive to the sanctuary. I have spent some diamonds on fuel, not sure if I’ll continue to do so. As for the rewards, I have 1 scroll and 1 puzzle piece available. I’m hoping to get the premium deco from the animals collected plus those two items. No intention of spending diamonds for the piggy bank, the fuel is enough. I think this valley season is a great idea, but it really almost demands some diamond spending. My choice to do so thus far, I’ll reserve further judgement until the season is over.

i think you’re spot on about the diamond grab. It’s really starting to p*** me off. Everything seems to be tailored to getting you to spend as many as possible. I know it’s optional and you don’t HAVE to spend them but I don’t think it’s coincidental that the new diamond shop area now has Deals and Weekly Offers all costing diamonds and where scrolls and puzzle pieces are also to be found. I hope that doesn’t mean that those two items are going to be even rarer than they are at present. :mad:

Thank you for this suggestion, but I'm not curious enough to do that either. It was a serious suggestion. If there was a poll then people could stop guessing how much of which type of opinion people have about the valley changes. People tend to believe that others agree with them, especially when they see others posting the same opinions. A poll would give a more accurate, though not completely scientific, idea of where opinion is on the matter.

I’m happy to give the valley changes a chance, see how they work out but must admit I’m finding it very confusing.

I play on 3 farms (I know, I’m sad) and on each one I’ve turned over one of the bombs in the second section and lost the prizes so I won’t be bothering with that again. Looks like it will cost 5 diamonds to cancel a bomb in round 1, 10 diamonds in round 2 and (I’m assuming) 15 diamonds in round 3.

I like the refuelling stops though. Managed a few freebies yesterday and was able to pick up quite a few animals and drop them off but can’t understand why it takes 30 minutes to unload 3 giraffes.

Not sure I’m imagining it but did the layout change as well? Seems fewer bridges around or do I need to get a better Sat Nav system?

I quit the valley. While the entire game is a cash grab, I will occasionally purchase some diamonds. No more. The valley in season 6 is clearly a cash grab, with gas stations, truck breaking down, bombs in the bonus, 30 minute wait on the sactuary, need 400 animals to try to build a sense of urgency so that you hurry the sanctuary wait ... Nah. You screwed up Hay Day.

All the tokens for the animals have gone into the purse. Only some of the tokens from buildings have gone to the piggy bank. The animals are the best way to earn tokens.

some of the tokens each time I have delivered animals have gone to the piggy bank, but the vast majority have gone into my wallet. I think it may be the % bonus that you get for delivering 2 or 3 at one time that go to the piggy bank. I will admit that I have not taken the time to crunch the numbers so that is purely a guess.

I strongly dislike the new Valley so far. It's tedious.

1. It encourages you to find a sanctuary and just keep looping near it to scoop up animals. The prior Valley was exploratory. It was fun heading out into the unknown. Now, with clouds, I never know where the sanctuaries will be and so with a limit of 3 (?!) animals on my truck, it's a waste to explore.

2. When I get near a sanctuary, magically, an animal will pop out of my truck and I have to go retrieve it, burning up stops. How is that supposed to be fun? It feels like a cheap shot, trying to make me buy diamonds. There is nothing fun or game-like about an animal randomly falling off the truck. It makes no sense, and feels like a programmatic devise by the game designer. It loses game immersion.

3. Unloading a truck. Ok, it makes sense that it should take a little time. But - up pops the diamond grab, so again, loss of immersion.

4. The 400 count remains to be seen. Feels quite high but it's early to tell. I certainly hope they aren't doing a cheap cash grab to lock down the prior diamond/booster awards. After all, it takes an entire month to get them, so why try to put them even further out of reach? Previously, those in my valley were able to reach the 100 chicken count, so it was something to look forward to. Right now I'm finding the new valley so tedious I don't want to play it.

5. Not knowing where the sanctuaries are is a problem. It makes you want to head straight to one and not move away. If we knew where they were on the entire map, we would be encouraged to plot courses to them.

6. Fuel "stations." Going out of your way to a station only to collect enough fuel to...make up for the trip to the station is a joke. So clearly, this is just another diamond grab.

What fun I had been finding in the valley (targeting 100 chickens to get boosters) has evaporated with the sanctuary gimik.

My #1 complaint would be: the exploratory aspect of driving off into the clouds is completely gone. I'm planted next to a sanctuary and will just do tiny little loops over and over again. Which is tedious, which means - I won't be doing it for long.

That’s lovely for you, not all of us are as fortunate. As you may or may not remember, I play Solo - so I have NO contact with anyone in my Valley. More than a day after you posted, We still only have 9 animals and I have put 6 of those there.

I’m assuming many people who don’t use the Forum have NO idea what they’re doing or NO interest in doing it. So once again I’ll miss out on the exclusive deco through no fault of my own. No fun!

There’s not enough fuel to be chasing this lot around and doing quests. I can’t get spin 500 from the sun tasks I have today and at those prices I can’t afford to buy fuel from the new stations. It’s far less fun than V5.

A bomb blew up the other new part of the game.

I do love the new Christmas Stocking though and the Deco I bought in the packages.

Well. I'm afraid I was one of the first ones to bitterly complain about the changes in the valley. 400 figure and having to deliver animals as well freaked me out completely. I play solo, with baby farms and I never know how active the others in the same valley will be. One day into playing valley, I find it more interesting, more fun, plenty of animals to collect near sanctuaries. Waiting for half an hour for them to be downloaded does not disturb me at all. Sanctuaries in the clouds are clearly marked so players know which way to go.

Even if there are many new features that could induce spending diamonds, it is entirely our choice whether to spend them or not. Someone here mentioned that we get lots of free diamonds and that was also significantly increased by getting 40 at the end of each valley season if we opt for that, so it does make sense that the game developer is trying to make us spend these diamonds too. Noone has to if they dont want too.

I prefer wild animals to chickens anyway 😂

So, for the first time after a long period i feel more positive about my favourite game. We have been asking for an update that had to do with the game play for a long time and we got it. I actually find new valley more interesting, a bit more challenging but not stressful, in short quite enjoyable. Enough for me to be happy to connect to HD in a long, long time.

I really hope 80 limit will be lifted too, which would make my HD experience again pure joy.

I will learn from this experience: before I freak out and start being very negative, I will try to give it a go at least cause I may end up liking the very thing I was complaining bitterly about.

Our valley has 76 animals at the moment so it sure is possible or maybe we just have extra active valley.

My strategy is to make circular routes (10-15 fuels) collecting 2 or 3 animals and repeating this few times a day. And in the process I'm trying to fill daily quests. I currently have ~3000 tokens in wallet and 500 in piggy bank.

I guess I could also camp on fuel stations for the rest of the day and collect free fuels every x:th hour(?).

Like you, I think most players don’t know how to deliver the animals. I think it’s natural to assume that they work the same way the chickens did, and once you’ve got them, you’re done. I don’t think most people will look at the tutorial in the store, especially because it appears to be the same as in previous seasons. And if they do look, it won’t fully explain the process. It doesn’t say what a sanctuary is or how to find one.

I think there needs to be a much more obvious tutorial, along the lines of the scarecrow showing people what to do. Another possibility would be to do something similar to the delivery requests, with dotted lines going from the collected animal to the sanctuary and/or some kind of obvious sign over the sanctuary to show where it is. Obviously people can’t collect and deliver animals if they don’t know how, and relatively few players read this forum.

It isn't "toxic" to be irritated that my tokens are being literally taken away and held hostage.

Before the update rolled out, I had assumed that if the bank *did* require diamonds, it would only be if you wanted to use it to save your unspent tokens at the end of the season. That would have been reasonable, like: "Instead of discarding your unused tokens, bank them for next season by spending X amount of diamonds"

Instead it's: "We have not only drastically reduced the amount of tokens each building is worth, we will also be taking a portion of those tokens and locking them away from you unless you spend diamonds"

I think as Valley participants figure out a ‘system’ that works for them they will become better at picking up animals and delivering them to a sanctuary depot. I agree I think many think it is like chickens....just drive past them and that is done. Our Valley is not very active but we already have over 100 and those almost exclusively come from my neighborhood (3 very active, 2 actively for a bit daily, and 2 will maybe check in 2-3 times during the entire season.) And, unlike with chickens, there has been zero communication in our NH thread about locating animals as they are everywhere. Last season we collected over 500 chickens, but our NH just really likes chasing down chickens apparently and we challenged ourselves each season to beat our previous season. The first season we barely made the 250 but we mad it through hard work and sheer determination. Every season after that we made it in the first week to 10 days. I expect we will make it to our 400 within 10-12 days mainly because of Christmas. Don’t expect many to be on the 24th or 25th.

I do agree that there are a lot of animals in trucks (based on the dots) that have been in the trucks for several days. But not sure what more SC can do to tell people what to do and how if people won’t go to the forums or even watch the video that was provided with the update. I wish I had an idea but I don’t.

Your idea of toxicity is what normal people call complaining. If one is thrown out or gets banned for stating opinions, then the forum mods have went too far. All I've seen is people complaining. So they say SC's new update is about getting people to spend more money for diamonds. That's not an accusation. It's a reality in some areas of the update. But don't you have to try and make money? So own it. What's wrong in you making money? If people do not like the updates that make them have to spend money for diamonds then they don't have to play those areas.

I am not too happy with all the new updates, however, I will play what does make me happy in Hay Day.

I am defending those who want to vent and again please, don't call it toxic just because you don't like the negative opinions you are getting for an obvious update to make people spend more money for diamonds in some areas of the game. Granted it, it's not all areas of the game, but a person is naive to not think that some of the updates do indeed make you spend money for diamonds. I fully agree. Also having a heard time seeing what buildings are where because there are so many bubbles showing "Sanctuary Here" or "Sanctuary Animal Here".

I understand that strategy for the sanctuaries that are partially obscured by clouds, but we can see the animals in the open playing area; don't need bubbles over all of them. I keep missing stops and can't always identify the buiding i need to go to because it's hidden behind a bubble.

Not fond of this valley season either, and agree with the cash grab perspective. If I continue to play Valley at all, I won't be collecting sanctuary animals. I will do in game tasks to get extra fuel spins, I won't pay DIAMONDS for fuel. Especially because the addition of sanctuaries has made it way more difficult to get around and complete tasks. With stops being worth less and reward chests harder to get, the "Fun Factor" is gone.

Anyway, not sure about you guys, but our Valley already has 28 animals collected in less than 24 hours, so... 28 * 22 (days left) = is 600 animals. Should be fairly easy to get there if I may say so! :) When I look at my Valley I see LOADS of animals all over the place.

I noticed this, too, and I think there might be a pattern: Every sanctuary seems to give a specific ratio of token colours. The one to the south west gives about 60% blue to 40% red, the one to the north west seems to give about 10% green (I'll have to double check the other colours). I have delivered animals to both sanctuaries twice and it has always been more or less the same ratio. Maybe this is to make you drive around to diverent sanctuaries or to give you more controll over which kind of colours you collect. A lot of prizes in my shop seem to only require one colour this time.

I might be wrong tho and it could all be random and "luck" of which you need so much in the valley anyway.

Edit: Btw when your valley has 100! animals already clearly you ARE in a very active one and see a chance to reach the big prize so of course you won't complain. If you are in a dead valley (again!) and don't see a chance to ever reach a prize you might want, you will start to feel disappointed.
