Damn hogs

An was mentioned to design a base to be anti hogs, can make it weaker to other strategies. I would just put your townhall outside. 9 out of 10 attacks on my th 10 just snipe my townhall. With the barracks boost, people snipe my townhall within 15 minutes of logging off, it's fast.

Don't want to sound like a ♥♥♥♥♥, but you guys really think getting a cheap shield solves the hogs issue all the time? Really now.. I've been caught pants down only a couple of times, hence the results in attack logs.

@agr1014 : almost maxed out TH 9. The only defenses left to upgrade are 2x air to level 7 and 4x archer towers to 11. oh, and 2 small bombs to 5. I can share a screenshot if you aren't convinced.

@facescraper : thanks for the layout. I'd expect that to do well versus hogs but should be prone to other attacks like giants + healer for instance.

Not true. Giants, Loons etc all go around instead of in also on anti-hog bases. Give it a try...

Well apparently it does. I have been attacked by hogs at least 40 times and only once has the person lured out my cc first.

I really can't see how you are having issues unless your base in majorly under leveled. I always have 4-5 defenses upgrading at any one time and don’t use heroes on defense yet have still only lost twice to hogs since hitting th9. Once when my cc was empty from an earlier attack and once where the person actually sent in multiple hogs to lure out the cc before doing the main attack (even though this person did it perfectly it took long enough to get them lured out and killed that even though he got the win he ran out of time and got 2 of 4 gold storages and 3 of 4 elixir.

There is a lot of great anti-hog advice on this thread. This is great stuff, I hope people take note!

Just spend your money before you go to sleep, if you will make a layout against hogs then Giants will destroy your ***

I also have no issues with hogs. Keep it coming ;)

I agree with you about "Using hogs to their full potential takes more skill." Not sure if it takes THE MOST skill but it does take skill. Read some idiot say it takes as much skill as lightning for DE. But I dont agree with " if hogs can 3 star you then they could have 3 stared you will other combos too." Oh well :D

I believe I use hogs effectively, ie lure out heroes and CC and use other troops to distract defenses so hogs can get the job done of about 50 attacks only two weren't three stars so on the surface they seem OP. However if I think about the bases I beat they would have all been 3 star wins with my normal army too (giants, wizards, pekkas, healers and WBS).

As for why I think they take skill is because their speed it can be quite hard making sure you get all defenses distracted in time so the hogs don't get blown apart. Also unlike wizard etc based armies you can't ignore heroes and cc since the hogs ignore them they will die real fast to them if you don’t kill them first. Looking at even champ league attacks almost all just drop everything and use spells when required. With hogs you can’t do this, to win against tough bases you need to be constantly taking focus of defenses with other troops
