I didn’t appreciate getting stone walled by Supercell or the technical support fobbing me off.

Contrary to my previous rants on this subject however, the recruitment tool seems to be working now. We’ve added in a few solid members and have people applying to join quite a bit. I get 4 or 5 requests per day from other clans.

I am wondering what happens if the recruitment tool provides you with an account of the player type that caused global to be shut down, is there any UX respite?

Because in my family orietated chat (due to young eyes watching parents's screens playing the game), english using without google translate, strong/max th12/11 (note above directly map, and max includes heroes), US/UK/AU crossover clan which has max perks isn't getting much success too ... and tbe thought of an ex- global troll/predator entering the clan isn't offering much hope either.

What safeguards are in place to prevent this happening?

I have no problem opening the clan between wars but NOW there is a stinkin' bot that is in and out. They must have stolen it or something - it is a th12 with a high-level bb up in Champion so it's not like we can just raise the trophy level a bit.

I still think it bizarre to invite dozens of random people you have no concept of to see if they fit in to a specific target group clan. "Serious war"... "family oriented" .... "creepy adult men flirty with twenty year younger than them me" ... "non stop war but no concern about win or loss long as you try"... lotta square pegs in round holes.

But, to each their own, I guess.

Ive experienced this also. Opened the clan just to see what all flowed thru the door... yeah it was closed rather quickly. Spam, spam, spam... I report and kick.

Well, you may think you do recruit, while your are actually bamboozled by the UI. If you visit any clan, you won't find a single player without a green invite button in their profile. The UI even tells you 'Invite sent successfully', while in reality nothing happens if the players didn't turn on invites. You can't even tell if anybody has received anything at the moment, because the 'You've already invited this player' isn't working anymore.

this is a very interesting point you make.. one of the reasons that was given was that global enabled people to potentially groom and therefore safeguarding and protecting people was a key driver in the decision to close global... so we now have a system that means you can invite anyone into your clan without talking to them first, where they are from, their age, their gender..

so as for safeguarding people SC.. you have nailed it.. NOT!

We finally were able to kick the bot before he left so hopefully we have 24 hours without him ...unless they broke that too in the update.

I cant believe I am going to say this

Every time I see someone post that recruiting is going great for them I immedietly think liar. But the past 2 days has been one of the best recruiting periods in Clash history.

Of course it has nothing to do the the ”tool”, instead people are using real life networks (people who actually see other peope in real life like roomates, workmates etc.), to find clans and they bring friends. We had 2 seperate people who knew someone join our clan (so the joiner in each case new someone already in clan) and then subsequently one joiners Friend joined and the other joiner had 2 friends Join.

We now went from a situarion of not being able to field a full lineup of 30 th12, to having a full lineup of 30, and an overflow so big we able to do a 30 v 30 CWL in our mostly dormant feeder, including some th12.

I Didnt see this coming, but Hopefully some other clans will have the same experience.

Now before people start digging the boot into my ribs. i dont think this is any more than an ironic anecdote, I dont think this was supercells master plan, I still think their ”tool” is a combination of a joke and insult, all I am saying is that perhaps not all hope is lost, and maybe te best place to recruit will outside the game, personell contacts, discord, reddit, apps under development etc etc.

after this success i Will definetly give discord a try, as well as Maybe reddit, and look forward to the app being developed, allthough not for Apple unless it does well on android (i’m sure Theres more than one under devlooment.

Ill try a few tools and give feedback once done. Hurry with your tool ts! Its will be fun to see If you get it working.
