The Mortar Mauler (New Dark Troop)

I've been having this idea for a while now, and I'm still trying to think of a better name for it, but for right now, I've decided the name "Mortar Mauler". If anyone could draw up a picture to suit this thread I would greatly appreciate it! ;)

Description:
Basically a Wall Breaker but instead of carrying a bomb, it wields a mini mortar. If you have seen the mortars they use in the military (USA) then you should know what I mean.

Purpose:
The main purpose of the Mortar Mauler is to attack splash defenses (Mortars and Wizard Towers), and has an advantage of rendering damage from a distance.

Features:
• Has a range of 10 tiles to attack with (you may think this is OP, but the enemies list will show why this troop needs a lot of range to work with)
• Instead of shooting standard mortar shells (rocks or flaming metal balls), it will shoot a missile shell, capable of doing great damage to splash defenses.
• Dark Elixir Troop

Specs:
• Housing space of 6 per unit
• Movement speed: 12
• Damage Type: Area Splash
• Targets: Ground
• Favorite Targets: Splash Defenses (Damage x4)
• Training Time: 8 mins
• Has 5 upgrade levels

Appearance and Stats:
• A Level 1 MM has the same body as a Wall Breaker with a mini mortar that looks similar to a Level 4 Mortar.
DPS: 90
HP: 65
Cost: 120 DE per unit
• A Level 2 MM has the same body as a Wall Breaker with a mini mortar that looks similar to a Level 5 Mortar.
DPS: 110
HP: 75
Cost: 145 DE per unit
• A Level 3 MM has the body of a Wall Breaker but has a mohawk and shoulder armor with a mini mortar that looks similar to a Level 6 Mortar.
DPS: 150
HP: 85
Cost: 170 DE per unit
• A Level 4 MM has the body of a Wall Breaker but has a mohawk and shoulder armor with a mini mortar that looks similar to a Level 7 Mortar.
DPS: 190
HP: 95
Cost: 195 DE per unit
• A Level 5 MM is the highest upgradable level an MM can go to. It has the body of a Wall Breaker but has a golden war helmet and golden shoulder armor with a flaming mohawk. It has a mini mortar that looks similar to a Level 8 Mortar.
DPS: 230
HP: 110
Cost: 225 DE per unit

* MM short for Mortar Mauler

Best Use:
• Best deployed after meat shields (like archers after giants) to attack splash defenses without being fired on.
• Do not deploy in large groups. (Best 2-3 at a time)

Enemies:
• Giant Bombs: Well placed (and upgraded) giant bombs will instantly vaporize this troop.
• Splash Defenses: Even though this troop targets splash defenses, if it is targeted by one or more, they will be doused with significant damage, or even be one-shoted to Clash heaven.
• Single-Target Defenses: Defenses like cannons, archer towers, x-bows, and inferno towers (on multiple-target) could also do great damage to this troop.
• Spring Traps: No need to explain.
• Bombs: Can weaken the troop.
• Clan Castle Troops: CC Troops that contain Archers and/or Wizards will take these troops out easily as they will not target them at all.

Tip: This troops greatly relies on protection from tanky troops (Golems, Giants, Pekkas) to soak up damage while they move in for the kill.

Umm

I do like the idea but i think 270 DAMAGE PER SECOND May be a bit op, you could destroy most things on the map in under 2 seconds, i still like the idea i just think it could be improved on

Thanks for the feedback! :D What do you think a good DPS would be for lvl 5? I was upping the DPS by 40 for each level, except that usually lvl 5 troops get a boost so i gave it plus 60 damage from 210 DPS instead of 40.

Maybe + 30 for the levels and +40 for the last one? If you like that and with lowering the attack maybe the hitpoints could use maybe a bit of a boost? But its whatever you think

I have adjusted the DPS and HP of the different levels for the troop, hopefully it will be more reasonable.

That sounds good and i like the idea, but if you have already changed the stats try lower them maybe a little more like 20 more cause it would fire every 4 seconds. That makes 200 800

I lowered the DPS stats by 20 but increased the HP by 5 (just for lvl's 1-4)

If this is a new DE troop for Dark Elixir Barracks lv6, then it would be useless. Top players don't really care about mortars that much, and farmers would rather save dark elixir.

But this would be EXTREMELY helpful with a certain single player level called Kitchen Sink.. :mad: lol

Maybe make it unlocked at barracks lvl one or two then? Or make it a pink elixir troop?

Try beating it with the video "Single Player Domination" by, "PlayClashofClans". I got it 3 stars first try. Also, try replacing some of the balloons with minions!!! Good Luck, Lushy. ;)

To make up for that you can make the attack speed slower
