[Calculation] Completing Zap Walls

Level 1 Wall Cost: 200 Gold
Level 2 Wall Cost: 1,000 Gold
Level 3 Wall Cost: 5,000 Gold
Level 4 Wall Cost: 10,000 Gold
Level 5 Wall Cost: 30,000 Gold
Level 6 Wall Cost: 75,000 Gold
Level 7 Wall Cost: 200,000 Gold
Level 8 Wall Cost: 500,000 Gold
Level 9 Wall Cost: 1,000,000 Gold
Level 10 Wall Cost: 3,000,000 Gold
Level 11 Wall Cost: 4,000,000 Gold

To buy a wall and upgrade it to Level 11 costs 8,821,200 Gold

For Town Hall 10, you have 250 Walls to upgrade.

250 Walls * 8,821,200 Gold = 2,205,300,000 Gold

This means, excluding all other defensive building costs, "Next" button costs, and Town Hall upgrade costs, that you will have to make 2,205,300,000 Gold in order to upgrade all your walls to Level 11, or "Zap" Walls.

Now, let's look at the aspect of time.

Attack Time = Average Time spent searching/attacking. This does not account for time spent training/waiting for troops.
Army Training Time = Average Time spent waiting for an army to train, not including spells.
Average Profit = Average loot gained from every attack (Gold specifically).
Amount of Raids = Amount of attacks needed.

This is theoretical. It does not account for loot lost in defenses and other gold costs such as the "Next" Button.

Formula For Finding Time Spent Attacking to Reach "Zap" Walls:
(2,205,300,000 Gold) / (Average Profit) = Amount of Raids
(Amount of Raids) * (Attack Time) = Total Attack Time

Say there was a fictional player, "Bob", who had an Attack Time of 7 Minutes, and an Average Profit of 120k Gold.

(2,205,300,000 Gold) / (120,000 Gold) = 18,377.5 Raids
(18,377.5 Raids) * (7 Minutes) = 128,642 Minutes

Formula For Finding Time Spent Attacking And Waiting For Army To Train to Reach "Zap" Walls:
(2,205,300,000 Gold) / (Average Profit) = Amount of Raids
(Amount of Raids) * (Attack Time + Army Training Time) = Total Time

Say there was another fictional player, "Joe", who had an Attack Time of 8 Minutes, an Army Training Time of 15 Minutes, and an Average Profit of 130k Gold.

(2,205,300,000 Gold) / (130,000 Gold) = 16,963.8462 Raids
(16,963.8462 Raids) * (8 Minutes + 15 Minutes) = 390,168.463 Minutes

390,168.463 Minutes / 60 Minutes = 6,502.8077 Hours
6,502.8077 Hours / 24 Hours = 270.950321 Days, which is approximately 271 Days.

"Joe" will need to spend a minimum of 271 Days playing Clash of Clans with the averages he has.

That's a lot of time spent playing Clash of Clans. :p

IMO, up to level 7 is perfectly reasonable and easy. Level 8 is meh, easy though I certainly wouldn't mind a decrease to price. After that, 1 million gold is expensive. 2 million is insane. 4 million is about as fair as Burnie Madeoff's ponzi scheme. And all for a building that your enemy might attack.

I think ink fairer prices would be:
9 - 800,000 to. 900,000

I disagree. The prices are that high because they are supposed to be very difficult to obtain and show the dedication of a farmer/gemmer. Also, how would the people who already farmed/bought these walls feel if the price was decreased.

271 days so if weplay around 3 hours a day thats hell of a time.

The thing about SC is they cant change the value now, why? if they try to change it, those who bought real money for just walls would protest, which would be one of the reasons to have the game to its downfall generation, so even if we non farmers have this theoretical sense, nothing might change,

thats why the loot must be the one to change, btw as i can see, we might have thought that the loot got higher than before, yes, it was hogher for lv th 6 above, BUT no one at this moment would be able to loot 1m gold / elixir, base also on what i did see, the highest loot we can found on a abandoned mines is 350k overall, which we can add lets say 400k from the storages,

overall its only. 750k which is very hard to find at this moment, so if im the one in charge, ill place back the higher percentage of attacking higher th to get higher loot.

This isnt a complaint thread i just observed it

As far as I seen, and i could be wrong or margin could be a bit off, but less than 50 people have farmed level 10 walls from what I seen.Maybe less.

I haven't heard of anyone farming level 11. I know that a few guys are working on it right now, but not finish.

You lose a ton of gold on defense, along with a ton on defenses and the "Next" button. It will probably take much longer than predicted, with all the different variables in this game.

u get about 500k a day from collectors.

you can increase your average by attacking bases with more gold.

and then theres gems...

fair enough , coc became this big already
if we don't use real money , its not a game we can turn everything maxed within days at least....

In all fairness this game has been out for over a year.... Many, many players have farmed lvl 9 walls ( including myself ) working on lvl 10 now :cool:

Thanks for your kind words. It takes a big commitment to farm them since I rarely use gems. The boost has helped a lot though! I have almost 900 attacks won this season lol...I've never played this much before but trying to take advantage before it's over.

In your calculation you calculate with average loot of 339k gold an hour.
When you only get 339k an hour you should not be thinking about higher level walls.

Check everyone's gold grab. There are no gemmers in my clan, and everyone bar a few have all lvl9 walls, some have half lvl10's etc.

Please note that I have set a TH 9½. Just so you can enjoy the difference between lvl9s and lvl10s

Although I agree that it will take quite a bit of time to farm zap walls, however, nobody should be setting this as the goal of playing clash of clans. Quite frankly, past level 7 or 8, one should focus on updating certain areas of their walls over the other. If there is a section of walls that never gets attack, they don't have to be at level 11, and level 8 is adequate. Whereas, if there is a few key wall pieces where it is vital to your defense, why not splurge and upgrade it to level 11?

I currently have mostly level 8 walls for my foundation... I have a few level 9 and 10 mixed in at key locations. It works fine against most maxed armies. When I am done maxing out my defense, I'll begin to splurge a little more on walls.

Bottom line is: just have fun with it. Focus in on the wall pieces that needs most defensive HP and upgrade those first.

Of course people can do it like that, but I know that once I have one piece of wall at a certain level my ocd will kick in and I will at least have to aim to have them all the same or it will drive me crazy! :p

Which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ed. This cap literally kills the Top 50 Gold List when most of the Top 50 actually catch up.

Anyway, Icarus is probably the most extreme farmer, and sad to say but he likely uses gems to boost barracks(even without the 1Gem Xmas special) to even be able to farm that quickly. Personally I've hit 830mil Gold Grab, and it's already takes a lot of dedication to reach this point let aside almost triple my numbers..

Level10 and 11 walls are for gemmers or no-lifers.

Walls have always been a big cash cow for SC. I really have never understood people who say they should be that expensive. I dont see the appeal of spending many days and nights of my life for some pretty lines on a screen. The rest of the upgrades are much more reasonable, walls are just silly.

While I do agree that the feat is daunting, being one that farmed all Lvl 8 and Lvl 9 walls I disagree on the aspect of the walls being too expensive. Walls are purposely made by SC to extend the life of this game for a dedicated player, if they made it too cheap, then everyone would have them and their would be little point to continue playing it afterwards.

Actually, Lvl10 and Lvl11 walls are very strong defenses. It takes at least 3 x lvl 6 wallbreakers to destroy a level 11 wall(4 for lvl 5 wbs), and nearly impossible for a barb or archer to destroy. It's not just animations. It's still very effective against High level trophy pushing troops.

Absolutely nothing is wrong with it! I only say sadly because boosting barracks is actually a very expensive endeavour which sort of goes against the purpose of farming. If you're boosting all 4 barracks to build your farming army, it's a cost of 100 Gems per 45mins (Not the XMAS special!). Under that calculation, if you boost your barracks every time you're playing for 6 hours daily, that's a total of 800 gems per day, which means in a month it's 24000 gems.

For Icarus, I project that he's playing upward of 12-14 hours daily, and requiring upward of 40000 gems a month. Subtract this Xmas update for December, and the time span between today and since the August Profile update for Gold Grab totals. You're looking at needing at least 120000-240000 gems to start to boost barracks indefinitely.

240,000 Gems translates to about $1600 USD.

Now that doesn't include DE Barracks(if he uses it) which increase the costs by another 30%.


NOTE: This no longer applies. It's now much more affordable to Boost barracks at 20 Gems for 4 Hours, I'm sure Icarus and other similar farmers are probably upset now.

I like to play a lot as well, I have a 430 gold grab. But that just seems unhealthy! No-lifer or big gemmer. Though I guess for some people 11k is not much. But I don't think I would come home to my wife after blowing 11k on an iPhone game! And I would not be married if I gamed 12 hours a day! Guess it is just crappy lvl9 walls for me!

I just read the 1st page in this thread, and i am extremly New to CoC, but every game has this, one thing/Upgrade that is insane. And every game needs a thing like that. Its a "ultimate goal", and will keep the most dedicated farmers/players occupied for years, unless they chose to buy gems. The question is, how badly do one need a lvl 11 wall?

We're obviously talking about the #1 Farmer in the world (as we know it), and of course it is extreme! Just like how the #1 Top Ranking Player in the world is extreme. That's the difference between an average player and a #1 player.

Who are you to judge? If he has all the time or money in the world to play. Let the guy play. But that doesn't mean you can't achieve it through a longer period of time.

I have been at TH9 for months... I kept a builder free to do walls (oh the horror!!) and my defences still maxed WAY WAY quicker than my level 10 walls... In the next month or so i will be going to TH10 because my lavas will be done... Of course i will concentrate on defences at first when I level up... But i will still keep a builder free to do walls whilst the upgrades are taking place... And sooner or later there will be no more defences to upgrade.. I like the challenge of walls and i like to have a reason to play... After all, what is the point of raiding (which i enjoy) if you have nothing left to spend that gold on?

Edit : Ooh and by the way, I do have a life.. I have a very busy and stressful job... CoC is a way for me to relax and unwind in the company of friends and clan mates... I see nothing wrong with that at all...

This is the way I see it too. Although your a fair bit farther along than I am, I am dreading the day when I run out of things to spend my gold on.

As it is now it drives me crazy knowing that every time I raid I wipe between 100k and 500k elixir from existence just because my storage's are constantly full and I have nothing to spend it on. I hope that this will never be the case with gold, and thanks to the high costs of high level walls I don't really see much chance of that happening any time soon, and to me that is a good thing!

My theory is that SC watches a few notable farmers and tracks their progress. When SC thinks they are close to maxing, they will add new stuff. So you will probably never have this problem :p

We all enjoy this game! Why else would we be posting and playing?! I just don't see end game walls as the ultimate way to extend the games life!

There are much better ways to do it! For instance new content! New townhall levels! Not walls.....

Lol, I am pretty sure SC does not give a rats butt about the high level farmers!

As ive just played Coc like 2 weeks, I have not seen any game updates ever, so i dont know how fast or/if SC raises levels on buildings or adds new once, but In a "growing" game, level-caps will be extended, usually....TH11-12-13 etc, It will come...

True :( sad how people will actually criticize for such a thing, but I was curious to know because I am currently farming level 10 walls and find it to be so and so. Might be because of the barrack boost. I found level 9 walls to be easy, did them quickly.

I am also pretty sure that there is something about this in the Terms of Service, saying that if they decrease the price of something the player is not entitled to a refund.

One thing people should note is that walls/Heros in this game are one of those things that give you something to do once you finish all other upgrades. If you want a bit of an edge over another player who has successfully upgraded everything excluding walls/heros, there you go. It gives the game a longer life time.

Upgraded TH10 wouldn't have anything to do besides trophy push if it weren't for the walls or heros. They can take a break from trophy push and farm some walls or level up their heros.

Its also a symbol of a hardcore farmers or gemmer. If you see a person with them, you can either make the judgement that the person is a true farmer or a gemmer.

PS: Don't EVER make fun of a person who has gemmed their walls, heros, ect. If they want to spend money on this game, then they have the right to. And you should actually be thanking them because all of their money spent on this game goes to SuperCell...Obviously the more money this game makes for the company, the more attention this game will get, giving them more focus to make this game better. Bringing new features/updates. Think before talking

Walls are a much hotter topic and can't be compared to any defense or building.. (excluding heroes)
