Hello, I am new to the game. I just made th5 and I am upgrading my archers first. The way I see things I should be rushing to TH7 (will take 10 days) upgrading my archers all the way, then camping on th7 until things are upgraded. Do I have it right? Rushing used to be a bad idea but a recent update changed that?

Slow down at least near TH6/TH7, as you will need a strong base to do an any well further in the game :DQuote:

Yeah i agree,never rush your TH upgrade!yes u can gain better troops and stuff but u also profit less from the raids you will do after upgrading because of the loot penalty.Its gonna be harder to catch up on your defense upgrades when you are earning less per raid and have twice the amount of available upgrades to be completed.You will be behind for a long time and regretting the decisionQuote:

Pros as stated earlier, the fact that you get the 4th camp (200 troops) and 4th Barrax (unlocks Dragons, 60 troop que too)
was enough to get me to TH7 as soon as I maxed my TH5 splash turrets and walls. skipped right over TH6..
If you have a heavy raid schedule you will be fine.. everyone says "oh don't rush your TH!" which admittedly is sound advise, however I know from experience, that 200 troops lvl4 (and 5 at TH8) will make a difference over any raid scenario you get in TH5-6 with fewer than 200 troops and only 3 barrax.
I actually went to TH9 recently on my alt.. I do not recommend this, but will advocate for rushing to TH7, to max Splash Turrets and Walls; and then to TH8 to max most things before you rush to TH9..even though I did not.
my main base followed the max the TH path, and I do not regret maxing walls and turrets/troops on my main.
However, that said; my alt (B-Rye Farming4Gold, recruiting new members btw :p) is a new TH9, I have a ton of work to do, but I maxed my lvl 7 walls and camps/farming troops before heading up to TH8, then maxed my offensive troops at TH8, Arch/Barb/Gob/Giant/Minion and have a plan of what upgrades need priority.. (like my X-bows that I get next Monday night) since I know that I can raid for what ever losses I take, and will eventually have my lvl6 troops to trounce the bases that come up in the search for loots.
what pushed me over the edge of getting to TH9 was the 1 gem boost, window at mid TH8...and the road map I had paved with my main acct. There is now a HUGE gap between TH8 and TH9, on offense and defense.

Yes, you can 'safely rush' to TH7. Very important to Max Defenses and Walls as loot for TH7 is still very profitable! raid a lot and you will be ok.
Rushing to TH8, [pump the brakes] well there are some perks you get over TH7, like lvl 5 troops, Dark Drill 2nd Dark Barrack. I do not recommend you rush to TH8 with out maxing Splash Turrets and at least lvl 7 walls. and what ever troops you use most to Max for TH8.. you can over come rushing with a good plan, but its tougher, and I fully advocate to take a stop here and MAX TH8 , like everything walls, troops everything! lets be clear on that. Max your TH8 folks!
Rush to TH9, even though I did it; I DO NOT RECOMMED THIS COURSE OF ACTION. !!!
(But if you are going to do it, then have a plan and raid TONS to catch up, like I did/am doing. and know you will get your tushie handed to you on a regular basis if you are not equipped to defend the vermin that want your loots or if you are in too high of a league)

Man this game is about fun. For me the way of having fun is putting everything to max before I upgrade my TH because you don't know if someday supercell will come up with a crazy loot penalty to punish all those who don't to it like they want. They did it already with the level/league badges to encourage people to go for trophies. So in my opinion you should go easy on it.
