Yup, this was pretty popular a while ago, but it got shot down because of privacy issues.
Hi. I'm sending you this in response to your post in the 'who is online in my clane?' thread:
As a new member, you need to read the forum rules before posting anything. The forum rules, located at the top of every forum, are called stickies. The sticky for 'Ideas and Feature Requests' lists ruled out and already suggested ideas. It is imperative that you read ANY AND ALL of the stickies in a forum or sub- forum before posting.
Many new members (Such as you) post without reading the sticky, and then older members will be mean and rude to you because you have suggested a ruled- out idea.
I'll post a link to the sticky below, so that you can educate yourself as to which ideas are ruled out or have been suggested. Please be sure to read all of the forum rules as well. This is the link for the stickies in 'Ideas and Feature requests'

And here are the general rules: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...es-%2A-Read%2A
Welcome to the forums! I'm glad that you've chosen to express your interest in clash of clans with others. Please feel free to message me with any questions.
All the best,
Julian
He actually didn't ask for clarification. He was stating it as a 'why not' sort of sales pitch. His only post has been the original post. This message is not automated (Not computer sent). I send it to any member who has posted a ruled out idea, and they generally get the gist of it and don't repeat the error. It is ruled out because of privacy issues, as stated by a previous poster. The other response, however, did not explain that it was ruled out, or where to find other ruled out ideas.
That certainly seems like a question to me! Also, I'm pretty sure you get the point of what I meant by automated.
I know you're happy to act as some type of ambassador, but please read through the post before giving the 'canned' response that you've created. I admit, it works for those blatant feature demands, but guy here asked a question. That's all I'm saying.
OP - Lots of people, myself included, would like some level of privacy when playing. An online indicator breaks that level of privacy (and has other detrimental effects) and that is why SC has ruled it out. And, yes, Julez link is one you certainly should read!
I havve said ths before....stalkers...
It's because some people would rather not have clanmates knowing youre on and asking or telling you specifically something when you just want to collect recources, mainly it's like everyone else said, privacy issues
Please tell me how this is nasty and rude? Also, if a previous post has explained why the idea is ruled out, I see no need to repeat what they have already said. I was trying to educate the OP about how to avoid posting ruled out ideas in the future. I did not condemn him as being stupid or dumb, and was not hurtful or rude in this post in any way. I welcome you to explain how this is 'Nasty and Rude.'
I did read the post. And I've been keeping up with it.
No, rude is in the way that you type it: If I had said to him 'Hi. You are dumb because you din't read the stickies. Now go read them and you'll be less dumb' then it would have been rude. As for tone of voice, I don't really see how the tone carries immense scorn for the member. Sure, there are a few points where it sounds a bit harsh, but I feel those are necessary to get the point across.
I believe this idea is ruled out, read the Stickies!
They should have little green circle next to the peoples names that are online and white ones next to the names that are offline
Yes, this idea is indeed ruled out. From a player's point of view, this could be viewed as an unnecessary invasion of privacy. If I want people to know when I'm online, I'll post it in chat.
The other issue here is that adding an online indicator would be very taxing on the servers, having to pull all that information each time someone wants it.
Hope that clears this up, and I'll close this now since it is still a ruled out idea.
