So today, I looked at the "Ruled out ideas" thread.
And then I saw something.
One of the ruled out ideas was having a indicater of who was on or not.
I don't understand why that was ruled out.
Most of the things ruled out in that list had obvious reasons why they were ruled out, but that idea did not.
Any ideas why?
Some people want privacy and with this feature clan elders or leaders could be invading that privacy by demanding online time and kicks if not. This would make clans more into guilds as in big pc mmo's and thats not what this game is about, its about fun and socializing.
Besides, theres no need for this feature and it'll label people, something noone is waiting on.
"oh he is always online what a nolifer"
"omg i never see him online we should kick him"
and the obvious
"if you dont start being online more we will kick you"
troop donation count already has enabled most clans to put pressure on their players by demanding a min donation amount, which is good, but it shouldnt go to far.
i remember my mmorpg days where " if you arent online on saturday you will be booted" was normal, and this should not happen to a casual mobile platform game.
on a sidenote, the dedicated clans and farming clans already know whos always there and who isnt.
Just privacy, but I think it could be added, and you can just 'Hide' if you want to remain offline, but really you're online:rolleyes:
Sometimes, I just wanna play, without anyone knowing. I just don't feel like talking, just playing, minding my own business.
I don't like the idea of an online/offline indicator. :/

And if ppl are going to kick because ppl aren't online, then clan chat should be a good indication for that.
"Hello player x, are you there?". If no response in the next few mins (allowing for battle and search time), then I guess you can go with them not being online.
Alternatively, let ppl choose if they want to be hidden, or displayed as online, and u might get a more favourable response.
I believe it has more to do with the system being stressed, constantly pinging each and every player to determine who's online.
You can always ask "who's on?" In clan chat, and 99% of the time everybody will check in within a minute or two
It is an invasion of privacy, and I do not want to have all my clan mates be alerted every time I log on. That goes for most people. If you want get argue about a ruled out idea, argue about the ruled out idea of a sound indicator when camps are full.
