TH8 with full skull walls or TH9 with working builders

I don't know what to do. I've heard people say its better to go to TH9 and not have your builders sitting around, but I've also heard people say its better to stay at TH8 and live with the consequences of idle builders. Obviously, first I would try get 6 million gold/elixir and 40-80k DE for AQ. I have the troops to farm with balloonion. I'm a maxed TH8 except I have 90/225 skull walls. The only troop upgrades I haven't done are lv 3 Dragons, lv 3 Pekkas, and all the DE troops except Minions, which are lv 4.

Around 40% better attacking at the cost of some walls?
Surely go to Th9.

I'm in the same boat OP. Maxed TH8 except I have about 100 skull walls left to farm. My OCD won't let me go until I finish em, but everyone I talk with says to make the jump to TH9.

I don't see why you would ever let builders sleep. If you didn't do the walls in the 2-3 months of TH 8, why would you be able to do them now?

the reason people unanimously say spend gems on builders first is to keep more upgrades going. People will be really split between maxing th8 and jumping up to 9 but my advice is to go to th 9 to get those elixir updates going, so your not wasting farmed elixir during the days that it takes to get all that gold. just go to th 9, spend the 10 days farming walls, and finish the rest the first few days of th 9 when all ur upgrades cost elixir and not gold. but everyone has their own play style so do what suits you!

It is always the best thing to do.
Because
1. search cost increase from 580 to 750. 170 gold doenst look a lot, but if you pile up, it may save you a ton.
2. loot penalty makes you hardly able to raid th-7, you have more option to attack, you even can have more loot to raid when attacking th-10
3. boosting is going to end soon, you are not going to have another boosting chance any time soon (just guessing) to farm for walls.
4. when you upgrade to th-9, you have tons of things to do, max xbows, do another 25 walls, bla bla bla... then you will have no time to focus your walls for a good 1-2 months. Unless you are a dedicated farmer and always leave an idle builder.
5. purple walls doenst look sexy for th-9
6. idle builder is not a big deal just a little waste of time but with this boost , you only will waste 1/2 weeks max before you max out ur walls. (if you farm hard you can even finish in one week with the boost)

Reminder:
1. remember to time you th-9 upgrade, you can do some walls while upgrading th-9.
2. farm as much DE before you reach th-9.
3. try to finish your research before you th-8 journey ends, elixir ones, not DE ones.
4. max traps too if you want to be completely maxed out.
5. you dont have to finish your DE upgrades besides Minions(its a must because Ballonion or BAM or whatever army you use that requires minions), Hogs(if you use them a lot, or plan to use them more often in the future), Golems(same as hogs but upgrade hogs first if you want to upgrade golems). You dont have to care abt valks.
6. get those decoration if you want to be completely MAXED OUT as a townhall 8. Nothing much, its just cool.

i max them out too btw (walls, and only max minion in the dark troop upgrades, others is still lvl1).

Hey, I'd say jump to TH9. Take it from me, I've been TH9 for less than 2 weeks and i maxed walls at TH8. Since becoming a TH9 I've farmed all my new walls to L8, plus 29 walls are already L9. That's on top of both xbows being L1, new wizard tower, air defense, archer tower, and tesla being built and I'm griding them up to par. Loot at TH9 is better than TH for the simple fact you he more army camp space and higher troops.

Th9 with working builders bro... If I play 24 hours a day without life and boost barrack I will get 30 millions gold a day :P

Loot has been so great I've had to purchase a few gems to cut down build time on both my xbows and my lab. And elixir is so full (after building lab, spell factory, and all 4 army camps) that I've been farming with troops like drags and wizards and balloons(which are already L6). And with all those upgrades I've even fit in time to get BL to 11 and AQ is now building to L5.....


Don't be afraid to take the plunge to TH9. Loot is great. You won't regret it.
