Thread created to give a place where clan members can discuss topics and where we can recruit new, experienced players.

Rules of Omnium:
Omnium is a fairly new clan and still finding its feet so rules are still developing. Those currently agreed are:
> Required trophies (to join clan) set at variable levels. Exceptions for players with lower trophy counts are made with agreement of a co-leader.
> Activity. Players are encouraged to be active, but the following measures are deemed minimum
- Minimum donation of 300 troops (or space equivalent) in a given league (up to but NOT including the last 12 hours of a league as this is the time during which members not meeting this criteria are encouraged to leave).
- Must be active (use attacks) in Clan Wars. Any member inactive for two consecutive wars are encouraged to leave. Players not selected for Clan Wars are exempt.
> Elder status is earned if players are registered members of this forum AND meet one of the following criteria:
i) Reach Master League
ii) Donate over 3,000 troops (or space equivalent) in a single league.
iii) is nominated for Elder by at least three other members of the clan (One of whom must already be Elder). Nominations via this Forum thread only. A clan Co-Leader must approve if not involved in nominations.

Rules continue to be discussed throughout this thread and those set above are subject to ongoing review.

Rules of Omnium 2:
- Minimum donations of 150 (or space equivalent) in a given league (up to but NOT including the last 12 hours of a league as this is the time during which members not meeting this criteria are encouraged to leave).
-Must be active (use attacks) in Clan Wars. Any member inactive for two consecutive wars are encouraged to leave. Players not selected for Clan Wars are exempt.
- Elder status is earned by reaching 1500 donations (or space equivalent) in any given league
- Elder status can also be earned by members who are active on the Omnium forum.

Currently seeking 5 new clan mates with 1,100 trophies or more.

progress remains steady. three new crystal leaguers and a new high clan trophy points tally.

Still two two spaces free for new memebers.

Would be great to have an experienced players to show the rest of us the way to the higher leagues.

May I join your clan? I'm lv36 and waiting for my upgrade to th7 to finish. I might be low leveled but I'm a daily player (heavy play during weekends) and really enjoy playing. I dropped significant trophies to safely and quickly farm (currently around 850) but prior to that I was sitting comfortably at around 1250-1320 (if you want proof, look at my third builder). Due to my life as a student, I find myself donating a lot during the weekdays because time is a constraint. I'll have no problem donating 200+ per session. I know I'm below the required trophy count, however I will be pushing now since I have started my upgrade to th7. Here is my info:

For dk:
Ok. In my final 45 minute barrack boost for 1 gem session I achieved the following...:

9 attacks (6 wins and 3 defeats)
1.95 m Gold
1.52 m Elixir
1.4 k Dark Elixir

I was gold farming so elixir and dark elixir hauls were a bonus (albeit I have a surplus of elixir until I up TH)
My best attck yielded 322k gold
My worse 110 k but only used a handful of barbs and goblins to raid production sites visibly full.

I used a total of 164 searches or skips, 8 lightening spells and 1 rage spell

A single space now exists in Omnium for any active players with 1200 or more trophies.
Come find us and join but first come first served!

Right clan members we need some defined rules for the following:

Required trophy count
Attrition of players (definition of activity)
Trophy pushes

I've been setting this by taking the median trophy count of clan members and rounding it up to the nearest 100.
e.g. If clan is full, take the trophy count of the 25th player and round up.

Does this work? Any other way to do it?

I've just kicked members who were inactive for the past three weeks.
This was verified via my screenshots as at the end of the last league plus the current profile stats and non-league entry.
I have purposefully left all other players as they have shown activity and we don't want to create too much space in the clan.

I'm going to be stepping down from the Clan Leader position at the end of January. In the spirit of Omnium, it's time to hand over the baton to someone who can steer the clan through the next phase of its path to glory!

We, therefore, need to elect a new leader.

My suggestion is that people put down here their votes and use this forum to present their arguments for their own leadership (should they want it).

I will then add up the votes at the end of the month and promote the lucky winner accordingly. If no votes are cast, I'll pick someone I think will do a good job.

To be honest, the thought of a new leader is making me nervous. I'd like the clan to be placed in the hands of someone who can be trusted. Someone always on and willing to help. But surely you have set the bar high for all wanting this position, Geko. (:

Think we should introduce earn elder for loyalty and activity, few people have joined and asked why we give leer straight away, what's everyone's thoughts on this?

There is an argument for this Evad.
We must be careful how to implement this as removing the elder status from the whole clan may leave us answering questions for quite a while too.

The ethos of Omnium was that it was a clan for everyone, and like our old clan, the promotion to elder has it's benefits. Firstly, it gives people a sense of belonging and responsiblity, but also that of saftey (no one can kick them except for the leader). This broke down in our old clan as the leader was simply not active.

I'm happy to implment a rule, but it must be just that. Furthermore, it must be constructed in such a way that people cannot take it upon themselves to kick people they personally don't like (for whatever reason) without suffering consequences (demotion from elder).

Finally, if we are to implement this, I think we should limit the number of elders and position this so it becomes an achieable achievement but doesn't end up with the whole clan being elder...

OK let's start:
Elder status awared if either:
> Crystal league achieved (reflects ability)
> Donations in a single league exceed 3000
> Member nominated for elder by at least three other members (via this forum).

Clearly the first needs to be amended when we all reach the Crystal league, but for the majority, this is achievable now.

Nice rules geko, this was a long the lines of what I was thinking. we really need to define some rules as we are starting to attract some great players and the more organised and unified we are the further the clan can go. We are not doing two bad for a two month old clan, we have a few that are sticking to the clan and showing their loyalty.

Agree with your comments Evad. Going to give people to the end of the week and then demote everyone (except you, because you're Crystal!).

We'll run with the above rules until we get more contributions or until we decide they need reshaping.

I am glad(and hope) to see that our clan is moving forward with setting the new standards and rules. I honestly think that a small number of our members are going to feel compromized by the new rules.

Being Elder does come with responsibilities I think. Elders should be seen to promote the clan and it's rules whilst trying to maintain the sense of helpfulness and kindness which our members like. There are a few people that left Omnium who are now back with us stating that this is the best clan. We need to keep it so :)

Has anyone got any ideas for a set of guidelines for Elders?
Do we need to have a maximum number of Elders?
Etc etc.

As far as the rules for becoming an elder are set up we should keep that way for certain period of time.
In the future, we should think about changes which will depend on situation in Omnium.
Elder:
-commitment
-loyalty
-active
-helpful
-leader should trust him/her (very important)

Numbers of elders should be at least 15(at the moment). We should try to cover 24 hours with one elder min. and don't forget about time zones and players all around the world.

Id like to say i think dadude is a perfect guy for our clan he does donate healers and drags! So dadude has my vote for elder.

Dk, thank you for your vote. And I see someone, (we all know who), has attempted to steal your "identity". I agree with the idea of trophy pushing to beat our previous achievements as a clan. We really have something going for us and this forum is truly helping out.

I think that promoting to co-leader should be exclusive right of clan leader. To set up some general rules is OK but voting wouldn't be fine. Leader could come in position to veto the members votes and that is not good. As I stated before we should have more elders at the moment but in the same moment start with only one co-leader. I propose our clan rules for elder to finish till sunday. Until that to set up new rules more reachable for clan members.

Nobody is speaking about leader...your stepping down. Maybe they still don't believe in it. They use to you :) and that is great. I don't want this to sound like persuading you to change your decision but...introducing co-leaders is great opportunity to still have you. You will have a lot of help wit your co-leaderS and it will save your time. So I changed my mind. Geko, because of new updates and rules stays leader. In that case you (and our clan) will need minimum two(2) co-leaders.

Actually, and without talking about who will be leader from Saturday onwards, I think this post is spot on. Taking a moment to think it through, like Nem clearly has, I agree that it would place any leader in a difficult position if he felt he should veto the choice of co-leader. Furthermore, the leader really should have the right to chose his own leadership team. Finally, the leader should have the right to chose as few or as many co-leaders he or she feels necessary.

This, in my opinion, also adds weight to the argument for more Elders - again as Nemnimir has already pointed out. The introduction of a second tier of management allows this and goes someway to make more clan members feel that they can help steer the clan forward.

Well done Nem; a very valid contribution here.

In light of the fact that there has been very few proposals for a new leader, and due to the introduction of the co-leaders, I have decided to stay on as leader.

As my original argument was to pass the baton onto someone else as the commitment of my time was too great, I will be looking to co-leaders to help out wherever possible. However, as the month has progressed, I believe that this is already happening especially by those who I have chosen as my initial co-leaders.

I hope the clan will help me in congratulating dk and nemnimir on their promotion to clan co-leader.

Dont forget that we need more elders, so either donate like mad, get to crystal or get those nominations in.

i thought maybe if i made a brother clan with a few other lower level people in current clan, this would allow your clan more space for better people.Then over time my clan will become good, with the help of yours or something along those lines.

A good idea is forming here Beechy
A lot of the top clans have feeder clans whereby the top clans only invite people who prove themselves in their feeder clans whilst the feeder clan itself remains open to all.
For this to work effectively, I should imagine there needs to be sufficient demand to join the lead clan and then significant organization between clans.
So for Omnium; we either need sufficient demand or we need to become the feeder clan to a higher clan.

Right here, right now, I don't think we have the demand to warrent a feeder. Perhaps when we are 20000 trophies or more we can look again. This is my opinion so others please chip in here.

As as for an out and out, equal clan, I'm sure it's me being slow today, but what would the benefits be? Share membership across each part of the group so we split all players so as to support more up and coming?

At the end (well as close to the end as I can get before falling asleep) of the first ever trophy push, I thought I'd report some stats:

Total Points: 16,790
Members: 47/50
Type: Anyone can join
Required trophies: 1,500

In total the Clan end the league with 69,650 trophies (I added them all up and have to admit I don't know how to calculate the total points...yet).
If I look in peoples profiles and take their best trophy count the clan maximum is 76,063 trophies.
So by way of measure (and I've no idea if this is any good or not) we end the league with a trophy count of 91 % of the maximum. Not bad I'd say.

The clan ranking is based on the number of trophies of its members. This value is weighted according to the following table.

I like the weighting which Supercell have devised here. Allows a strong clan to have a smaller number of up and coming members and adds to the satisfaction that they get by doing so. Suggest we keep Cole (if he remains active of course) for the time being.

Co-Leader is not earns Beechy. It is up to the clan leader to decide who is best placed to help him/her out.

As as nemnimir posted on the IG chat; Omnium means 'for all' so, as long as they remain active, the people filling the lower positions are all welcome in the clan. Two key points to remember here: Firstly inactive members are encouraged to seek new clans, and secondly the required trophy count (to join the clan) is moving up just ahead of the median of the clan. The latter implies that, through natural churn of members we attract, on avalerage, better players than left the clan so we are going to end up with fewer in the lower positions with low trophy counts. This has actually already happened in Omnium. When the clan was first set up about half the clan was in the Bronze leagues - now we only have one member.

Was thinking;

> every other league is too frequent, doesn't give people the time to improve towns and defenses between pushes.
> need to make them infrequent enough to remain exciting
> need to publicise in advance so people can complete defenses etc.
> people need to save up for a push

Lessons learnt for me from the last push
> takes a long time to progress when you reach a natural maximum (I.e. Takes a long time to build armies and spells and you need to do this in order to secure victory)
> resources are finite. Despite having an abundance of elixir when farming, I spent the last three days of the push totally skint.
> in relation to the point above, need to remain economical in the early stages of a push
> don't think about building. Towns are much less prone to attack if there is not available loot and it's hard to find the good to use for upgrades during a push.

How do people think about having a push every fourth league? i.e. One push then three farming?

Some great ideas being suggested. I personally think a push at the end of every quarter for now. Like Geko said it becomes very expensive and having it bit more of a breather gives people longer to upgrade stuff.

Troop donations i still think need to be looked at, certain members have now gone through 2 seasons and no donations but receiving troops. Not sure how we manage this but think if people do this consistently they should be asked to leave.

A few people have mentioned recently about people requesting troops that they can't actually provide themselves what's peoples thoughts on this as a rule.

How do we vote?

Suggest you just post here and make clear what it is you're voting for.

Eg voting for a new elder or (if we decide to implement a mechanism) voting for a removal.

do we need a method through which clan members can demonstrate and thus request the need to remove a clan member? I know that in the past, some of our younger members have been offended by some if Alec's discussion and I've been asked to kick various people.

Whilst we we could leave this down to the decisions of the elders, co-leaders or leader, I wondered if there should be something more structured.

Thoughts please.

I think yes votes is some way to manage it however I think leader and co leaders have responsibility to nip some things in the bud. If bad language, taste is shown then a warning should be given or a reminder that it's not tolerated. If people persist I think the leader or co leader should make decision there and then. Can elders still kick people?

As far as votes,,not sure exactly how this would work!

Yes - agree with your comments here. Leader and co-leaders should feel they can kick whoever, whenever (clearly need a good reason). As for Elder; they can kick ordinary clan-mates, but not Elders or co-leaders.

Let's leave it at that - i.e. no need to set something formal. This forum is always here for people to come and have a moan to us anyway.

I'm opening it up so we can discuss troop donations within the clan, certain clan members have had zero troop donations for more than 1, 2 and even three leagues in succession. Whilst we are still growing and finding our feet I think we need to visit this and discuss a plan moving forward.

I'll start :)
Good to see that others are thinking about rules - constantly refreshing them is the way to prevent them getting stagnant and keep the relevant to our clan.

I think you're right too Evad. Whilst it was OK in the very early days to carry people, I think the clan has progressed a lot since then and now might be the right time to start setting more defined boundaries. Furthemore, like inactive members who neither donate, receive or raid, it doesn't look particularly good to prospective players who are looking for a new clan.

So; to have a stab at a rule:
Let's look at an example.
We have a a minimum requirement of 200 troops donations per league for non-new members. That's 100 per week on average (but doesn't necessarily mean 100 in every week).

If we applied this rule at the end of the last league (admittedly giving no one any warning), we would have lost 22 players. They were:

On the same basis; if we lowered the requirement by half (100 donations in a league) then we would have lost 20 players. So to me, it's not really about the number of required donations - any rule would sort out those that don't really donate.

Pragmatically, I think a rule would require the commitment of the leadership team (Elders, Co-leaders and leader) to promote active recruitment at all opportunities*. A rule like this would hit the clan hard to start with (albeit would create less churn in members going forward) but would require a bit effort to keep the membership above the 40 mark.

So we should also consider lowering the required trophy count for new members (something which greatly assists the recruitment process) - and to do that, we need to review the existing rule on that front (who said running a clan was easy....right !).


*shout out to BasedGod and TuBBa who, outside the leadship team, have been actively recruiting on Global Chat. Perhaps we need a new rule to get Elder status for those who are promoting Omnium and recruiting (but that's a discussion for another day I think!)

Hey Geko I completely agree with everything you said in the last post especially making it a goal to keep the membership above 40. As inactive as some of those members are and there lack of donations, losing 22 members would be devastating. Thanks for the shout btw.

As per in game chat - the affect would not be quite as devestating as we'd give people notice that the rule was coming in. Suggest we discuss in this league and implement in the next. That way everyone is aware of what they need to do to keep a place in our clan.

Hey Geko I don't know if you have seen but in the last day we have gained a lot if new members and are now full! Great work everyone! In regard to that, I think we need to discuss weather or not to kick the inactive members considering our recent jump in member population. If we want to make room for new members i think we need to kick some of the inactives. It has nearly been a week since this league started and if you have not been active by now, then I seriously doubt they will show any activity in the remainder of the league. Thoughts?

I would like to propose the rules for donations and activity issues:

-every member must donate at least 300 troops per season otherwise he/she will be asked to leave the clan. Troop donations should be count on daily bases for members that enter the clan through the season (e.g. somebody enter the clan 5 days before the end of season must donate 5 days X 20 troops= 100 troops).

-every member who is inactive whole season would be forced to leave the clan.

*Leader or co leaders are going to remind members who are in situation for kicking 5 days before season ends via clan mail. And finally the last call 24 hours before the season ends.
Every new member should be informed about clan rules by Elders, co leaders or Leader.

If at the end of the season according the set up rules we lose more than 20 members the rule will not be applied and should be modified.

I think that even though these rules are said to be going into affect in the upcoming league, I for one think that those members who have been inactive the whole league should be kicked immeadiately. After two weeks of inactivity they do not deserve another chance. These members are not contributing to the clan and giving them an extra two weeks will not make a difference.

i also tend to agree with the previous post by BasedGod.

Just be aware that if we get ruthless we'll need commitment from the elders and above to actively recruit new members.

I will update post #1 tomorrow just before we have a large clearout!

I have also taken screenshots of the clan listing tonight so I will know who was inactive and who didn't donate.

Re: rules for donations:
I've updated post #1 with the fact that clan mates need to donate 300 per league. I've also had a clearout (no point in keeping leeches in the clan).

However, I think it's going to be hard to police donations for new players so I've left this part out. This essentially means that if you have a 'NEW' next to your name you are exempt. I think we should manage these people by exception and kick them if they appear to continually leave and renter the clan in order to avoid the application of this rule.

You have all probably noticed that many members have been reaching crystal lately. With that comes promotions. I have been thinking about this issue and i believe that from now on we should get rid of the qualification of crystal for elder. The main reason i think this is because reaching crystal and receiving elder for it shows nothing about your time spent with the clan. For example, Liz she has been a good and pretty active member omnium, but she entered as crystal and was almost immeadiately given elder. With this comes risks, we don't really know this new member she hasn't spent any time with the clan, how can we trust her? This is an issue for the elders and leaders to decide, but I think the right decision would be to no longer have this as a qualification for elder.

I would love to discuss this issue so feel free to comment on it.

Also, I do not believe that beechy is qualified for co leader, nor do i believe he deserves elder. With his on and off activity and his frequent requests for the position he is not ready for the responsibility, neither is just setting up a feeder clan a good qualifier. This is again up to the current leaders i am Just stating my opinion.

Really great to see people thinking about the rules. I have to say, I think you have a very valid point. Quite what to do about it is still up for debate.
Do you think that we should raise the bar - say Elder if you get to Crystal II or Crystal I?

The counter argument is that made by Nemnimir when we discussed the rule when implemented. He stated that we need lots of Elders to help run the clan, to be online all the time and to police unwanted visitors.

Finally, to make the point; the rules that we have developped for Omnium are, and should always remain fluid. By that, I mean that they should constantly be challenged and adapted to suit the needs of the clan. I commend you for thinking about the rule and for raising this here. Great work BasedGod.

Thanks too for this comment. I have not yet given any serious consideration to the 'qualifying criteria' for Elder. To be honest, I'm not sure we need to develop this as Co-leaders should be chosen by the leader alone. I don't think that I'm going to be Leader of Omnium for ever (just being honest!) and that means I need to pave the way for the next leader. The one thing I will do before handing over leadership is to demote co-leaders to elders so that the new leader can make his/her choices.

I'm happy to be challenged on this (to develop criteria) if the clan really want this.
Going back to your earlier point - which I think is related - I think we should make Elder status tough enough to be a real achievement so that reaching this is honourable. This would remove the need for people to 'chase' the Co-leader status.

I recently left my clan that I was ranked elder in. It started as a small group of friends playing, but it soon turned in to a community clan with no rules and nobody cared. And so I left.. I just want a group where I don't get level 1 barbarians the second that I request troops. Please let me join. Lol

Hi, I would be interested in joining Omnium. I'm currently a town hall 7 w/ lvl 4 archers lvl 1 drags and lvl 4 wizards. Also, i have a lot of rl friends that are also th 7 w/ about the same troops and same trophy range that would follow me to a new clan. My ign is justin. It would be awesome if i could join Omnium! thanks :)

A couple of new rules which I think would benefit the clan.

> Elders must be registered on the forum.
This would be a must regardless of how members become elders by the existing qualifying criteria. E.g. Donate 3000 troops in a single league AND be a member of the forum; Receive three nominations AND be a member of the forum.

> New players must meet the minimum trophy requirement.
It has come to my attention that people are recruiting from global chat which is great. However, they are not abiding by the trophy requirement. If people are recruited who fall below the trophy requirement then they can expect to be booted by a co-leader or elder.

I agree with the forum registration idea. Its a good way to stay in touch and approach conversations privately if need be.
As for the up in position, if we are enforcing the trophy requirements, it shouldn't be a big deal. If a member is that motivated, eventually he or she will get there. Or become a member on the forum(:
