To be honest, I never use this tactic because it is quite a low and dirty tactic to use. However if someone drops lightning spells on my dark elixir storage/drills, I will revenge them and do the same thing.
it's not cheap to do it. Those spells are very expensive :p
Used to do it a lot on th7 when saving up for BK since that was the most efficient way... but now on th9.... naahhh i just steamroll punks on 1800-2000 trophys for 1500-2000 DE instead.
On th7 its very viable, after that, rather cheap IMO since you can easily obtain DE in other ways after th7
Who cares really just do it,its in the game so use it!Some people call it cheap but ur risking a revenge off a much stronger player (usually) so its not as if its a win/win
This topic has been discussed so many times.
My personal opinion is that supercell allowed it in the rules, so it is therefore moral. I don't use it as it is not a sustainable raiding tactic, but I won't revenge someone just because they lightninged my DE.

If you are revenging someone much much stronger than yourself and that's all you can do to hurt them, fair enough...but to use it as a fighting strategy is super lame imo and WILL make me revenge you just on principle.. and I know quite a few others who feel the same.
So if you zap people unprovoked...be prepared for the revenge, is all I'm saying.
