I personally like it, the tasks are easy to accomplish and i like the rewards.
It’s so fun!! I really like it and it was worth the wait all day eheh I like that we can win “sun’s” quite easily. I think this is a new fun way of playing Hay Day ;)
I agree, and i get excited with what the next tasks/rewards will be. Great job to hayday team! Now i am more motivated to do tasks and to catch more chickens😁
Dislike. I tried it, I'm not interested in it at all....
Things I’ve observed. Overall, I like the new area but there are real improvements needed to lower frustrations.
* I don’t like the clouds OR having to drive to see if I can do a building task
* I like being able to earn more fuel by doing tasks on the farm/pond.
* I don’t like having to go through so many screens to do a task to get back to the valley. On my newest iPad it’s just doable. On my older iPad it’s torture.
* Like the town used to be, I don’t like having to remember what I need to do on the farm to get back to the valley. We need the valley board to act like the town board, please.
* Apparently when the device I’m using for one of my farms goes to sleep to conserve the battery, my farm disappears from the valley even though my farm is still in the valley. I don’t like this.
* Every time a farm leaves the valley to do something on the farm, it disappears from the valley. I see why this one happens (real time) but I don’t like it much either. I’ll learn to live with it I suppose.
* one of my tasks is to help a player repair a broken truck. None of the trucks are broken.
Aside: will the broken truck show that’s its broken - like the screaming chicken - or do I have to tap them?Back to topic: What if in my valley people keep going in and out and new people replace them and no trucks ever break down for me. Will I be able to switch out that task or just have to give up as the season ends?
SPECIFIC TRIAL OBSERVATIONS:
* To help with the trial - on one of my farms I can see all my farms. On the others, there’s hardly anyone in the valley and only one of my other farms even though they are all in the valley.
* My main farm snagged the chicken that needed rescuing. None of my other farms have a chance to get one. That’s fine if that’s how it’s supposed to work. But then why is there a large screaming chicken over one of the buildings? When I tap it says I’m too far away but I don’t want to drive there and not be able to help. Of course, I also CAN’T drive there because I don’t have enough fuel and have used up all I can get at the moment on that farm.
Frustrating.
First off, this update has made the game unplayable on my tablet. Runs fine on my phone, but crashes repeatedly on my tablet, so I'm a little sad about having to switch to a smaller screen.
My first visit there was absolutely nothing to do. All shops in range were on a 30 minute cooldown, even though the only thing I did was the fuel spin.
My board and daily tasks keep resetting. First it had around 7 hours until new tasks. Moments later, I completed 1 of the 4, and then I had a new set of 4 with 23 hours remaining and no progress.
I hate the clouds, and not knowing where a certain shop is for the visit specific shop daily. I don't like playing guessing or memory games. Guess they want us to waste fuel trying to find things.
Also, losing fuel spin progress unless you drop everything and go spin it now is annoying. One of my tasks for new spins was placing lobsters or ducks. So I had to place 2, then go back to my farm, then to the valley and spin the wheel. Then back to my farm, to go back to the fishing area to finish placing my traps. So tedious.
So far I'm not impressed and feeling no urgency to upgrade my tablet. I'll either deal with the smaller screen or just walk away.
I agree on the clouds part, it can be quite annoying especially when scanning the whole valley. And yeah valley task board like the town one would be a huge help as it will make it easier to keep track of tasks without going back and forth (multiple screens) into the valley.
Graphics cant compare with the rest of the farm, seem drawn by and for toddlers.
The fuel amount makes this area unplayable. I got 7 to start with and ended up going to a building that some got to seconds before me. Now I have to wait for a new order. Also I got a delivery order and found out after I took it that I didn't have another 7 fuel to deliver it.
I managed to earn another spin but with the amount of suns needed to get a spin increasing exponentially it make it impossible. This is not stress free Hay Day! I'm very disappointed we waited so long for this. If it weren't for the fuel and clouds it might actually be fun.
I think along the way Hayday will resolve minor gltiches like inconsistent time remaining on tasks/resetting issues and we will have more maintenance update.
Re fuel, if there is no fuel i agree the valley part would be totally stress free and perfect...but i think the team wants us to do an extra step to earn the rewards as the tasks are too easy to accomplish. Though if given a choice i’d be happier without the fuel part too😉
It’s very stressful and needlessly confusing.
You should be be able to bank sun points for fuel, I dropped 3 lobster nets when I only needed 20 more points and the third set of points just disappeared. NOT COOL!!!!
the clouds are lame. Just show us the map. We know we can’t get there from here, but show us anyway. We can’t get anywhere anyway.
Filling 4 crates for 10 sun points is crazy town. A friend only has to grow sugarcane....I could also feed cows but I’m using rose right now and stacking for derby so that’s a fail.
I suspect the graphics are being kept minimal to avoid a long loading time or make the game too much bigger. I’m ok with it but the clouds, again, make it seem silly.
Very disappointed. This is the worse update I've seen in Hay Day. They simply should have made some updates that users have suggested, instead they made the game play worse. Very frustrated and stressful. Do not like anything about the new area. Have not heard any good comments from my neighborhood. This is one area that will be avoided by my neighborhood.
Im quite sad to know that there are a many members here that are disappointed. And i do understand also why because of the many valid points they have shared.
Maybe i am just too easy to please that is why i feel i enjoyed the update despite the fuel and cloud parts. But i hope the hayday team responds to the observations made by everyone and improvements can be made along the way😊
It’s still very buggy for me. After spinning the wheel, I got 6 more fuels but my fuel can doesn’t show the new number, so I’m still out of fuel and can’t do anything!
Frustrating. Lost tons of sun points because I didn't know you had to go spin right away once you earned enough points.
Also my chat feature is no longer working on my tablet since the update, so I can't communicate with my neighbors.
Agree that the clouds are annoying and the whole area is confusing. Haven't been able to complete any tasks or collect any tokens yet due to delays on tasks.
The clouds are worse than lame. They’re ridiculous. Sorry. But they are. They, all by themselves, and then together with the “you must drive closer to see details” completely eliminate strategy. You can’t SEE where on the map you can use to take the shortest route. You don’t KNOW if when you get there you’ll be able to do the thing. You don’t KNOW if when you get there the thing will give you the last few tokens of a specific kind you need to buy the three certificates in the shop so you can at last open up the land on the main farm!
Those clouds really, truly have to go, as do the “mystery tasks”. This is not stress free and it’s rapidly becoming not fun.
I have a quest to visit 2 houses with black roofs. I visited 3 and it didn't count. Annoying
Seriously?!?
All spring......and THIS is what you come up with?!?
My second trip to the valley shows outsider trucks parked at every one of my buildings....just waiting....
Golly, this is SUCH fun!!! //sarcasm off
The clouds don't let you see anything. I am supposed to set a duck or lobster trap and there is no water. How long do I sit and wait? No thanks. My gaming time is limited. I got 6 gas tokens so I went to 3 houses. Now what? Nothing. Sit and wait. No thank you. Let me see what I need to do and let me do it. It's not a play area. It's just another wheel to spin but it will take 2 minutes instead of 10 Seconds. Hugely disappointed.
The clouds add nothing not being able to store sun points is crazy. They added new tokens to collect that go away it says after each session not desirable. There are many things to keep track of - how to reload fuel, what you need to fulfill a vanishing task, what tasks are needed, what tasks give fuel this time.
Flying trucks that was misrepresented totally this is like going to the fishing area or the town.
This is not a favorite update.
I'm not as bothered by the "sun activities" tasks as some. Contrariwise, this may be in part that I got some relatively easy ones for today; tomorrow's look quite a lot more objectionable. I'm also a little anxious about what happens to sun points at the timer reset. Nohow, having excess sun points (beyond those needed to earn the new spin) carry over (toward the next spin) would seem equitable and desirable from the player standpoint.
I'm not sure on what point the "fog of war" cloud cover has. Making it harder to find chickens?
One significant subjective defect from the player perspective is that unlike town, truck board, or boat orders, Valley orders do NOT warn you how many of the item you have. This seems a tweak that be easy to change. (I don't know if Valley orders warn you that you are about to hand off your last crop or not, but presume they do. If not, that seems something that ABSOLUTELY should be changed. Pardon me if I don't try to check it out.)
Given the length of the Valley Season, compared to the availability of fuel and frequency of encountering chickens, 50 chickens to unlock the premium section of the shop (IE: expansion scrolls and puzzle pieces) seems a little high. Doing some math.... chances on fuel spins are about even for 6,7,8, or 9 fuel; average is around 7.5/spin. Getting to a chicken seems to take (wild estimate) 20 fuel; that is, about 3 spins. 5 spins seems about the limit of what's practical in a 6-hour window, which gives maybe 15 spins per day if the player sleeps 8 hours a day, or about 110 fuel; getting 50 chickens would need 1000 fuel, or circa 9 days. Since the initial season is only going to be about 3 days, that seems way out of reach -- and this does not consider the impact of breakdowns on play.
Starting the first (zeroth?) Valley Season during a (farm) "Visitor Bonus" event may be making it somewhat more challenging, due to the effect such events have on product/crop demand and consequently ads in the Daily Dirt. I'm guessing that this may have been deliberate, as part of stress testing.
It seems interesting, and may be worth playing with, but it's not clear yet how its trade-offs will balance for players.
I just wish there was a way to see my barn/silo from the valley screen. I've gone to deliver something only to realize I don't have it after I get there. I also want to see the whole map without all the mist. How am I supposed to know what direction to go to get to the places in my daily tasks? Also, the amount of sun tokens increasing exponentially is such ♥♥♥♥, I truly hate that.
Other than that and the glitches they seem to be in the process of fixing, I've been enjoying the valley so far. It adds an interesting dynamic to the game.
I think I would have been happier to have new machines, products, crops, etc. SC should do what they do best and stop with the silly stuff like this, zoo animals, etc
I'm pretty sure that the Zoo/Sanctuary animals were done to help re-balance the game by providing a new source of demand for wheat. It's now possible to find things advertised that are NOT 10 wheat @ 36 coinis.
This week's "Valley Season" feels like an "open beta" Dev stage.
Does anyone know if the fuel tank has a limit? On one farm I had 3 fuel and spun for more without thinking. I held my breath but it registered 12 after I spun 9. If there is a limit, I would like to know so that I don’t waste spins in the future.
The update was not in the App Store before I went to sleep last night and the season had ended when I opened everything this morning Have not seen the valley yet so will wait and see but feeling underwhelmed so far.
I realize there are still bugs to be worked out, but so far I’m completely frustrated with the Valley. I got some fuel, but then wasn’t able to go anywhere. I’m supposed to visit the fish shop, complete a group request, and fill some order requests, but I don’t see where/how to do any of those. I saw a cinema and tapped on that, but it said there wouldn’t be a task available for half an hour. Then the game crashed, and it’s now in a very long maintenance.
So I haven’t been able to explore the Valley at all. But from what others have said, it doesn’t sound either fun or stress-free to me. I like the concept, and I think it could be fun if it weren’t for the drawbacks that others have mentioned, including not being able to see where you need to go because of the clouds, using fuel to go to a building without knowing what the request is or what the rewards will be, and not being able to get enough fuel to do very much.
Also, the items I can purchase in the regular shop are completely underwhelming and nothing special (not even an expansion permit). I do like the items in the exclusive shop, but the way the Valley is set up, I seriously doubt I’m going to be able to get those. I’m trying to keep an open mind about this because it’s new and I haven’t figured out how it works yet, but at the moment this looks like the most disappointing update ever.
We are in maintenance again and my dinner is cooking so here’s my two cents on the valley.....
- Love the idea. It seems like a cool addition and it’s connected to primary farming. It’s also cooperative in principle. Bravo.
- It’s too hard. I grew sugarcane for 3 straight hours, and filled 24 boat crates to get fuel only to generate enough tokens that would buy me 1 shovel. 1 shovel !!! Are you kidding me? Guess what, I got 2 shovels, 2 bems, 3 mining tools, and 7 axes while growing the sugarcane, I would have gotten more if I was growing corn like I usually do. Seriously. There’s a perspective problem with the reward/activity ratio. Make it worthwhile or no one will bother. Tomorrow I’ll be growing corn. Not lettuce.
- Meanwhile, I want those permits. Everyone does. But it’s not clear how to get chickens or how if it’s taken me 6 hours to get 4 of them I’m going to collect 46 more in 2.5 days. If I don’t get those permits, I’m not bothering with the valley. End of story. You need to make it clear how chickens are acquired and what exactly needs to be done to get them faster.
- The clouds are dumb. You can’t see the buildings to complete quests, you can’t plan your fuel stops, you can’t see broken trucks or screaming chickens (group tasks). Just make it go away.
- The delivery task is fine but it’s weird not knowing how far away you have to go.... like the delivery guy is like sure I’m in Turkey, I’ll take any job and then you’re like ok, drive to Beijing. Not cool.
- There’s no inventory link....I realize most of the buildings are asking for 1 of the item but what if that is your last one?
- The building tasks don’t regenerate even when the timer is up. Fix this glitch
- The sudden stops like stuff found on the side of the road or broken truck use up fuel and you don’t get it back. Fix this glitch.
- You can’t help a farmer with a broken truck if you can’t see any other trucks. See above - get rid of the clouds.
- Sun points should be CUMULATIVE. You shouldn’t have to spin as soon as you reach a threshold or lose anything after that. Especially if sun tasks are things like feeding and planting. How many farmers dropped multiple nets and duck traps only to find they only needed 2 and the rest were lost until they spun first ?
I still haven’t been able to get in, so have no opinion on the Valley yet.
Our nb is having a very difficult time chatting with a new neighbor that joined today!!we would like to see if they fit in before they opt into the derby, but this has been very difficult considering we have been in maintenance over half the day!!i feel sorry for all the players who are switching neighborhoods today, trying to find out if the nb they joined is a good fit!!!!
I haven't had the courage to go to my farm and download the update yet. I've just been checking out these comments and hiding from my chickens. BUT I have to say....this was so funny I did laugh out loud... really. A perspective problem indeed. Thanks for your understatement of dry humor!! :) Poor old Hay Day updates haven't been a delight since the bees! The bees were way cool.
Underwhelmed so far. Ran out of fuel before I could deliver crates - only 2 more required. I would not have taken the task if I could have seen how far away the delivery destination was. However, I need to accumulate 100 suns before I can even spin for more fuel. I think that this is a pass from me until/unless Supercell rejig how accumulating fuel works.
Completed a quest, awarded a booster, return to farm, don't have the booster. Kind of says it all really.
sorry not for me
This is a deal breaker for me, too. There is no way to get enough fuel, fuel requirements are deceptive ( glitchy?) and accumulating suns is tetchy too. I wasted a lot of sun-accumulating activity as I didn’t realize I had to use the spin or all subsequent sun accumulation is for naught. I’ll check it out again. Some day.
Only Supercell would invest in a new layer of the game, then make it playable for a few minutes per day because fuel is so limited. Why make playing the valley such hard work?
General opinion in my hood is that this is very underwhelming in terms of significantly expanding game play!
I was just thinking about my bees today. They are something I never tire of. Best update ever. There have been a couple of other suggestions over the years that could be developed in a similar way. Silkworms (mulberry tree as a host), mushrooms (fallen log as a host), nut tree (squirrels gather and stash). All of these have been suggested repeatedly—and not just by me although I’ve always contributed to threads requesting them.
It seems to me that SC can’t have clouds AND mystery tasks AND long commutes AND extremely limited fuel. They need to pick one - NOT THE CLOUDS! - and get rid of the rest.
Further, as others have pointed out, all this work and long wait times and frustration isn’t worth any of the prizes that are within reach. Not one. And the only prize everyone wants - the certificates - are practically undoable. Even over the course of three weeks. Because if the chickens that might show up on the game board every day are snagged by other players, too bad for you and your quest to snag 50.
And if you were fast enough and lucky enough to snag said 50, God bless you if you’ve also managed to earn the hundreds of tokens required to actually buy the prize in the shop you’ve just opened with, you know, your 50 elusive chickens.
Do I sound bitter? 😏
I believe it is 50 total for the ENTIRE valley group, total of you, your neighbors, and everyone else. In 3 weeks (ish) I think it is manageable.
In terms of the Valley in general, me, along with my neighbors in the hood, really like it! If there's one thing we dislike it's the clouds, but I think the fuel is fine, honestly. I've gathered up 20+ cans today from the free spin and doing the sun tasks, which I think is a fair amount, considering the game was in maintenance for a good chunk of the day. Overall, it's a thumbs up from us!
Really? I mean it would lovely if it’s true, but how would that jibe with the different players entering each game board? Do I take my chickens with me no matter who’s on the board I end up on? Well let’s hope you’re right. That would certainly change that one thing.
And I like the Valley, generally. I just don’t like the way the Valley is to be played, mostly. On my main farm I’ve finished all my tasks today. I didn’t refill fuel to do them at all until the very last one and then only because a wrecked truck finally appeared but I had over an hour to wait for a timed refuel and I wasn’t sure someone else wouldn’t come along and fix it before I did.
Even with that success, I very much dislike the combination of the clouds etc. I was fortunate today. I won’t be every day.
One of my tasks was to go to the fish shop. I could never find it, lost in the clouds. Is there a link to a hidden map, that I’m not seeing?
If there was a link to a map, a radar screen, a compass with directions,... that would be helpful, even fun, like Orienteering. I’m not a fan of navigating in the blind.
I find the valley fustrating. Which not what I need from playing a game for fun and relaxation. Too many clouds, not enough gas and yes truck broke down and couldn’t go anywhere.
Has anyone else had their daily tasks just change today? Ive had mine change no less than 5 times in an hour. How are we supposed to get them done? I was really excited about this valley too. Especially when they said it was supposed to be stress free. About 5minutes per day is all I'm seeing this entire area offering entertainment for. No Thanks!
Also the delivery I was working on disappeared when the tasks changed randomly.
I also noticed i had some tasks that changed. I remember driving to a place asking for fish and since i didn’t have one i had to go to fishing area. When i came back it wasn’t there anymore. So i also wasted precious fuel.
Guess after this trial period, hayday will address a lot of the aforementioned issues shared by everyone.
So against my better judgment, 🙈 in a fit of what I can only call optimism,:smirk: I drove my baby farms back into the valley. It’s going just about as well as you can imagine. 🥴
My truck was on its way back from the hinterlands where I dropped out yesterday when my adventurous spirit was ruthlessly quelled by the limitations of La Valle (trust me it’s parked right on the border limits of the top of the screen). It went one stop and broke down.
I sighed deeply. I decided to use my main farm truck to help out. It’s very far away, but I’ve finished the daily tasks except for one and I had fuel plus a way to get more. I started out. It moved three spots and now it’s broken down.😆 I’m not seeing any other players on the screen. There are lots of dummy trucks but no player names come up when I tap them.
So...it’s either pay 20 diamonds each to fix the trucks or let the baby farm task expire. I’m going for expiry. There’s a silver lining: the derby is looking mighty fine right now.😄 AND I’m starting to find the travails funny. Seriously.
I'm finding it incredibly confusing, frustrating and ultimately rather boring. I will probably ignore it, at least until some of the bugs have been ironed out. Once again what could be a great feature seems to have been severely limited by making it too hard to play, this time by making fuel scarce and onerous to get, prizes costing way too many tokens, putting clouds on top of everything, and so on.
So, I eventually got in.
when it’s going well, I like it, numpty when it’s not I don’t. There needs to be more clarity AND LESS CLOUD.
ITS NOT FUN OR ‘challening’ when you can’t work out what to do OR see any of the orders/places you need to complete quests.
i only seem to have one other pkayer in my valley (not the amount promised) and I’ve caught two chickens, butbthere aren’t any others and no one else around to catch them. 50 ha ha ha ha ha.
fuel - tricky to get, seems to get syphoned off I had 20’ went to do a task, it said 3 to get there. It took the 3 but 4 minutes later I was done to 10...makes NO sense.
quest time isn’t working
buildngs saying new task in x minutes, them not appearing. Giving another time hours away.
hopefully these obvious glitches will be fixed soon as I think it has potential to be fun if it gets sorted out!,
I went back to the Valley and both trucks had been repaired by other players. Yay!
On the way down to do its tasks, my baby farm met a truck that needed repair and returned the favour. Yay!
JaydensWeinerDogs ⭐️ is right it seems. Yay! The chickens seem to be accumulated by everyone in the Valley. I had an extra chicken that I didn’t earn myself this morning.
If you only get 1 day to perform your daily tasks, then its not a relaxing side game. It takes effort to get your daily goal. I didnt get mine cause I couldnt find a fish shop. Why are the clouds there?
So far, I'm completely baffled. I took a delivery task, but there were no indication of where I was supposed to deliver it. The task expired, without me even being able to figure out what I was supposed to do with it.
Also, I'm suddenly getting tons of friend requests. Not a big deal, I'm just puzzled. I'm not advertising in the paper or helping strangers at the moment. There's no global event. I'm not filling crates or boats. So how are they finding me? Is it through the Valley somehow?
Not popular opinion but I'm having a blast figuring things out.
Have read HelpShift FAQ, play a bit, then watched Cami's explanation, play again.
Bugs and lags happened, especially late to generate orders or time flies way too fast (the contrary of nectar bush issue XD), daily quest keeps resetting (contacted Support).
Back to playing.
@Janilee: in the Valley, you can tap on other truck and send them Friend Request. Valley is populated by neighbors and random players.
I am throwing the sacred fuel on the annoying scarecrow, torching the valley, and inviting everyone to drive over in their black smoke billowing trucks for roasted chicken.
There’s a glitch with the delivery tasks. Some people don’t get the notification of where to deliver. And just a warning, the delivery window seems very short so make sure you have fuel whenever you start one. My time was 20 minutes. The briefness of the delivery window may or may not be a glitch though.
“...having a blast...” eh? I can tell. Your whole post sounds super stoked. 😄 Have fun and carry on, Meo 😁.
Haha, BostonGirl. I assure you I do have fun. Since this is a trial, my goal is to get that 3 permits in the shop. Everything else is a bonus.
Bugs and lags are expected. They don't stop me from getting permits nor exploring the new feature. Strategy will come soon once we figured out all the rules .
I'm stuck! My wallet is full (1000 tokens), can't reduce this amount by purchasing items because I only have 54 blue tokens. What do I do now? Help!!
I visited once, don’t think I’ll go back.
So let me get this straight. When the Fish Shop says “Sell me some of these” what it really means is “Give me” because I’ve sold to several different places and received no coins.
I know it’s only one carrot but still.
I agree with the underwhelm expressed here. That was the whole update?? Apart from some redrawing of the Boosters.
Over in the Ideas And Feature Requests subgroup it lists under “Ruled out for the time being” — Mini Games. Lol. Well played Supercell!
It seems like a lot of unfun fuss just to get a few expansion items or mining tools that I can get way easier from wheating.
Not going to be joining the valley next time this thing comes up.
The tight restriction on fuel and lousy prizes make the valley not fun to play. I can play 30 seconds before I’m out of fuel. Also, I just redeemed tokens for ONE bolt. Really - ONE bolt?! I get better prizes waking my pets or growing corn. Oh, and the clouds and message that I have to drive closer to see what a building might need are super annoying! How can I strategize when it is set up this way? I’m finding myself driving around in circles. So stupid.
After the update and because of it I find my self playing less and less.
Too much going on and I really dislike the made by toddlers for toddlers look of the valley.
Time to look for another game I guess since this one clearly has passed its expiration date.
Personally, I'm finding this way too complicated, I can't be bothered with it. I'll wait until there's a proper FAQ by one of the game specialists or someone.
It's just bizzare, clouds and fuel and tokens and chickens!
Blah
When other trucks are in the valley, I’m out of gas. By the time I can refuel, the valley is empty. And the screaming chicken is gone. We have 6 chickens and I have no clue how. My truck broke down and I spent diamonds to speed it up. It didn’t work. My truck was still broken, no one came to fix it and I’m put a bunch of diamonds. Fuel is ridiculous and only gets me a short distance. I’m not even sure what direction to head most of the time. There’s no way I’m going to continue to play as the fuel costs more and more suns. All of this and so far I bought one bolt. I get more just waking my pets everyday. Great concept but the execution makes it unplayable. Oh, and I hate that it wants me to do boats or derby to get fuel. I don’t like to play either and you’ve linked playing valley to more than just farming tasks or selling in valley shops.
Ok so just drove to a group task and clicked on the house where it said 2 chillis required.
The complete button was greyed out so I thought I didn’t have enough chillis. Clicked the button and it said I needed 2 apples.
so nipped to my farm to grab 2 apples and clicked the complete button where I then saw it deposit 2 chillis 2 apples and 2 bread.
now where did it tell me I needed all this stuff. Another bug. How on earth this was tested I don’t know
I hope we're still on a trial because this is completely broken.
I haven't read one post where the person knew what they were doing.
It's far too complicated and they've delivered too much too soon
I'm swearing at my phone/iPad to stay within forum rules!
Went to the valley yesterday and promptly broke down. Went to the valley today and promptly broke down. Left the valley. Just ... left it.
All I can say is that was the big update? Wow. Bunch of stuff already have and land permits are behind a goal that is basically unattainable. Plus they ruined the derby in the process.
I really tried to play the valley.
first try - spun the fuelwheel 2 times. Got some fuel and visited a few houses . All with the info that new request was aviable in 0 sec.... ran out of fuel .
second try. Spun the fuelwheel and got 8 fuel. Found a shop to visit with a task available. Ok go for it. OOOhnoo - your truck broke.....
want to repair it for 20 diamonds. Eehhh nope.
I wonder how many players that would still play the game if everything worked like that?
examples:
taking a 320 point trucktask- ohnoo my truck broke. Want to repair it for diamonds?
feeding my pets - ohnoo your chickens is sick . Want to call the vet ? Special price 54 diamonds to save/ cure a chicken....
serving my townies in town - ohnooo your trolley broke . You cant get back to your farm. Want to repair it? Only 99 diamonds...
producing items in my machines - oh no your farm has a power out.. no machines can run. You want to call the electrician to repair it?
special price 77 diamond - or you can wait 24 hours until your machines start working again....
Doesnt it sound fun?
One thing I'm finding really annoying is how it constantly spams you when you've earned a spin on the fuel wheel. Seriously, once is enough. It doesn't need to pop up continually until you go to the valley and spin the wheel.
I want to like it.
All of my buildings are regenerating tasks, they will be ready in 0 seconds or 29 minutes..... apparently in the Valley time has frozen, because it has been like this most of the last 24 hours. I can get one order done then everything goes back to "refreshing". I am a bit discouraged.
Well now I’ve broke down 4 times in under 24 hrs
Well, I've made some deliveries, even managed to catch a chicken and somehow managed to collect enough tokens to buy some much needed mallets. I fully expected the mallets to not show in my barn, but they did, so yay, a small win because I've needed one more mallet to open up a piece of land for weeks (ridiculous, but that's a whole other subject).
But overall I'm still not sure what I'm doing/what I'm supposed to be doing, where I'm going, what the overall goal is, etc. I'm apparently part of a group doing a group order, but I can't see the whole order or any info about the group. I don't think my truck has broken down yet, but then again, would I even know if it did? 20!!! diamonds to repair a truck sounds very disappointingly extortionate.
It’s not funny. No, seriously it’s not funny. Not “I spun the wheel, got 6 fuel made one stop and broke down. Game over” funny. It’s ridiculous you made me do this sort of thing three days in a row, but it’s not that sort of “not funny”.
It’s not funny in the way the rest of Hay Day is funny - the daft ducks in the salon, the sheep jumping and running at loud noises, the pigs grinning at you. The town wasn’t all that funny but the town visitors are amoozin’ if you like that sort of thing.
It’s not funny. You’ve had a sense of humour by-pass.
I always try to start positive. So my earlier posts were hopeful but now that Ive tried it a few days Im sorry to say that I am a bit disappointed in the valley. I think it needs major tweaking to work pleasantly.
-Why does my truck have to break down every day?
-Seeing other players on the map is still buggy. So far Im always alone, only saw people 1 time. I saw a hoodie with a broken truck, went to my farm to harvest some sun and get extra fuel and then when I came back I couldnt see any other players anymore. So I coudnt help them.
-The taskboard is also buggy. I come to the valley, get free fuel spin and look at tasks. I use my fuel to work on the tasks, go to my farm for extra sun, come back and then there are different tasks. With only 13 hours let for them to do. I dont think that is supposed to happen.
-Clouds are blocking buildings. If you need specific buildings for your daily task, you have to drive around and hope they pop up. With fuel being so hard to find, its not something Id enjoy.
-How much is in my barn when I sell something for tokens?
-Why is every building close by not available? If someone else was there before you, you get unusable buildings. You have to wait and even when it says there will be a new task in 0 sec it wont show up. I think thats a bug too.
-How is this a relaxing side game if there are daily tasks? That means if you want finish a daily task, its a big investment.
-Instructions on how we work together in the valley is a bit unclear for me. I read all the in game info, but what is a community task and what is individual? Its not totally clear for me.
They valley looks like it could be really fun, but its not if the fuel is so hard to get, if therefor tasks are harder to do, if you break down all the time, if you cant see where you have to go.
Waiting for the next BIG update:)
No serious now, better have smaller more interesting updates from now on:cool:
This whole Valley update is too much hyped by Superell team.
I find the valley a big disappointment. My first reaction was "wow!" when I saw you can buy expansion scrolls with the new money. However, later I noticed that buying is only allowed after collecting 50 chickens.... Didn't see ONE chicken the last two days. In a miraculous way "others" collected 4 of them (still 46 to go!).
Again disappointment: collected chickens have an expiration set of a couple of days ...
Also, buildings keep saying "generating new request (0 seconds...)", never knew that zero seconds could take so long.
Finally: how do you complete a delivery request??? Picked up some boxes but where do I need to deliver them???
While driving through the valley I am behaving like a chicken without a head, collect me if you can find me :saywhat:
Very confusing.
So my truck is finally done being broke and now I need to wait another 24 min for the mill to which I was headed to have a task again. Grrr.
So I drive on. Need a bit more red tokens to buy something, I see a building close by that is perfect. It needs fish which I know I dont have so I quickly go catch a fish and BAM no task available anymore. What is this weird stuff. its very very very frustrating.
I like it but i hope earning fuel gets easier..
Ugh, I go back to the valley, now the fish task is miraculously available again. Also the mill one that needed another 20 min is somehow back. This is buggy!!!!
So I want to drive to a new building, it says it cant cause my truck needs fixing. BUT MY TRUCK AINT BROKEN! It looks fine.
This makes me sad.
A new torment emerged: the DD is being overrun by - eggs! And they are here to stay if the "feed farm animals for suns" doesn"t change.
Meanwhile pets are walking the streets with torches and pitchforks!
If you look around the valley there should be an icon hovering over one of the buildings. It looks like a stack of crates. And it bounces.
That is, if it’s not buggy. I was able to deliver said crates yesterday morning. But when I picked up a delivery in the afternoon I scanned the entire valley and couldn’t find the delivery icon.
For my big box reward, I got 2 vouchers. Go to my booster storage — NO NEW BOOSTERS!!
I will add that I was at 5/3 boosters stored is morning, and am still at 5/3 now AFTER earning the biggest box in the Valley.
*Boosters earned in the Valley should be able to exceed the storage limit for boosters.
I also had had my daily quests change on me 9 1/2 hours before they were supposed to, destroying my strategy and wasting a lot of gas. I had completed 3/4 tasks, now I need to do 4 again.
And in on my way to do the first new task: truck broke down.
That’s it for this beta tester — I’m buying my reward marker stakes, shovel and pickaxe (hope they show up in the barn) and I’m done.
I have no interest in this update I found it very disappointing and felt it was way overhyped.
I stopped playing some time ago and went back to Hay Day expecting to have some fun with the valley. Fuel would be ok if the amount of suns did not raise every time you spin the wheel and if the daily goal was not linked to derby tasks.
After some bad experiences with the zero seconds to generate a new task, I managed to complete the daily tasks. I got two chests: one with three purple vouchers (I already had around 100) and a boat booster I can't find anywhere.
Plus, the prizes are dumb and the only prize worth it is 50 chickens away.
In my last mission, my truck broke and I am still waiting for it to be repaired.
Disappointing. Closed Hay Day and maybe will not open it again.
Underwhelming, disappointing. Don’t enjoy it, won’t bother with it now. Plenty other activities to get on with, so, sorry, this one wasn’t a winner for me.
Also if it's not buggy, there should be a row of smaller, brown dots leading you to the delivery spot. Sometimes I've had it, sometimes not.Quote:

Arrgh, just found screaming chicken in the clouds, get half way there.and truck breaks down! Clouds have cleared by chicken so can now see how far away I am and how much fuel is needed....12.....I have 4!!! Oh well no rush on the mechanic then.
I gave it a try, spent lots of diamonds to earn gas. In the end, the prizes were not worth the time, effort, or diamonds. This reminds me of the people on the hill. Tried them once and then never again. I have been playing for 3+ years, I am level 132, so I have some time invested in the game.
It sounds like the programmers spent alot of time and effort on this. I wish they had spent it on new machines instead. My suggestion is read the suggestions in this forum and implement them, don't go of in a new direction and waste time and resources.
I will keep playing the derbies and ignore the valley.
I keep trying to like it. The chickens are a collection from all farmers in the valley if they are in your neighborhood or not so 50 by as many trucks as I see makes sense. The fuel is hard, time consuming becomes harder I needed 900 sun points for more fuel. Too many things expected I took a delivery but needed 900 points to spin the wheel again, while I was away getting fuel the clouds lost where I was to deliver later I got the message it expired. Getting a point for every 10 farm animals or ever 3 cows fed is boring. Hopefully the storms will blow out of the valley and the oil embargo will be over soon - it’s sun chips all those clouds make solar ineffective.
I think it's got a lot of potential. I'm pretty burnt out on derby, so I'm truly excited to have another way to play the game. It's fun driving around and filling requests. I haven't really interacted with my other visitors in the Valley yet but that could turn out to be fun.
A bit buggy and perhaps needing some tweaks. A few items for consideration:
- If only 2 members of a 'hood are in the Valley, their trucks should not both break down at once.
- If your neighbor is trying to help you, perhaps it shouldn't cost them so much fuel. Keep in mind that the top spin yields only 9 fuel. A recent attempt to help a neighbor cost 4 fuel -- nearly half!
- Consider a shorter time to recovery. It's punishing when you FINALLY get fuel to complete a quest, then your truck breaks down and the timer resets.
- Some stops in the Valley say that they are generating new requests in 0 seconds, but nothing updates.
- Sometimes hoodies cannot see other trucks in the Valley.
- Consider adjusting the ratios that allow more spins. I might be in disagreement with other users, but it seems to take a long time to get fuel, and no time at all (2 moves at best) to run out. I get halfway to finishing a quest, then I'm out of fuel. By the time I get more fuel, the tasks have reset.
- Before I fill a Valley request, I'd like to know how many of that item I have in stock.
I agree with others about the clouds. There's no need to obscure the map. It's enough effort just to get around. And when I clear an area and the clouds return, it's very frustrating. Also, LOL at 50 chickens. That will happen at the same time I save up enough land permits.
Still, overall, it's a nifty new addition and I'm excited to see how it works out.
