In the new trader cycle, there was only one BoH available. Before the [long] weekend [in Finland], CoC wanted to be nice and add some more BoH by replacing other books in the cycle. They forgot to change the price tag however.
This will be fixed, after that long weekend, because it requires a maintenance break.

BoH has to instantly finish at max an upgrade timer of 7 days and no resources as such involved...
Other Books however, have to instantly finish a timer of 14 days at max with no resource benfits as well in this case too...
So both having the same price is not justified...
Unless we get an official statement whether the changes were accidental or intentional and the reasons behind that

Yes, there are currently two prices in the game for the BoH, the original one costs still 500 gems and an unknown number of replaced books costs either 500 if the price was changed or 925 if the price remained unchanged.Quote:

If I understand this correctly the trader cycle was adjusted with the last maintenance break. If an account had a different price book in the trader at the time of the change (during maintenance) the BOH took on the price of that other book. If no book was in that spot during the change the price was not impacted and when the BOH was next offered.
So some accounts are stuck at 925 gems for the book while others have the correct 500. The next maintenance will set the price back to 500 for everyone.
Does that sum it up? I want to be able to explain it to my clan.

It’s not something that is different for different accounts. Every account can currently get the 500 gem book offer and the 925 gem book offer. Which one they see on a particular day just depends on where exactly the account is in the cycle. Not every account is on the same day of the cycle.Quote:

I noticed on previous posts that it’s a glitch that’s going to be fixed. I downloaded the update on the App Store an hour ago so I know I have the latest version of the game. Is this actually the new price or a glitch like some are saying?

I've noticed that in my maxed account, king and queen 60+ and GW30+ the BOH is 925.
On the others the BOH is 500.
So I suppose it depends on the level of you actual heroes...

It's a glitch. SC tried to switch some other books to books of heroes, but forgot to change the price. Some BoH may still be 500. Will be fixed sometime in the future.Quote:

The maintenance break on Thursday (after the optional update) fixed a problem where hero books were made too rare in the trader cycle. To fix that, they replaced other books in the cycle, but accidentally left the price at 925 gems on those books. Sorry that is something Kat doesn’t know and cannot do. I have no say with what support will and won’t do, I can’t go sit in their seat and make promises like that. There is however a player report in this thread somewhere who said they got the 425 gems back after buying it and messaging support about it. I haven’t seen it actually happening myself so I can’t give a definite answer whether they will or won’t.Quote:

Furthermore with any maintenance there’s a lot more work involved then just the 20 or 30 (or something) minutes the game is unavailable. From identifying an issue, reproducing it, finding a fix, testing it and monitoring it there’s lot of work that goes into a maintenance before and after.
So leave the tinfoil hat in the coat room at the door, it really serves no purpose and adds nothing here. Even though I do understand that you don’t like how they handled it then just say that and leave it at that.
PS, for what it’s worth, I too have the 925 book in my shop offer currently. I too am out of luck here.
Thanks Kay for all your patience and explanation in this thread. 20 new hero levels and a non-sensical BoH trader price would’ve been a real kick in the builder huts. Anxiously awaiting the next maintenance.
Not many and I wouldn't suggest anyone do it. I'm just saying those who are seeing the higher price aren't losing out on anything. Their hero book offer didn't just suddenly go up. Instead, they got a hero book offer they normally wouldn't get at all. It would have been a different book if not for the change. Their 500 gem hero book is still in the trader cycle just like before. Hopefully, by the time the new one comes around again the bug is fixed.Quote:

Maybe "force" was a wrong term. What I'm saying is, if you offer anything at a set price, no reductions or discounts, people either buy it for that price or not.
Several people on this thread have indicated that the BOH for 500 gems is the ONLY THING they buy. So, let's assume they don't spend any other gems on anything else. Am I still wrong with my previous statement? Or am I just one of many that think the same about the outrageous prices SC puts on items in the daily trader?
