What do you mean “the update had no change in the trader shop” ?

This update added a research potion ya know. And that research potion had to be worked into a new trader cycle so there was EVERY reason to touch that codebase in the update. And if you touch something and since these are humans at work accidents can happen.
Now with changing the trader cycle an oversight caused the BoH to be too rare for even SC’s liking.
Which they then identified
Which they then tried to fix
Which then caused a little mistake of a number input which was left unchanged but should’ve been changed somewhere.

and here we are.

Geez, even with these mistakes I have way more faith in SC as software developers right now with no reason to touch that codebase :facepalm:

Let him know the 500 gem BoH that he used to always buy is still on the trader cycle and still coming to him just like always AND there are now additional BoH on the trader cycle for more gems that he can purchase or not AND in the future even those extra added BoH are going to be 500 gems. He should be pretty happy. I know I am.

So much gold in this thread. Is reading comprehension no longer a requirement in Public Schools?

If you are truly a software developer, i would question your skills and abilities to read specs. Becuase you havent managed to comprehend the issue. The trader cycle is a table. Probably 6 columns. Item 1 id, item 1 cost, item 2 id, item 2 cost, item 3 id, item 3 cost. They changed the cycle to include new items. Something got scrambled and hero books were dropped. Someone trying to make a quick fix updated item Id 3 but forgot to change item id 3 cost. It happens. I was updating a table in a system I support and accidentally dropped two digits in the middle of some field id's. Took me forever to fix.

I would also add that as an experienced software developer, I bristle when someone unfamiliar with my codebase tells me something is "easy to fix". This occasionally comes from business people, other developers usually have more sense than that.

Speaking as a former project manager, when someone needs to make an update in multiple places and doesn't do it, I tend to get annoyed. A little thoroughness never hurt anybody but I swear it is unteachable to some people. Measure twice and cut once does not seem to be the modus operandi of most folks.

Oh no doubt. I've also had very good people make a mistake when I said I need this in 5 minutes, I know we usually put it into test first, it's no big. And got egg on my face when it was my fault, not the dev. I won't say devs never make mistakes, but the ones I work with are pretty risk adverse. They are human though.

Seriously COC.... fix the bug... it makes no sense to have the Hero Book cost over 500 gems. It’s the only reason I save my gems. If it was an intentional change, then it was a lame change that is discouraging. A real shame...
