The suggestion that this has ANYTHING to do with the gold pass is nonsense ... it's a glitch, someone replaced books but didn't replace the price tag, that's all .... 'upper hand'? Please elaborate....

Maybe "force" was a wrong term. What I'm saying is, if you offer anything at a set price, no reductions or discounts, people either buy it for that price or not.

Several people on this thread have indicated that the BOH for 500 gems is the ONLY THING they buy. So, let's assume they don't spend any other gems on anything else. Am I still wrong with my previous statement? Or am I just one of many that think the same about the outrageous prices SC puts on items in the daily trader?

These “several people in this thread” did you base that just on assumption of the length of the thread or did you actually bother to read a good portion of it ?

I wont deny that several people commented they buy the BoH regularly but how on earth didn’t you manage to miss ALL the messages that explained the overpriced BoH ?
PS quite a few people buy the training potion as well for 25 gems.

And we volunteer our time to help out on the forums.
So in that sense there’s no employer employee or something along those lines relationships.

We have basically daily contact with SC and their community managers and alike and we are indeed under NDA. That means when SC is ready to share the news with us we are privy to stuff like update info and sneak peek schedule in advance or sometimes other confidential information.

We help the CMs and are extra eyes and ears around the forums. As such we pass on many things like what players are happy and unhappy about, good suggestions or ideas, things which are problematic for players etc etc. we sometimes make suggestions about changes in an update which isn’t released just yet and sometimes those suggestions are implemented on the spot.
Anyways, since we have lines of communications I tried asking SC the Thursday evening about this thread and issue. Luckily someone was still online and caught it and was able to answer these questions for me because it would’ve been a long weekend around the forums otherwise.

Did you read the thread so you can see SC actually is trying to ADD another 500 gem book of heroes? The one that was offered to you is one that would not have even been a book of heroes before the change and in the future it will be 500. The one on trader cycle that was always 500 is still on the cycle and coming your way too.

The books and other items are generally good values if you were inclined to purchase gems for the same purpose. If you were not inclined to buy gems, then they seem pretty expensive. Imo, lower town halls should never buy any of the items other than perhaps the training potions. For example, it is far cheaper for me to gem my king to completion on my th8 than to buy a book. On my 12, the book is cheaper. By a good bit. Both are more expensive than just doing it the old fashioned way. Purchase prices are reasonable, mostly, compared to straight gemming. What value a player puts on a particular item is up to them. As far as my most hated items ( power and hero potions), they should be far more expensive. But that's my personal bee in my bonnet and not necessarily rational.

Funny how theres such a defence for SC, especially for those who don't "work" for SC.

This obviously upset quite a few people, as there is this thread. But you'd rather defend SC and talk about it being perfectly priced, rather then agreeing with the mass of people saying that it's over priced.

If this was a glitch, a bug, a mistake on the part of SC, why only give the discount to those who write in? Why not give the discount to all that purchased the BOH for 925. Clearly a cash grab in my opinion. Spend your gems on a "bug" but spend real money to get those gems back

Also, to those who have the attitude, the "moderators", relax a bit and listen to the people. Telling us we're wrong doesn't make everything right. If the rules were reversed, you'd have an issue with being told "it's a great price" when clearly it is not

I know you are replying to two people here, so I'm not sure which is directed at me.

It appeared to me you hadn't read the thread since your post was all about SC increasing prices when SC did NOT increase the price of the BoH. That is what you seem to be missing from this or at least what it looked like based on your thread.

I think the BoH at 500 gems is priced well. I purchased it often. The bugged price of 925 is too high. I would never purchase it for that. I'm glad, however, that SC is adding another 500 gem BoH to the trader cycle.

Some of the people "upset" are people who think their 500 gem BoH was changed to 925. I did at first too, until I learned what actually happened. Once I learned my 500 gem BoH is still on my trader cycle and still coming to me, I was no longer disappointed that the temporarily bugged one came to me. If not for the attempted change, that would've been some other book I wasn't going to purchase anyway.

Ah. You went with the tinfoil hat brigade. This is a holiday long weekend in Finland. As in they are closed and have been since end of business Thursday. Imo, if the price had been 25 gems for boh, they wouldn't have logged in on a holiday to fix it. Or even free. Have a few books. For the people who happened to be at that point in the cycle. Feel free to read my previous post about the prices. Or not. As you wish.

Sounds like you are the one who needs to relax. Your comment about SC "forcing" people to buy items is reflective of that.

Most people in the thread simply haven't read that it's a bug. Really, there isn't that much to discuss about the change in BoH price.

Kat already said why he/she cannot help with potentially giving people their gems back. It was also brought up there might be a delay because of holidays in Finland. If this is your definition of "cash grab" you need to seriously reevaluate your perception of the world. It's not like in game it claims the price is 500 and it actually charges you 925.

Kat has listened to the people. And it's clear many of them haven't listened to Kat. Your post has some odd "customer is always right" entitlement when it's clear many people just didn't bother reading the SC responses to the problem.
