If your opponent has 1M Gold, the amount of available Gold is:
TH 5 - 100k
TH 6 - 162k
TH 7 - 160k
TH 8 - 140k
TH 9 - 120k
TH 10 - 100k

If you have 1M Gold, the amount of available Gold that can be raided by your opponent is:
TH 5 - 160k
TH 6 - 160k
TH 7 - 160k
TH 8 - 144k
TH 9 - 80k
TH 10 - 40k

Edit: oh, and btw, I am a th7 player, tomorrow my th upgrade to lvl 8 will be finished. Nearly maxed out my base, except Hog to lvl 2 and my BK.

i have them exposed because i have no need for gold at all just dark elixir it is just a waist of space. if i do get gold it is while im online and i use it on my walls very quickly i don't need to store large quantities :p

well right now on my 2nd account, i have almost maxed out TH7. I have almost all of my walls upgraded to level 7, (or dark purple crystal wall whatever), infact half of them are. and i have my defenses maxed out. except for one air defense that I am getting gold for at this very moment. and i also need to max out my teslas, which will take a couple weeks, because it costs 1.25 mil, then 1.5 mil gold just for level 2 and then level 3. and they take sooooo long haha. I have one already to level 2, so maybe a week or two before thats done. And for troops, I have maxed out everything (doing ballooons to level 4 right now, ending tmrw) except for DE troops, minions and hog riders. I will probably just buy a couple packs of gems and then upgrade and finish those. AND then theres the BARBKING. so I will also gem him up, to level 5. that is when everything will be maxed out!

A lot of experts reccomend not necessarily maxing ur th until 6. Then you should as defense begins to be important here.

Great choice. Make sure you fill up your storages too. LOL

I turned TH9 a couple of days ago and I went through hell after that initial update which dried out the entire loot system.

I managed to farm 5m+ gold per day after things got better and I was finding occasional 1m+ resources raids.

On good days, with the barrack boost, I was farming like 1m+ gold per boost (45 minutes) and farmed insane amount of resources to max all my walls to skulls and had left overs and blew it all on useless decorations.

Long story short, TH7 to TH8 is safe to upgrade, get your level 5 troops and start farming just as you were TH7.

TH9 and TH10 is a different story but below is okay. Level 5 archers are sexy so I sort of skipped to TH8 half way into TH7 long ago. I had no troubles at all.
