I went on holidays for 2 months and just came back a couple weeks ago. Before I left planks>bolts>tapes. Now that I am back I have seen a few posts asking for 1.5 planks and 2 tapes for 1 bolt. Now it could be that those posts were out of the order greedy guys but I had never seen that before. My question is has the value of barn items changed and if so what is the current tradable ratio on average.
Stay away from those trading threads! People who want to trade at different from 1:1 are just trying to rip you off. The real ratio of these items across the whole game is equal (therefore their intrinsic value is equal), but the ratio of these items is unbalanced for each individual player. My strong suggestion is to set up a relationship with 1 or 2 other people via personal message whose imbalance pattern is different from yours, and trade with them whenever you find yourself with excess of something. You will both upgrade faster as a result.

I would agree completely with powder monkey - I have a couple of friends who have excess of the things I don't seem to get so we are barn/silo buddies. Works well.Quote:

If im trading with friends and neighbours that I have had for a while, I will trade everything including bolts and planks on a 1:1 basis. Or less. Depends what each of us is desperate for.Quote:

In my opinion it all depends on your needs and own stock.
I've traded 10 bolts for 4 planks.................just because I had plenty of bolts at that time, no room in my barn and really needed the planks.
On the other hand I've traded 2 bolts for 4 planks.
Normally they're 1:1 but it's all up to yourself.
4 weeks ago I couldn't find a single bolt or screw..............now I've got plenty of those but I can't find anywhere tape or nails.
I guess that's the programmers way of making it "fun" for us.
They have an evil sense of humour - I've been searching all morning without success for that last, elusive screw and my barn was screaming at me, so I gave in and spent 8 diamonds for that last bloody screw, so what happens next? The Wheel arrives and what did I win? A screw! Then I tap on the toolbox. It opens to reveal ... a screw. Then I harvest my field and what up flies - you guessed it; a screw. Three screws in the space of one minute when I'd spent hours harvesting, opening toolboxes and hunting through the DD and come up empty! Now I just need 16 bolts to upgrade the barn ...Quote:

The supply vs demand of bolts on the trading thread is ridiculous. I managed to get 2 bolts yesterday when someone threw them into our trade of 2 planks/tapes for 2 nails, but they are very few and far between.
