I was curious as to what errands you usually send tom on. I like getting shovels.
anything my boat needs, my friends boats need, or any other person that need help with boat needs.
Besides that I tend to send tom for the items I have a low stock on (and wich are not easy to find in dd). Also some jewelry and tools (depending on my needs).
examples are: feta salad, seafood salad, seafood pizza, lobster soup, jelly beans, choclate bars, all kind of jams, sushi, potatoe from grill, cheesecakes, diamond rings etc.
Sometimes between boats, I send Tom for products that take a long time to produce, like candy and jam. I also send him for axes and saws.
Shovels and items that take ages like jam. I send him for jewellery as I get lots of jewellery truck orders and get lots of gold vouchers from them.
I used to send him out for whatever my boat needed that takes the longest to make but I started hiring him less & stockpiling all of stuff so when I do hire him, I send him out for jewelry, jams, & shovels. I stockpile that stuff until I run out then hire him again to go get more & so on.
I wish we could send Tom for screws and duct tape ;)
So far I have had him fetch shovels and diamond rings for me. I never thought about jam. I might get some of that too next time.

I get Tom whenever I need shovels. After I have enough shovels, I fill in with chocolate bars and diamond rings. I don't have Tom very often, maybe 2-3 times/month. Sounds like other people do so much more often. Do higher level players keep Tom all the time?
I send him for things made of fish or feta.. I can never keep up with demand...also to top up my jam and candy stocks as these take forever to make
I sent him for jam. All kinds. He brought me over 70 in the 24 hours I hired him. Good value for the 15 diamonds, I thought. Still waiting for the right moment to hire him again. No point in doing so while there's not enough room in the barn to accomodate the stuff he brings. :D
