All hog with a couple wizards or archers. Attack TH 9s and under. Automatic 1 star. Don't forget heal spells! Btw wrong sub forum.
De army. Mean you want to gain de? Or to use only de troops?
I like a simple giant farming army.
Barracks are as follows:
Barracks 1: 5 giants, rest archers
Barracks 2: 5 giants, rest goblins
Barracks 3: 5 giants, rest barbs/some archers if you like
Barracks 4: 5 wbs, wizards or assorted ground troops.
Dark Barracks: 5-10 minions each.
This usually ends up with 15 giants, 5 wbs, and around 40 of each ground troop.
Training time is around 25 minutes.
For a giant healer which I also like:
Barracks 1: 6 giants, rest archers
Barracks 2: 6 giants, rest goblins
Barracks 3: 6 giants, 5 wbs, rest barbarians
Barracks 4: 2 healers, not many other troops needed but fill with barbs just in case.
Dark Barracks: 5-10 minions each.
This usually ends up with 18 giants, 5 wbs, 2 healers, and about 30 of each ground troop.
Training time is around 30 minutes.

I'm a th8, I use 9 drags, 20 archers, 3 lightning and the bk, takes 90mins
I search for TH8s with at least one ad upgrading, lightning one of two remaining ads away and over power the last one with the drags, the archers and bk are for clearing exterior buildings for the dragons. its's usually good for 200/200k+ and 1k de :)
The drags are my log off army, I bam the rest of the time
24 balloons, 50 minions, 2 heal, 1 rage, 1 lightning.
Farm at high crystal or masters.
I was really into DE farming a few months ago and my army was based on
16 giants
2 healers
16 bombers
16 wizzards
Rest in archers to pick off outter buildings prior to releasing the masses.
Also, rage sleeps are a "must" when hunting for DE as most if not all DE storage a are centered in the town with all defenses protecting it. Make sure to try and lure out the CC trrops if possible prior to releasing all troops or you could use your apponents CC trrops to your advantage. Meaning, CC trrops are usually centered in ones town along with De storage. So release all trrops on a side of the town where it looks to be the fastest way to make it to the center. Once your troops reach the outer wall, realese all troops at once with rage spells leading your troops to center and they will focus on CC troops being released for CC.
Maybe this sounds confusing ? Or maybe I'm not explaining this right. But gather what ever info you can from this and good luck hunting !.
Oh, for DE farming, concentrate on cup range around 1900 to 2100. This is where the most DE is that I have found in the past.

It was a while back so not sure, sorry.
When farming for DE, one needs strong troops to penetrate walls and defenses.
Bases with high DE count are usually bases with extremely strong defense building and walls.
I would stay clear of using and DE troops as this is counterintuitive.
The more you raid with troops listed above, the more comfortable and strategic you will be. Hence more success you will have at your goal.

If you do plan on bringing along healers, make sure to bring at least 3 because almost every base has those seeking air mines. IMO, no point in bring along healers. Might as well just take 1 heal spell and replace the healers with wizzies or something.
Oh and loons and minis are probably the best army for DE hunting.
I use barch and lightning at town hall 8. I get the full drills, and lightning the storages.
