Made a mistake, big mistake - help?

Do you think Supercell will assist me in this matter?

I was 2200.00 away from having enough to get the ice cream maker and I accidentally used diamonds OMG - yes. I instantly panicked and thought I am screwed. I lost what appears to be 400 + and all my money. I guess the message said something like would you like to use diamonds to cover the amount you are missing etc? I am not sure. I was in a rush and stupidly assumed it was just a message saying - you do not have enough cash etc...... Big mistake. I lost half my diamonds in one mistake.

Will supercell fix this or am I screwed here? I know it was my mistake so I am guessing I am just screwed. I have told myself I will just uninstall and let the rest go to waste. I do not think I will get over this. I am so upset I assumed something and made a big mistake while doing so.... I guess I needed to ask just to ask. I supposed I might get some flack over this but I am okay with that.

Pretty sickened. In a sense it is good though, or at least I am spinning it that way. I will quit the game if this cannot be rectified so in a sense I will save money in the long run. I had already spend nearly 80 real cash this month in gems and saw myself getting out of control with this so I might save money (lol)... I have to look at it that way I am so crushed and feel so stupid......... Flame on (if you wish)

I'm so sorry for you Tgan, can't imagine what it must feel like to lose such a high amount of diamonds and cash! Buuut, and I don't remember who it was, someone posted in this past week about contacting the crew about his/her accidentally spent diamonds and got them refunded! So I'd say you should at least give it a try and email the crew! I wish you good luck and all the best!

Thank you for the reply. I did send in an in game help request. I really hope they can help. I know I goofed but I feel terrible. I cannot lose that amount and keep playing, it would bug me to death so all I can do is wait for now. Bad time to do this also, with the holidays upon us. I accidently used over 50 diamonds filling up a boat order. I never realised until a day or so later that I was 50 diamonds missing I hunted everything for extra boxes opened and just couldn't see where I had spent them. So I contacted sc and reported it and they replied with in 48 hrs the time date and how I had spent them. And then refunded them ( they didn't have to) but it was most appreciated.

Sounds good. I hope they do the same. I realize they do not have too, so I can only hope. Still so annoyed at myself.. I have not touched the ice cream maker -- I hope to hear from them before Christmas but I do not expect it, all good.

If you have sent an email to the report an issue link in the forums setting explaining what has happened and telling them you'd spent real money on those diamonds, I'm sure they will be understanding. As MsLie said, I received my diamonds back when I accidentally tapped on a new apple tree while trying to scroll away, and your case is much more tragic. I hope you recover from this shock and keep playing. You've come so far and it would be sad to abandon your farm and animals now.

I finally heard from them yesterday and I was not given back my 506 diamonds. I did not think I would, since it was my mistake. A simple mistake yes, but a painful one - lesson learned. I am unsure if I will continue with the game since this mistake has completely messed up my system and playing style but I do know I will never pay again so at least that will make the hubby happy. Believe me it was getting out of hand quick..

They (SC) did compensate me 100 diamonds and while I am grateful for that, it is just not the same.....

Hi Tgan. I'm pleased SC at least returned 100 diamonds to you; that's better than a slap in the face with a wet fish, as my dear, old mum used to say. I think most of us have learnt the hard way not to play too fast, or when you are nodding off over your farm. Please don't give up on us. Take a day or two, gain some perspective, then start cranking out and selling ice cream. It sells well and you will soon have your bank back in the black. Keep checking those toolboxes for the 5 diamond boxes and fishing with lures for those diamond bearing fish, mining and completing achievements, that will keep the diamonds flowing without the need to buy the. Without the diamond confirmation button being rolled out to everyone instead of just the select few, buying diamonds is just too risky unless you have a specific purpose for them and use them immediately for that purpose. Chin up, Chook! Your farm needs you!

Tgan, I'm glad you got some of the diamonds back. I understand how horrible it feels. I have accidentally used diamonds to speed things up sometimes and it makes me be a lot more careful about clicking. I wish there was a confirm button before being able to spend diamonds!

Well, I didn't know you could ask for a sort of refund when you spend diamonds by mistake. I wish I had known this before.
I Made the same mistake some months ago.
Well I was so unhappy, but I didn't give up. So Tgan, don't stop playing only for this! Use your creme machine, forget the past. It happened, it was bad, but you can recover the amount.

Aye thanks for the replies folks. It is doubtful I will quit, I love the game - matter of fact I will not quit playing, just buying.. I am already in the process of re-tooling (if you will) my play style without purchasing diamonds. It was not easy but I am happy with the outcome. I am thrilled to save the cash and stop my addiction of buying diamonds hahah. Sad, no?

In terms of accidental purchases or speedups I estimate I have lost about 200. One was on a snow globe for 50 and several times for accidental speed ups. This loss of 500 however was a complete error on my part so I knew they would not budge, no worries.... All is well and in the end I can bank some cash for a rainy day - win win

The system and game is designed to play on emotions to get people to spend a lot of real money that they would never do if they were to just purchase a game up front. It seems like all games are going the route of the in-app purchase to squeeze more money out of people which is kind of sad. Also it makes it worst in HayDay with how easy it is to accidently spend $15 to $20 of real money. I guess that is how they make over $2.4 million a day. Sorry they only gave you $2 worth of diamonds back.

the same here, I probably lost around 50 hard earned diamonds from speeding up trees unintentionally. Couldn't play it for a day each time but soon got back into it and finding diamonds in boxes and the mines helped.

Let us not forget that SC is a business with employees that need to be paid a salary. They are, essentially, in the entertainment business, and keep us very entertained for long periods of time. Compare spending $20 on diamonds with spending $50 plus on a night at the movies for two. Which gives greater value? A night at the movies, or endless hours of fun and community engagement on HD?

$2.4 million a day?!? Wow! I accidentally spend diamonds all the time and have complained to SC twice about it only receiving a generic response. I understand they must deal with a crazy amount of emails but I really wish they would add a confirmation button. I told myself I wouldn't spend any real money on diamonds after I wasn't refunded my accidentally spent ones but I have slipped and bought a few here and there. I try to keep it to a minimum as they go so easy but I won't buy any significant amounts until they add a confirmation button.

Exactly. It's all a marketing ploy. And it's also why they probably won't add a confirm button. Maybe they will soon, though, if they actually care about their customers.

Tgan, keep playing but just don't buy any diamonds, not until they can sort out a confirmation button. I lost a lot of diamonds, but at most at one time was 30 I believe(probably closer to 100 in total in my 53 levels), that was horrible enough. I'm rather surprised they didn't refund you your 500+ because that's surely a huge mistake, and you were a big paying customer. I have paid for diamonds several times in the past but refuse to again until a confirmation button is added. I have never tried to get them refunded because, well ... I don't have very good luck with that sort of thing so I never bothered.

So sorry for your loss, but if you enjoy the game, keep playing! :)

Well said, GladeMaid. It doesn't bother me in the LEAST to spend a few bucks on diamonds from time to time, though it's been weeks since I last did as I've learned to a) wait until I find enough free diamonds to hire Tom, and b) SLOW DOWN my playing so I don't accidentally swipe the speedup buttons. However, I did lose 5 diamonds the other night with what I call "sleepy thumb syndrome" when I fattened a single pig as I was dozing off, thumb headed to parts unknown on the game. And I panicked when I couldn't find my wishing well a few minutes later because sure enough, a sleepy thumb had moved it behind the bakery. (I panicked because I thought I might have accidentally trashed it.)

For the price of a cup of designer coffee, a player can have enough diamonds to last for a long time. So which is worth more - a few minutes of questionably tasty coffee, or hours and hours of fun? Seems like easy math to me. And frankly, I don't much care if they add a confirmation button or not. Slowing down when I swipe over my screen has all but solved the problem of lost diamonds.

Yes you are right that they are in the entertainment business with employees that need to be paid. More power to them if they can bring in 2mil+ a day and make a fortune.

I was responding to the OP when they said that they have spent over $80 in real cash and in their words "saw myself getting out of control" and even said that never buying diamonds again "will make the hubby happy".

What I am talking about is not only related to HayDay and Supercell but many of the games and apps that people play. I was just making an observation that most apps are going the way of in-app purchases which is designed to play on the emotions and get them caught up in the heat of the moment. This is not bad or good. It is what it is but I have seen many people regret how much money they pumped into a game. This is their choice. What many people find frustrating is accidentally clicking on something and spending $20 worth of diamonds which caused a lot of stress to the OP.

My point is that it is way to easy to blow $20 accidently that does not bring endless hours of fun but stresses people out like it did to the OP.

Agreed. Of course they need to make money as a business, and it's fine to offer the option for people to spend some real cash on it if they want, but refusing to refund accidental spend is unfair. It's good that tgan has been refunded some of the diamonds, but surely with large losses they could just reverse the transaction? Ie remove the machine, and replace the diamonds and coins. You don't walk into a shop and accidentally buy a pair of shoes you didn't want, that you're then stuck with. It's unethical.
