B&E event created a shortage of eggs, bacon, and B&E.
Pumpkin pie event created a shortage of pumpkins and pumpkin pies.
This new event is creating shortages of hats, scarves, shirts, and to a lesser extent...wool and indigo.
It messes up the entire newspaper, which in turn, screws up the boat and truck orders which require these items. Yea, I can make these items, but what good is the newspaper when it's completely useless?
Still think these global events are lame. Can't wait for it to be over.
Is anything on HayDay worth doing if you remove the reward? I guess that's up to the individual.
I don't need more money, and I'm at a level now where more XP won't unlock any new items or machines for me. So one of the few things that does motivate me is an exclusive decoration.
It's interesting how different players perceive these temporary changes to the game as either positive or negative. You say it "messes up" the paper, but I like that the game is different for a week or so at a time. Keeping everything the same makes it stale and uninteresting to me.
I'm trying to find a silver lining in this but shopping in the DD is primarily the reason why I enjoy HD. If that facet of the game is altered, which it has by these global events, it makes it less enjoyable to play for me. Ur right, it makes things interesting but leave the paper alone is all I'm saying. It's gonna be a long week.
As you say the fact it stirs it up is what makes it up is what makes it interesting. I suspect the criticism of these events may come from lower level players as it probably does cause them more woe. But, believe me, when you get to the higher levels any additional challenges make things interesting. I personally love then and they renew my interest in the game.
Lots of people were moaning about how expensive the decs were so should be loving the chance to get some without spending diamonds.
One strange thing I have found is that I have managed to get LOADS of building stuff from the DD since it started.
I really like the event and hopefully will try and complete all the goals because I want the christmas decorations that we can get for completing each goal, I spent diamonds buying a christmas tree but there are other decorations that I would like to get but just don't have the diamonds to buy them.
Conjunctural changes in the DD are fun. All of a sudden I see a lot of sugar products, and no more wool (here comes the cogitation if I should get that third sheep pen I had always thought I'd never need)
What really amuses me is that there are smart people advertising sheep feed in the DD now. Makes me realize I have no sense for business opportunities.
The thing about the global events are: 1. If you get the first prize and don't do any more and you still get the diamonds.
2. You make the materials for the global event and sell them full price in the rrs you make lots of money.
I hardly ever use the rss unless I do something stupid like use all my crops without planting extra. So it really doesn't effect the way I play.
I've gotten the first two, and I've enjoyed getting the presents and the pole, but from now on I'll probably focus on producing wool items for others to buy. I'd rather have the money.
You can participate AND make money at the same time. Sell extra sheep feed. It's going like hot cakes.
If you are producing hats (which everyone should be doing, by the way), then running both feed mills full time will give you a lot of extra Sheep feed. Sell the sheep feed and the extra wool you cannot turn into hats directly.
