Why we should thank bad loot after updates!

I remember a time when reading all of the titles in the General section made me excited about the game. If I was new to CoC and visited the forums for the first time (and after reading all the complaints) I would've probably created a "rage quit" base as well...


After reading complaint after complaint about the loot after a new update or a maintenance break plus all the criticism on the new loot system I came to a conclusion ...


I am a level 86 town hall 8 and I currently have 77 skull walls (yes there are still people who max their bases ). I love loot and even though all my troops (except valkyries) and spells are maxed I have never gone on a decent trophy push. My highest trophy count is a mere 2003 trophies


The people in my previous clan liked talking about and planning a big trophy rush and I often heard them say that you need to stock up on resources before rushing. People who trophy rush don't really attack bases with resources when they run the risk of losing heard earned trophies, right?


Most clans have montly compulsory trophy rushes and the average time between updates isn't very far from a month, right?


So why are people complaining when Supercell is actually giving them the perfect chance to do trophy rushes? Why don't we farm hard for about 25 days while upgrading defenses, stock up on dark elixir and rush when each new update comes out?


Supercell clearly tells us that the loot is bad for couple of days after each update? Rush for about a week and when you drop back down to your farming level the loot is almost as good as the way you left it


Please note that this thread is mostly for people who are farmers at heart, but enjoy a decent rush quite often!

What about those that want to farm all the time.

You have thought it through, sir

That monthly push pace becomes a problem for higher th levels. Upgrades cost enormous sums and take 10,12 even 14 days. So you either have a trophy run with half of your defences out upgrading and make yourself bait up there or you always time it just so that all defences are working for a week every month but then you have sleeping builders.

But out as you know, as a farmer one thing you absolutely cannot stand is SLEEPING BUILDERS!

Therein lies the dilemma. :(

Because we can put down this game
And get on with our real life(I need more of this lol)

Wondering alot, about that SC ignore us so much, they did not reply to any questions at all for over a week. Unfortunately it seems to be one of those updates, they are too proud of, instead of realizing that there is a problem. Better to ignore it. It's just one more reason to feel that SC is untrusted.

Some people just don't take the time to sit down and have some patience to give the update time to set it, they just make quick complaints without knowing whats actually going on. The loot is fine for me, and I'm a TH8 as well.

What action do you think needs to be taken? Just curious.

We carefully consider and weigh every possible option when making changes, and are never reactive. It may come off as aloof or not responsive, but player feedback is extremely important to us and is a major part of every decision we make as a team.

You pretty much ansvered your own question..

To do a serious trophy push, you will be burning a lot of resourses, much more than you can make during the push because army, search etc. will cost you a lot.

So you stock up, filling those storages before you start, so you got some fat to burn during the push.. But you can't do it on the saved up loot alone, but really need a combination of the saved up loot + the loot you get during the push.

When you go into a push with full storages, it also has the downside that when loosing your denffences you allso loose a lot of resourses because your storagedås are full (so max loot lost every time from storages).

This meaning, that if you can normaly do a week of trophy push with full storages + the loot you get during the push.. Then in a push right after update with bad loot, you will maybe only be able to do 4-5 days before your rss runs dry.



Haven't done a trophy push under the new loot system yet, but since our max loot from storages are now even higher, the saved up loot will definetly disapere faster.. So unless the loot we will now get from attacks is also increased, this will greatly shorten the trophy push time before running out.. Meaning that now more than ever, a push right after update/maintenance when there is bad loot, would properly be a bad idea :-/

Imo. That pretty much will make trophy pushing at all a bad idea.. Unless you want to push when the good loot os there and save your farming for when the bad loot is there.. Doesn't sound like a good idea eigther, right ? :-/

Flags are tough to add because of the impact they have on memory/performance. When we do add flags it's based on DAU by country as well as feedback.

You may think that player feedback is extremely important (and i can only agrea with you there).. But there do seem to be a terrible lack of responce from you guys to just that unfortunatly..

And i know it sucks when every other post is a complaint, but that is actually the most importent time to show your comitment and be vissible as a company rep... Not by going into a pissing contest with the complainers that are just venting their anger, i get that you don't reply on those, but by at least adressing the relevant complaints and questions made about the update.

If you want player feedback, and it really matters, then show that it does.. Go into constructive dialogue with the players about it, picking those that actually may have a point in their complaints or vallid questions..

The way you do it now, with no replies, gives me.. at best.. the impression that you really dont care a bit about feedback.. or at worst.. That you go into hiding because you can't back up your mistake.. None of them really good options imo. :-/

Then you have to get through it, COC life isn't easy

Also OP, nice little tip, didn't think of it, I usually plan my pushes around boost times, like spell factory boost for one gem., it's after an update AND you have a nice boost to help you

my mind is starting to change a bit... loots been a tiny bit better than b4 the update, but other than its pretty much the same.

Not solved at all. There are several problems with your idea being that you assume that:

1. retaining your loot while cup pushing will be easy
2. searching and army build/spell costs are negligible and
3. that you can recoup your loot on your way up.


My clan is currently pushing and as a middle TH9 in master 2 my base gets smashed every time I log off. If you have lots of loot you will lose more with the current update.

Searching for the right base is painful starting at master 3. If you think nexting to find gold is painful it is worst when cup pushing. Additionally, in order to farm you will need high level troops and all spells which will also drain your resources pretty quickly.

Some bases have lots of resources but the chance of getting them is low with so many multi inferno towers and max defences. Additionally you will also need to think how you will recoup the cups that you will lose and how long it will take to get them back.
