Just out of curiosity has anyone bought the pirate flag or the mighty statue? I just don't see the point to spending 500 gems on them, what do they exactly do?

Well, they used to be achievements... That's all gone now.
so they serve no purpose now.

the make your troops always attack the right targets and always aim for the TH or loot depending on which you are thinking about at the time.
I'm not sure, I never finished all them.
The only achievements I did back then was but like 4 of the burning torches or some stupid thing...
Seriously, don't waste your gems.
It means you have nothing better to spend your gems on
