Even tho tornado trap received a nerf in the last update and it shows that it should last less time in it's stats it still traps the troops for 10 seconds at max level. Dunno about rest of the levels but atleast the max level one is bugged

It's a known issue. It'll fixed in the next patch we release.
Just a quick update. Patching the Tornado Trap bug would invalidate all of the replays due to the functionality change. So we're going to patch the Tornado Trap once the Clan War League season is over.
I'm not sure I understand the context of your question.
Replays are not recorded videos. They are a record of what was tapped on the screen in the form of code. When you watch a replay, it literally recreates the entire match based on those inputs. It's not an actual recording, but a "simulation" of how the game works within the engine based on your inputs.
So changing the duration of the Tornado Trap spell has an effect on how the simulation (replay) would've resulted. Because the old functionality and the new one don't match up, the replay can't be reproduced. Thus why replays are wiped after we make functionality changes to the game.
We use the replays to help validate our Clan War League leaderboards, to review for cheating etc. Wiping the replays after this War League season has started could potentially remove essential evidence we'd need to affect the leaderboard and qualifier.
Your last paragraph is the answer. The question was from a players perspective, why would one war (at the most) of replays be worth waiting to fix the tornado trap.
i am surprised that you can’t run replays against different game builds/versions. But if you can’t, then the answer makes more sense now.
Thanks for the quick updates Darian. Can someone confirm whether this affects all levels of the tornado trap or just max?
it not a software bug. the entire tornado change is just not in the build, looks like this piece of code was just left behind.
i am one of those who checks the forums several times per day to see when update is expected to be released but with the number of issues found i would really prefer to wait a day or 2 more and get more polished product
Storing information about the older version while running the current version isn't a technical challenge, but it's one that doesn't really merit much priority since the situations it would come up are very limited.
However, we did do some technical advancements with regards to the Hero AI. We implemented a "kill switch" in the AI so when we make changes, if we find that it's not performing optimally (like the recent change was shown to behave), we can revert parts of it. The reason I mention this is that the replays will still conform to the older AI version for purposes of replays only while still running the updated one.
In other words, even when we revert the current AI, it won't affect replays.
The only reason missing replay in classic wars is for a second hit on the base.
With one hit per base in CWL, an erased replay is not as critical in an ongoing war.
This was very insightful, thanks Darian :)
Do you guys do any kind of testing before releasing update? This bug with the many others including witch overpowered and broken in lower TH, not to mention the previous bat spells
