Loot Getting You Down? Try This
There are currently two opposing opinions right now regarding the loot system, and regardless of whether or not the new loot system needs improvement, I think you can all agree that being able to farm as much loot as possible is the goal (not including trophy hunters of course). If the loot isn't working as intended, I'm sure SC will make the necessary changes - but that will take some time. So how can you continue to farm efficiently until then? Well, read on and perhaps this would be worth a try.
Currently People are saying:
1) "I can't farm!It takes too long to find loot and as soon as I defend, I lose it all!"
2) The loot is incredible! I've gotten 10 billion gold in the past 45 minutes!"
To those of you who fall into the first category, wouldn't you rather be part of the second category? Well, maybe you can figure out how.
The best strategy for farming right now is to know where the loot is, and how people are getting it so you can do the same. Knowledge is power, so for a little while, instead of looking for loot, look for knowledge. Here is what I mean:
1) Look up the names of a few top farming clans. There are countless amazing farming clans, several of which have a strong forum presence (and to any of the farming clans that are on these forums please feel free to offer your assistance here if you'd like to). The guys and gals in these clans eat, drink, and breathe farming, no matter how bad the economy gets they are always raking in those resources.
2) Request to join one of the clans or contact them online. In your request, put a message along the lines of "I would really appreciate some tips to help me farm." This will especially help increase your chances of getting accepted if you don't meet their usual requirements. Don't be offended if they reject you, just move on to the next clan on your list.
2) Ask them as many questions as you can. What trophy range do they farm at? What army do they use? Can they share some replays? What do they look for in a base when picking a raid? What trophy level would they recommend for your current TH level? What TH level should you be primarily looking to raid? What spells do they use / how frequently / what are the spells used for? What is the least amount of loot they look for in a raid? How do they minimize resource losses on defense? - Those are just some examples of questions off the of my head.
3) Share your own Replay / Strategy and ask them to point out what needs improvement. You may be in the wrong trophy range, you may need to redesign your defense, you may be using an army that isn't ideal, etc. Sometimes it's easy to overlook your own mistakes that are clear as day to someone else.
4) Thank them and gracefully bow out. If they would like you to stay, great! But chances are, they need that spot on the roster for current members. Don't make them regret letting you in, when it's time for you to go, do it with grace and they will respect you and be more likely to help you in the future for it. If you have more questions, ask if any of them are willing to share their GC or Kik or have an account on the forums for you to contact them with.
5) Do what they do! Adjust your farming to fit as closely to the advice and strategies that they shared with you as possible. If they can do it so can you. And if they told you a few things to do differently, it could be the key to getting the better loot per hour that you have been missing.
--------------------
While it is important to express if the game is giving you problems, that won't change the current state of things. If there are people out there who are getting incredible loot regularly, then find them, pick their brains, and learn from them. None of us know it all, the best players are the best because they are constantly seeking information from other players in order to learn how to tweak their own playing.
I see so many people asking what trophy range others are farming at, what army, etc, but those questions often remain unanswered due to getting lost in the sea of arguments that has been taking place.
Instead of getting frustrated, seek out the best, learn from them, and prosper.
Note: This is NOT a thread about whether or not the loot system is working. PLEASE do not post about whether you think the loot system is working or not in this thread - there are numerous other threads for that. This thread's purpose is to offer a different approach to hopefully alleviate some frustration from those who are having trouble farming. No loot-related opinions here, please! Thank you.
