Retiring the farm.

Since oct. 14 2012, the day i downloaded this game i have been farming. I never paid much attention to trophies (cups). So now i want to get up to master and am looking for tips on how to get my cups up, can anyone help? On a side note, I still have an xmas tree from last year and am really hoping that I will get another one this year but rumors are floating around that if you have a tree from last year you won't be able to get this years version until i cut down the one i have. Is this true? I have no intention of cutting it down, its an easy way for me to prove (in global chat) that I'm no noob to this game. Thx for the help. P.S. tho I do realize that needing tips on cup farming makes me look very much like a noob,lol.

There are better cup hunters out there but here's some general guidelines, learn a few strategies that fits your current trophie range. Don't waste your resources on expensive ones if you don't need to, you can use BAM pretty high. Balloon/minions, hogs, gowipe, barch (for 50%) are some common ones. Witches and gowiwi if you got your spending pants on, the cheaper ones should get you to masters though.
Snipe THs if you find any.
Make sure to do more then one attack Before logging off, keep getting a + even if your defence lose.
Don't look at the loot if you aren't broke, a high resource Count might cost you alot of trophies if the base is to hard.
Skip until you find a base you're comfortable to win over, a attack loss is like a 3 star defence loss.
Try to have as many spells, CC troops and heroes ready Before attacking, a missing spell can be costly.

I'm sure I missed alot of tips but I'm sure you'll get more. The rumor that's floating around is fake, you can still get a new one. If you want proof just check out Daddys base in Golden sky, he got both.

Yeah there have been a few times a single shock spell turned a loss into a win i generally keep two shock and two jump spells handy when farming i love the guys that put all their res in the middle, I just jump in a few giants and about 20-30 gobs. But I tried the barb method and am not having much luck i do keep a few witches handy just in case but try not to use em if i can. Didnt realize minions were a good method and i need to up my hogs first, those are still lvl one as i never gave them a chance. Archers don't seem to work as well as they did back at th7. I'd love to find a Combe of troops that would let me attack twice before I train again is that a possibility?

I meant balloons and minions, put in 16-32 balloons depending on tactic followed by minions, it's easy to learn. You can of course use all minions to pick off 50% like with Archers with the advantage of beeing air troops, but there's better ways to get 50% in my oppinion.
It's hard to give advice when I don't know your Trophy level or troop upgrades but I would say that it's impossible to get that star with only half your army unless it's a Th snipe or a really low lvld TH while beeing at a desent Trophy range.

Not true bout the xmas trees , plenty of players have both,my old clan leader has 3 form last year 2 this year an seen others with more on raids, good luck on push

Things I recommend for Troph pushing.

Decide on a goal for the push. Crystal 1, Masters 3-1, Champs..Note the higher you get the longer it will take once you get closer. plan your sessions accordingly. also be prepared to ride a shield out too. you want a net gain at the end of the day.

Turn off the Farmer mentality, now the strategy is to win.you only need enough resource to make spells and field an army. If you get loot along with winning, fine, but win is the new objective. This also means you need a strong trophy-style base layout too. the farmers may take your loots but will offer cups in return..remember resources are 2nd on the list, cups are first priority now.

Key one.
Lure the AQ/BK and CC, to assist the attack plan. (carry a Thor or, some extra troops for this) lure to a corner and take them out.

TH is optimal target, 50% being 2^nd option. Hopefully you get a combination of these on most bases.
Pick off any THs that are exposed or behind 1 layer of walls or poorly protected. minimal troops lost can keep raiding more often. (After the TH is down, you can try for 50% aswell and get the resources AFTER you have secured a win. Learned this from the Crystal folks when Farmed out my TH hoping for a 1star loss with minimal loot loss.. don’t always work tho)

Aim for premie bases initially or lower TH in your range.. I have crushed many a TH6-7 offering me a 30 cup three star…

I like Giants and Hogs (B’loons if I have time) as theyTARGET defenses..So, I carry those in my trophy build. (Minions and Archers are necessary for ME too.)

If the TH is buried deep and heavily guarded (Gold and up usually) then develop a plan to take 50% a base..

BAM/BARCH etc..good for quick build and easy 50% mosttimes..beware of splash towers if you BAM/Barch.. if you BAM/BARCH then carry Thor(lighting) you can take out a key Mortar with a a couple max Thors

Spells, Rage and Heal are your friend.. once you have breached the core, heal and rage will more than likely get you that win..


These tips will help get you going. Post more after you pleatau, there will be adjustments needed to push past Cry 1, IME.. (I did a push to when the spell factory boost was on, made it to 2270 or so. But ran out of time on my schedule.)

Good luck on the cup hunt. My clan is doing one at the moment, and I hit Master's with 24 balloons / 50 minions as a TH 9 no problem. i am quickly approaching my max cup count as I am now having a much harder time finding bases I am confident in getting 50%.

The above advice is spot on. Look for a long time if needed to find that magic base you can get a good shot on 2-starring.

If you are having trouble, search up things about your TH level on youtube. I prefer Daddy or Flammy/Flammy5

This is what I'm working with, I really do appreciate all the advice and I will most certainly post more as I go. Any further advice would still be great. I'm fairly suprised I have gotten the support I have already this coupled with the advice from my clan will most certainly put me on the right track!

Woah! I have a suprisingly hard time hitting crystal! Can you please tell me what level your minions and balloons are?

In doing well right now with 20 lvl4 balloons and all the rest lvl3 minions, I'll prolly adjust more balloons as the forts get harder.
