Trophy Pushers: TH9 in Master league and beyond.

How difficult are people finding to trophy push as TH9 now after the Update!

Trophy pushing as TH9 in Master League is really tough now, you can make it to Crystal League I fairly easily with normal troops (Giants/Wizards/WB/Barch/Minnions/Balloons) if you have the time to search for good base but beyond that you will need Hogs to progress. Normal troops is not practical (I know TH7 made it to Champion, I don't know how he did it but he definitely spent days searching for easy bases and he did it before this update) if you don't have the time (Whole Day of searching) and resources to commit.

Right now I have hit a brick wall, I won't be able to reach Champion league with no matter how much help I get from 1 gem barrack boost or spell boost. The new update made it impossible for me to reach champion league. Before the update I was doing fine, I reached Champion league with extreme difficulty. But now I hit a point where I lose everytime I get attacked. I won once (Attack from TH10 - Golem and Witches) with the traps I placed strategically that managed to take out the witches, you can imagine I was extremely pleased.

Throughout Master league, I have been hogging and getting hogged, and I can say that anyone can 2-3 star a th9 base, even with the best Hog base. (I'm using the popular anti-hog base design that most TH9ers uses, the design can be found in Tactic, Strategies and Questions section of the forum.) I'm not asking or complaining about the hogs, they deserve to get used. I'm just saying that this update has saved TH10. Champion league is now a TH10 battleground and now I am seriously contemplating whether to upgrade to TH10 or not.

I have seen quite a lot of premature TH10 (Not to premature) in Master league, they are lower level than me and all of their defenses are one level lower. The difference is they have two disco Inferno Tower and one extra X-Bow. These bases are really tempting to attack as they are premature with low level walls, but when they have 2 disco Inferno Tower, there is no way you could win with Hogs.

I use balloonion and that too fails horribly against discos. But It's all about finding the right base to attack and avoid discos. Large bases with centered infernos are easier to 50% if you just avoid the core.

20 more troops (mostly the same level) and another spell doesn't make that much of a difference really, they are useful but they aren't going to suddenly transform your attacks.

As always it is down to picking on setups that you like and that are suited to your troops.

Don't really agree with the disco inferno hysteria, they take plenty of time to actually finish off a balloon. You can clear out a core with two disco inferno's under rage.

They do make the margin of error smaller though, and they absolutely destroy swarms of minions.

I've been at 2800 trophies with my TH9, kicking some arses.

And I also hit the same wall that you did. And also got the same question: is it time to be a th10?
Thinking about that, I hava the conclusion that with th10 IN ATTACK I will have wizard lvl6, dragon lvl4 ... and maybe nothing more to improve my attack.
Sure, I will have an extra xbow, 2 infernos, sounds very nice in defense ... But I won attacks against th10 with all those toys, being a th9.

So, I ended up thinking: I will max my defenses in th9, do some walls lvl9 and THEN, I will go for th10, no matter what.

I will be pushing for champion with my clan and I am a TH9 with maxed troops, Also you have to remember TH10 gives you 20 extra troops as well and that will help. Dan from Dark sky was just in champion and he is TH9, he used balloonion If you check out daddys previous video.

I reached 3433 as Townhall 9 using Balloonions. With the inferno update you just need to change from going for 2 star to going for a 1 star. Defenses also got easier becuase much less people uses hogs in champion's league. You can actually get away being 1 or 2 starred now by GoWiWi.

I took my mini back to master league two days ago hitting nothing but exposed town hall. Mostly archers and barb raids. I think it took about three days from crystal lll.

I know that if I had the gems, I could have made champion pretty easy I think.i was easily 1 starring at master 1, with maybe up to 30 minions left, but the cups gained per hour was only maybe 10
