Incredible, ex Dark Looterz new tribe gaming fail at second step.....
Itzu just failed on a donut base :saywhat:
I have recently failed an attack on a TH11 as a fully maxed TH 12. Everyone's allowed to have a bad day from time to time :)
I have long held that donut bases should be banned.
In a best of the best competition like this I would expect anyone to be able to come away with the win. Once we have the results from the behind the scenes war we'll have more information. This day isn't about winning wars, it's about gaining stars. So while they didn't win, and they only have 2 3-star attacks so far, there's still a very good possibility that they'll be moving on to Sunday.
Ah, you're talking about my onestartarget bases, if there would be a place for earning money with my best onestar attacks, I think I could get rich.
I never like to see someone failing because I know about that damn feeling!
That’s definitely not just you!
I run somewhat of a donut base. Recently in a CW against a Champ 1 league CWL clan and my base was attacked 6 times (for reference I’m like number 12 or so on the map). A few defense wins and they never got more then a 1 star.
A war fight after I was one of the first to be 3 starred.
Hit and miss that base but I still like it and have had it a long time XD
Itzu in the 3rd war missed 3 star just by 2 sec. 99% 2star, half health mortar left. Tribe Gaming is doing good, won 2 out of 3 wars. Why do I feel like you were just waiting for them to lose to make this thread?
C'mon guys, sure anyone can have a bad attack but we're talking about supposedly 'the best clan in the world!'. The first and only pro clashers, a clan so good SuperCell bent their own rules and let them change their clan name. They way this clan was built up, I was expecting nothing less than a dominating 15 stars. These guys looked normal.
While I'm here, what's up with your cameras SuperCell? I live in a major North American city, have the best internet connection my top of the line service provider provides, have a 10.5" iPad Pro, and the video was so blurry it was hard to see what was happening most of the time. Even on my 55" 4K tv it was blurry as heck.
I get the $5 season pass hasn't come out yet so SuperCell must be almost broke, after all we know they have to pay all their update testers (lol), but its not like they haven't made billions over the past almost 7 years. You'd think that since these world championships are such a big deal, they'd invest in a couple 4K cameras or even some second hand 1080p cameras.
My favorite attacker from tribe gaming is iTzu
Donut Bases op.
Don't worry ....they will find a way to make the pro's win. :smirk:
I’d really want to have a donut now, it goes very well with some coffee
The blurry screen cleared up within a few seconds for me. I think it’s youtube issue and not SC...
Eric just pulled off a nice 3 star with bats at the end..
Umm, not yet.
That is what the ESL world championships is supposed to find out.
First, yes. "Only" well so far, but then there hasn't exactly been much time for more.Quote:

1. I doubt it was Supercell's cameras, it would have been ESL's.Quote:

2. It wasn't blurry for me, though I didn't watch live, only on playback.

May have been a glitch in your area. I watched the live stream on my iPad and had no issues.
this is not the first time itzu failed...if you look back a few years to then the cwl were hosted by super cell, in Helsinki, and listen to galadon as a moderator, with chef Pat, talking about the skill of players in their attacks, just as itsu was starting his attack and the attack then mid game the attack went bust...galadon stated it is all skill of a player until the troops are down, then it's all about the ai of the game..and replay after replay showed the ai of the game clearly screwed itzu attack that day...in short.. a players skill has little to do if the game ai, or meta of the game does not react with the base and troops and hero start doing unpredictable behavior, in short version...the base design confused the meta..troops attacking walls next to defense,.. troops ignoring spells jump, or rage.. troops by passing defense to attack non defense structures...youtube is overflowing with these kinds of ai behaviors...
The green-eyed monster is strong in this thread - it's really an ugly thing to see.

1. C'mon Ajax, dont play innocent. Everyone and their grandma who plays clash knows that the clan formerly known as the dark looters are suposed to be thee. best. war. clan. in. the. game. Period.
2. I meant 'only' in the context that I'm talking about today. Tomorrow, who knows?
3. Since us mere mortals cant change our clan names, I'm assuming theres a rule somewhere saying that we're not allowed to. Dark looters changed their name, so it looks like SuperCell bent their 'no clan name change' rule for them.
4. I'm fully aware how hard it is to 3 star a well designed anti 3 star th12. I myself am a 60/60/30 250 walls done max th12, Leader of a 649 win fair play war clan with 2829 hard earned warstars...but I'm not talking about us mere mortals, I'm talking about the Pros, the Gods, the chosen few who are now paid to play clash. They looked extremely human today.
5. Regardless of who's cameras they actually were, you'd think SuperCell could arange that their first, and arguably most important ESL, be broadcast in 4k. It is 2019 after all.
6. I'm happy for you Ajax. Hopefully tomorrow it goes better (for me, lol). If it is a problem on my side though, I'm a big enough man to be able to admit when I'm wrong. I did actually switch over to a few 4k youtube videos to make sure it wasnt a connection problem and they were crystal clear as usual.
Hi..
Elon musk wants to sponsor my clan..
But he said..our clan name must be changed first to SpaceX Owns You
Can it be done Supercell..
It is a special & unique occasion..
Well I don't. And I'm not "playing innocent". I genuinely do not believe we can ever really know who is the very best. Even this tournament, while it will allow the winners to claim they are, is hard to say it really proves it, when it is only 5v5. But it is the closest we are likely to get.
There is no doubt that they are among the best, but that is all we can say.
And I acknowledged that, yes it is valid so far. But rather silky to say "only" about something so new.Quote:
2. I meant 'only' in the context that I'm talking about today. Tomorrow, who knows?
Don't accuse people of breaking {or bending} rules based on an assumption of what those rules may be. It isn't exactly hard to find out what they actually are. The ToS are linked from in game, and also from every page on these forums.Quote:

There are no hidden rules, those are all there are.
And given that SC support have always changed clan names that have been reported and that they deem inaporopriate, it is hard to see how you could even assume it if you couldn't be bothered reading those.
Of course they are human. Way better than most of us - I doubt many of us here would have got 3 triples in 15 attacks against those bases (with no scout atracks}, but still very much human.Quote:

As others have said, this just looks like you have a touch of the green eyed minster. Not a good look.
I can't honestly say I think 4K is needed, but you said nothing about that previously, you just said it was too blurry to see what was going on. If you find 1080, or even 720 to be that blurry, then I think a visit to the opticians may be in order. Most if us don't even play the game on 4K devices. My ohine is, but not my tablet.Quote:

I never watch anything streaming in more than 720p because my connection won't cope with it, and in fact with twitch, it struggles even then, so I dropped to 480 for most of it, and while not ideal, it was still possible to see what was going on.
Well it looked plenty sharp enough at 720p, just with far too much buffering for me. I've found before that twitch seems to need higher bandwidth than Youtube for the same resolution.Quote:

Man, its tough to converse with a Moderator. Its as if your opinion carrries so much more weight than mine because of those 2 orange words under your name. Its like you have authority over me, which I'm aware you do. So, here goes...
1. I'm not talking about who actually is the best war clan out there, of course we'll never know. On any given day, any clan can beat any clan. I'm talking about who is perceived to be the best war clan out there, and without a shadow of a doubt, its Tribe Gaming. This has been cemented even further since they are (as of today), Clash of Clans only pro clan.
2. How is it silky to say only? What does that even mean? Are you saying that I'm lying and they are in fact not the only sponsored clan out there? I'd imagine in a small-ish community such as the ESL, word travels pretty fast, and when word got out that the first pro Clash of Clans Clan had been sponsored, other clans might of been sponsored by other sponsors the same day...but they weren't. So, the first and (for the moment) only pro Clash of Clans clan is Tribe gaming.
3. So the name Dark Looters was deemed offensive and that's why it was changed? That's obviously not the case. It just seems like there's special rules for special folks. All I know is that I can't change my clan name so there must be some rule against it somewhere.
4. You're completely missing the point Ajax, almost like you're doing it on purpose. Of course they are human. Do you really think I think they're 3 headed space aliens from Jupiter? C'mon man. The point is they're pros now, professional Clash of Clans players. Someone, somewhere deemed them good enough that they will now pay the clan formerly known as Dark Looters to play Clash of Clans, and all I'm saying is that yesterday they they looked absolutely average. Thats it. I was just expecting more from professional Clash of Clans players in their pro debut.
5. It's funny how when you express a little bit of criticism, certain people assume is jealousy. I love my work. I actually build things that contribute to society and make a pretty good living doing it thank you very much. Am I allowed to say I wasn't impressed by Clash of Clans first professional clan yesterday without people jumping to the conclusion that I, or anyone else who expresses criticism is jealous?
I hope so.
6. You really don't think in 2019, in SuperCells first and arguably most important foray into ESL gaming, that it shouldn't be broadcast in the highest quality possible? Alright, I don't know what to say to that...but cool. My vision is 20/20. In my early 40's I'm the only one in my immediate family who dosent wear glasses. My vision is fine.
When you say 'most people don't play on 4K devices' I could do what usually happens here on the forums when someone makes a broad statement like that, such as 'most people don't enjoy the builder base' or 'most th12's are eagerly awaiting th13', and ask you for numbers to support that. A poll, a study, statistics, something to support your claim....but I won't, I think that's dumb. You're probably right anyway. I never say you couldn't see what was happening though, I just said it was blurry.
Is SC paying them to play Coc? If they are really average and not worthy, it will be a bad investment for Tribe Gaming. But time will tell if they are worthy or not.
DL got 3 triples, plus some time fails. Also you are ignoring the fact that, they are also against the best base designs, so comparing the situation to average clans is not a proper comparison.
Nonsense. I can't rewind replays in CoC - I don't see any rule against that.
There's LOTS of things you can't do in the game; that just means SC haven't provided the code to do it. Having a rule against it would be meaningless because it's not even possible.
SC staff can change clan names for various reasons, and have done so for years. Right now in Reddit v Forums we're in a clan called "Team Forums". It wasn't called that last week. Usually they change names because they are offensive and that's what their main interest is; but they can change other names.
Average? They got 20% 3* rate with, as I recall, 2 or 3 others desperately close. The average at Champ 1 was 7.2% last season. The average war score was under 30 (in 15v). If you look through the full results I posted for last season very, very few clans got 20% triple rate. Clans that got even slightly above 20%... AFAIK they're either in Poland, couldn't go to Poland, or got banned for cheating. And DL maintained that rate yesterday under studio lights and with cameras in their faces. Average? Really?Quote:

But the fact remains it was OK for everyone else. You can keep telling us your equipment and eyesight are all perfect... but no-one else had any trouble with the stream that I've seen.Quote:

Something that I have not seen mentioned is that the main goal in Day 1 and Day 2 is to advance. That was accomplished by amassing stars not wins. Perhaps in Sunday’s conclusion where winning actually matters we will see more risky attacks that pay off in a higher 3 star rate.
I liked the stream for the base designs alone.
Rtk's bases were great for the cwl format, i might copy some before next week ;)
The only authority I have is about enforcing the rules and trying to keep the forums a reasonable place. In this sort if discussion, I have no authority over you, and am discussing it just as another player.
I'm not totally convinced, even of that, though it is a much stringer point.Quote:

No, I'm not suggesting you are lying, and they certainly are currently the only.Quote:

I'm just saying ut is rather pointless adding "and only" when it is so recent that the first is bound to still be the only.
Obviously, and I never suggested that might be the case.Quote:
3. So the name Dark Looters was deemed offensive and that's why it was changed? That's obviously not the case.
Incidentally, further to that, there have been cases where clans have had forced name changes, then been allowed by support to later change it to something more to their liking.
On this one, I am speaking with the authority of a moderator. They have not bent any rules. The fact you can't change your clan name is because they haven't yet implemented a method in game for that to be possible, not because it is against some hidden rule.Quote:
It just seems like there's special rules for special folks. All I know is that I can't change my clan name so there must be some rule against it somewhere.
This is where the green eyed monster is shining through. Unless of course, you are in one of those seriously elite clans who should be competing in ghese championships.Quote:

What they showed was not remotely "average". Very few players can consistently get 70%+ 2 stars from completely maxed TH12s
It isn't about criticising them, it is about the way you (and others in this thread) express the criticism.Quote:

You are of course allowed to say you weren't impressed. You are allowed to say everything you did, but are liable to be criticised for it, given the manner in which you chose.
I don't think it is necessary, but will admit to being slightly surprised they didn't.Quote:

I suggested that based on the fact that the last time I looked, most tablets didn't support 4K. Surprisingly, more phones do. Tablets always seem to lag behind phones in technology, but I think it likely more people play on tablets than on phones.Quote:

anyone else feels like InTheLight dont belong to this tournament ? how did they even manage to get there?
Im really sad this is the kind of clans that compete.. spam electro.. 1 star attackers .. I dont claim to be the best player in the world but seriously they are really bad players
Same here, as I am very critical with the game at the moment, I tried to have a look and was very surprised of,, in the light,, .
Sorry, but that's not the thing someones like to see - speaking about C1 clans always skill is a part of it, but this does'nt - sorry.
Maybe they were nervous, had a bad day, I don't know them.
(In fact, because I'm personally not able to execute my planned attacks and some other reasons, I maybe retire from game).
Well I have to stand here with day one. That looters thing is the most unproffetional I have ever seen and I can't believe Supercell as a 2billion_dollar_company let that happened.
#UNBELIEVEBAL
And BTW. I would never have started clash if it would show me what I missed because I did not pay EVERY TIME I START THE APP (in Form of a gold or silver icon)... Thanx for that and tell me what fortnite is for a default-skin..
No point you're right.. I just would not have started This game if it where like it become now
And by this I mean clash of clans
No Point right. All I said is that I would never have started clash if it where so...
No, an aera died
Well I actually struggeling in throwing that 5bugs in.. giving 14bugs a day for nicotin addiction.. But it simply is not right
And I would not have started This game under current conditions.
But the game is where it has become now for you and an era died, you still have the choice to play or not to play.
It's up to you so good luck.
Since you have a nicotine addiction, I'd like to suggest that your health is a paramount issue so you must focus your time and energies to overcome an expensive and unhealthy addiction. Good luck on extending your life span.
Clash of Clans may or may not be an ephemeral phenomenon in gaming history, but your life is not ephemeral as long as you take care of yourself, IMO.

If someone begs to much...
Egad. The horror. You can pay for stuffs that speed your progress and are cosmetic only. At the end of the day, you end up with the same maxed 12 base. Same as it has always been. If you spend, you get there quicker. Spare me the end of the age of innocence stuff.
After see replay of streaming of today i se....only e-drag and few bope...horrible use e-drag just for the easy 2 star
Before judging maybe people should have all the facts before spouting off. You don’t make it to the event in Poland if you are horrible. Success in high level clan war league consists really of 3 things, 1) great base defense, 2) 10-12 solid 2 star players and 3) a few guys who can consistenly triple. A couple triples each war combined with great defense and solid 2 stars can win in Champs 1.
ITL only had one base tripled in 15 raids so they had very good anti 3 bases. If you hadn’t noticed the clan was older than most which meant its members are adults with jobs and kids. There was a 24 hour period of time to decide if you can travel to Poland within 2 weeks. For the ESL clans and some of the high profile clans most planned ahead and knew to take time off. For some other clans, thats not the case. Did it ever occur to you that maybe the top 3 star players werent able to make it for ITL. Also, no one cares how entertaining the raids are to the audience. You raid how you are most comfortable. If your team role is trying safe two stars thats what you do. There are a lot of fancy raid combos done at the event that were fun to watch but didnt get any higher % than a boring edragon raid. Also, the clans in the Poland event had some of the toughest bases built by the best attackers and builders in the game. Against a great base desgin there is a small margin for error and one misplaced troop or spell can ruin a raid and you can easily have an off war.
Most here have no concept of what goes on behind the scenes to make an event like this work and the environment in which you raid. Its way different then sititng at home raiding on your couch. ITL made it to Poland by only giving up 1 triple in 105 raids and having 0 one star raids and many triples during their league. People can talk all they what about what they could do or who they can beat or who stinks at raiding, but the bottom line is, ITL at full strength is gonna beat 99% of the clans out there. At the end of the day, ITL earned a once in a lifetime experience no one can ever take away and one very few will ever experience themselves. Win or lose they conducted themselves with class and had fun, which is what a game is supposed to really be about.
the bigger issue for the game is not some short tournament going on in Poland, it’s that those triple rates are so low that th12 has become a meaningless bore. I mean, if the elite of the elite get those triple rates, what’s the average player going to get? Our feeder clan wars are far more interesting than the two star borefest that goes on in our main clan. Off topic I suppose, so ignore me but imho those triple rates take out a lot of the interest in the game.
I think ITL conducted themselves with class and they definitely deserved to be there. However, my complaint with ITL was that they did not even try for triples. Spam eddies on the side closest to the TH, some of those attacks looked like something I would do. If you watch closely, they also missed freeze and rages that caused 1 stars. When some of them finally used qw PEKKA bowlers they were much closer to triples and were much more fun to watch. It would make sense if that was their b lineup. My problem was not that they did not get triples, it was that they did not even try for them.
Everyone is allowed a mistake from time to time. Think about how bad one would feel for making a mistake like that in front of so many people. It is really mean to make them feel worse about it by making whole threads dedicated to embarrassing them as much as you can
I think it was the final I watched earlier and it was the match after Itzu pulled off the 3 and they won. They did 3 wars and Dark..errr...tribal whatever won 2 -1. Itzu got a lower 2 star in the 2nd of the 3 and let the other clan squeak out a win on that match. A lot of e drag early and then they seemed to switch to PeBo. Itzu used miners every time that I remember.
Itzu’s team won, Tribe Gaming.
Yeah, and after watching the 3 wars I saw live, I got to say, I can't blame them for going for safer 2 stars mostly. They had almost no time to plan and they are only using 5 guys. This isn't a set up that really plays into the clan formerly known as dark looters strengths. None of the clans are able to plan much at all. They were pretty much just picking a composition, a funnel technique, and direction to attack from and hoping for the best. Very different from the multi stage attacks that they have everything planned out including the timing with contingencies and a spotter in your ear keeping you on track.
Before judging people's skill it's important to realise the facts. It's one attack per person format. This limits the amount of viable attack strategies to a very small number. Two star is a must for each attack and they have to plan every hit in a way that secures the two star and forces them to attack bases with strats that aren't optimal for achieving 3 stars. This lowers 3 star rate and we see less triples than what we would see in a war where attackers have two hits available. This also means that every base has to be hit fresh. Also attacking from a studio while being livestreamed differs from their usual environment where they normally attack. Considering these factors they did reasonably well. I highly doubt tribe pays them that much that they would live off from just playing clash which may allow them to cut some hours from work but not be a full-time clash player
This whole format was super weird. I get it why they did it this way cuz it woulda been incredibly boring to have 1 hour war streams and everyone attack in the last 5min.
But cmon they introduce the players and 5 min later someone already has to attack. You cant properly scout or plan anything. Just pick your favorite 2star strategy and go through the TH.
No wonder it was mostly edrag spam galore.
For the semis and finals there was limited time to scout bases. You had to scout your semi final opponent and also scout 3 bases for each of the other semi finalists since you didnt know who your opponent would be in the finals. So the clans competing on the last day had to scout 7 bases, 4 of which they may never see if finals went 2 rounds. So, there was no time to scout all the bases the way the clans wanted to. This was why there were some one stars and lower % that last day.
Unless you took part in the event and had a full understanding of the process you really shouldnt judge. These clans all did a great job and were amazing under the circumstances. The event provided plenty of excitement, drama and laughter and was quite entertaining.
