Is CoC a Closed Community

Just to set it straight: THIS IS NOT A HATE THREAD

Anyways, today I had the pleasure of visting Deck the Ballz, which was Azure Sky's winter clan. It was a nice visit, the people there were very nice and forthcoming about the stuff they were saying, but it got me thinking: Is CoC a closed community? This can go as far as saying that the people playing right now are the only people that will play, or just simply saying that people have formed their own "cliques"

During my visit, i talked with the lovely Maggie ;) and the topic came up about the forums. Quite frankly, i was really surprised that she knew who I was from the forums. And it's not like i don't contribute to the forum because I have posted meaningful things on various threads over the year. Anyways, later on in my visit, i met Daddy and Moe (Daddy and Fakhouri) and they didn't know who I am. I don't mean to sound egotistical in saying this, but don't you think that people in a game community like CoC ought to recognize each other, especially since we are the select few who associate on the forums?

Again, I don't mean for this to be a hate thread and I want to make it clear that my words aren't directed towards the individuals that I have mentioned, but this is referring to the CoC community as a whole.

Just a little idea that I had on this beautiful Tuesday night :)

I think its hard to know everyone. You for example, I recognize your avatar and name but thats about it. I go into norske some times, some people seem to recognize me, I recognize some as well but I don't associate everyone on the forums with their ign.

For me however I kinda do recognize everyone, I have pretty good memory. I meet people on global several times and ill remember them each time.

And im old so those younger peeps have an even easier time I bet ;)

I will defiantly remember a great many forumers, but not all. Not by a long shot.

I'm sure very few to none would recognize me. Why? Because I'm not a COC celebrity.

I made a thread once about coc celebrities but it was closed down because a mod thought "it didn't contribute" anything which is funny because lots of people think video games are a waste of time. Anyways i think coc celebrities are good for the game, and a good indicator of a successful game. It seems to me that coc celebrities are the most accessible since there are no professional players. I think heard Jorge Yao say he was sponsored in an interview once, so maybe thats the closest? We dont have "professional players", but we have many professionals that are players like myself!:cool:

I think it has more to do with the fact that there's thousands of forum members.

I had trouble remembering some people that I went to school with for four years in high school, and there was only a few hundred of them.

Not everybody sticks out.

If your IGN was the same as your forum name, or if you told it to me, I'm sure I would recognize most of you. In a good way or bad way, who knows?:rolleyes:

I think it would be challenging to recognise and also remember, I recognise lots of the guys who post a lot but not so many of the guys who come on not very often.

Yet also if you have a different ign to your forum name it will be hard to recognise.
