Reading all these posts has me thinking one thing: If SC allows for clan name changes how would it work? Pay with gems? Cash?
Who in the clan would have access to change the name?
The leader? What if he/she doesn't want to spend his/her gems/money for a clan name change?
"Well, give leader to someone else & they give it back", you might argue.
But what if they don't give it back?
Allow co-leaders to change it? What if 15 or 20 co-leaders all decide to change the name?
That'll cause a lot of issues.
Frankly, I like that SC has made an exception to their rules. This now sets a precedent for the future for other clans to be able to get their names changed, eventually.
I also like all the free advertising SC is getting. Do people even know how much money companies pay for advertising per year? Advertising is a billion dollar (USD) industry.
Companies pay out money to have their product on a certain shelf in grocery stores. Why? Because people tend to look at eye level shelves 1st, then look above/below. This is one part of advertising: product placement. And companies shell out millions of USD for specific placement of their products.
SC is not having to spend much, if at all, for this advertising. They are saving revenue that in turn can go into further game development.
To those complaining about the name change being unfair: as a child I had an earlier bedtime, than my older brother & sister. Was this fair in my eyes? Of course not, but b/c they were older, our parents let them stay up later.
Dark Looters is the older "sibling" and they get to "stay up later".
Such is life. Deal with it.
Well we both know I won’t make it! I can barely handle showing up for war:facepalm: I do fail to see how even the hardcore players only participating in the esports side is bad for the game? If it continues and grows to more sponsored teams (more name changes! Gasp!) then CoC just gets that much more exposure and media attention. That equals more people gaining interest in playing. People playing is what keeps the game alive. Players like you and I still have the same great game to play and now it’s getting a huge boost from esports coverage. I don’t ever plan on getting a coach or manager but I’d like to hangout in Champs 1 during CWL and still think that’s feasible. No one here has really given any real evidence on how esports (or a clan name change due to esports) would adversely affect the game. I don’t play many other mobile games but I was under the impression that the ones with esports venues were the big ones? The games played by tens of millions? I certainly don’t play Clash Royale but it seems that esports have been a huge boon to it.Quote:

Plan to continue watching additional rounds, only thing that makes it boring is Edragon after Edragon attack, but from what I see in game now that’s the crutch attack.
My opinion on clan name name change is if you allow it for one, you IMMEDIATELY, allow it for all, and if you don’t, you absolutely take a ding on your integrity! Like allowing one child to eat, while the others go hungry and watch lol, seems to be a lot of hungry kids wanting to change names.
I don’t know what you mean by “players is wrong” but I definitely disagree with your thought that SC making money isn’t good for the game. It is. That money is what keeps them working on the game, adding new content, etc. I’ve played for 6 years. I wouldn’t have been able to get 6 years of entertainment out of this game if not for SC making money from it. I would like to play 6 more years. As long as they are making money in ways that don’t impact me at all (such as allowing this name change or selling decorative items) or in ways that have always been part of the game (faster progression) I am happy. What would not make me happy is if they ever went the direction of allowing players to buy an advantage other than fast progression. For example, selling a hero skin that makes the hero stronger. That would be a total change in everything this game is about, so I can’t see it happening, but it would be when I would stop enjoying the game if it ever did happen.Quote:

I didn't make any comment on name change yet, bcz I have mixed feelings regarding it. Personally, I don't care about any other clan getting a name change, but on the other hand, I also feel like was it really necessary? Plus, I think Dark Looters is a better name, so not really happy about the new name, feel like it's meh.:facepalm:
