The Hay Day Scorched Earth Challenge (ver 2.0)

every available item in the game, and will take at LEAST 24 DAYS of constant production (but probably longer)! As an additional incredibly difficult challenge, you can only buy fruit trees and bushes with money earned from selling items created DURING the challenge. This will take a little bit of book keeping on your part unless you want to spend all of your cash before starting (not recommended, seriously, that's just crazy talk).

I read this as you can choose to start with no coins to make it even harder. Is this correct?

Have I made a mistake already by using my coins i had to purchase some trees and bushes :(

I have emptied my barn and silo of everything except one crop of everything (14 crops). I have removed all bushes and trees to corner and I'm treating as not there(full of fruit that I won't touch for duration of challenge) I have empty machines, hungry animals, no town folk, no fishing tackle.

i have a bee tree and about 100 nectar bushes! I can't just ignore them as bees will automatically go to all nectar bushes regardless of where they are.

Would you say I'm ok to start utterly ridiculous mode? If you have to pretend that you have no coins before starting i need to remove all the nectar bushes and start from 1 bought from money generated via crop growing.

You can start with no coins, but you don't have to. You don't have to stick to any of the rules - this is a player-devised challenge and it's been done with so many variations exactly because it won't work for each player in the same way. If you want to keep your coins, bee production, or anything else, if you want to add or subtract any part of the challenge, go for it. Typically, any personal adjustments to the challenge are noted in the first post of your narrative for the benefit of those following along, or in the first post after you've made a change. And if you scroll through the thread you'll notice a lot of adjustments get made, either at the beginning or further along.

The point is to challenge yourself, and hopefully gain a new appreciation of the game and how it works now as opposed to when you started playing. Do you learn anything about your game play or the interplay of the production and consumption aspects of the game? Do you find you can enjoy an aspect the of game that previously frustrated you? Have you achieved something you previously thought was impossible? Are you having fun? Make the challenge work for you. And let us know how it goes - we all like to live a bit vicariously through every challenge.

Well it's day one of my challenge. It was very hard to get my head around the idea of selling off everything that I had built up but once I got started it was ok. My NH were certainly very happy about my sudden urge to purge my barn and silo!

So These are my starting stats....

I removed all my trees and bushes to the other side of my farm as I didn't want to use about 400 tools to remove them. I have decided to use my coins to purchase new trees and bushes (3 of each to start with) I have kept my nectar bushes. I had about 100 and even if i moved them the bees would have used them and as I was starting with coins I would have purchased them anyway.

tool box empty, machines empty, town empty, fishing empty, animals hungry.
I will be keeping any mining tools gifted to me by pets but will sell any mining tools won on WOF.
I have kept my BEM & SEM as well as axes and saws but apart from that barn is empty.
One of each crop kept (14)

Since starting I have already made good progress. I started crops off first and now have a healthy supply of corn, wheat, carrots and soy beans. The others are gonna take a while! I have not grown wheat for ages so enjoying the change. All feed for animals now made and I've already harvested more eggs in the past few hours than the past year!

I think That although I still have a lot of products to make I fell I've made good progress. Things slowing down the challenge as expected is the whole mining to get ore. I have spent time wheating but I don't seem to be getting the tools dropping so I can actually mine the ore! I was told this was the main time consuming issue with the metal illness or ultimate mode. Only time will tell if I carry on after completing the candy stage. I am going to keep any coal for the top hat now rather than using it in jewellery for this reason. I expect to have everything done in the next few days week except for the jewellery, jam and candy
