Is training potion ineffective for last 10 minutes

I have been observing this for quiet a few time. Recent example is that i was training an army with training time 40 minutes. The last 5 minutes of boost were left. So after 5 minutes 20 min training must have finished. In the mean time i did an attack and when returned to my village the training time left was 33 minutes. I have observed it a lot of times since i have started using training potion. So if really want to have full value of your training potion. You must stick around your home base and see your army getting trained otherwise supercell do these cheap tricks and cheats with you.

See if others also observe the same.

Chances are, that you miscalculated.

More tests are needed.

If an army required 45 minutes and potion is less 10 minutes...... system calculate the 4x on the 45 minutes of army and less 10 minutes of potion....think about a full army of witch....or gibowi....53 minutes of army.... potion is 6 minutes ? too late...

You don't give enough variables for a correct calculation... so please don't use terms like 'cheap tricks' and 'cheat' without all the relevant information...

I have not witnessed such things myself, whenever I use a training potion my army is ready after raiding. Unless a training potion is about to and will run out but then a proportionate training time has passed when I get back to my village.

One thing to keep in mind is that you don’t have any barracks upgrading when looking at these things or also calculate with the correct army training time with the barrack upgrading because as we know army training time generally goes up when barracks are upgrading and part of your army comes from those barracks types.

The times seems to be reasonable at the end ........ but the displayed timer are often completely out of tune meanwhile, when a potion is about to run out.

And in the end of last 10 to 15 min it gets slow

^ I think this is the answer. The potion works OK, but the timer in the main troop screen doesn't count it properly. When there is plenty of potion left the troop screen shows the boosted time. But when the potion will run out soon, it doesn't seem to use the correct potion time, and it will overstate the time remaining

Part of that confusion is caused by the issue that there’s several timers for troop training time in different screens and when there’s a boost on these timers are inconsistent. There’s the army overview screen showing remaining time and the barrack and spell queue where you load your army and spells to cook.

When you use a boost or potion one screen will show the normal cook time counting down at high / boosted speed. For example if the army takes 20 minutes it shows 20 minutes counting down fast.
Whereas another screen will show the actual time left of how long you really have to wait for the army to be ready on boosted speed and that counts down just as any normal clock would. so a 20 minute army would show as 5 minutes because that’s the actual time it takes.

And that has confused me on occasions as well.

To be as exact as possible (I never cared enough to figure out the exact trigger), somewhere in the last 10-20 minutes of training potion time, the calculated time will go inaccurate if the non-boosted time is greater than the amount of training potion time you have left. However, boost does continue. If youy have any questions about this, go to the troop training page and see the timer fast counting. Once non-boosted time drops under the amount of training potion time, it will show the correct calculated time.

I tried to explain that as simply as possible, but it's a complex error and my primary language (gibberish/Engineerese) was taking over my fingers.

Bottom line, the calculated time is completely messed up at the end. SC isn't cheating anybody.

The worst thing the OP could accurately say is that it's sloppy programming.

But it's this one that can be wrong. If you have plenty of potion left the main army screen will show 5 minutes for a 20 minute army. But if you have, say, 7 minutes of potion left it tends to say something like 15 minutes - when obviously the army will still cook in 5 minutes since the potion is longer than that. There's something wrong in that calculation - as if it divides the remaining potion time by 4 as well, or something

Naaa, they timer are just bugged most of times....

As someone already pointed out, the bug is in display calculation of training times while potion is running out. I have witnessed it several times, but the actual training works perfectly fine. They need to fix the bug in how they calculate training times when training potion is not enough to complete entire army in queue, calculation gets messed up there. Not a big deal, just need to get addressed whenever they want.

There is a bug in the calculation but that's not what op is referring to. The last few mins of training potion doesn't work if you log off or go for a raid and don't return before the boost runs out.
For example, if you have 5 mins if boost remaining and 30 mins worth of training time for full army, training potion should complete 5x4=20 mins of training and you should be left with 10 mins of training after the boost runs out. It works perfectly till the end if you have your home village open, but if you log off or go for a raid, and don't return to home village before boost runs out, you'll find that you have 25 mins of training remaining and the last 5 mins of boost didn't count.

You can test it out, not that hard. Just put a 30 min army in queue in the last 5 mins of training potion with empty camps, then log off immediately. Return after 6 mins when you're sure the boost has ran out. You'll see the difference. Let us know the results if you do decide to test it for yourself.

I have tested it. My all four barracks were available. I trained a 32 min army. I went on to attack when 5 min 20 sec. were left. I did my attack and returned after 4 min. So simple maths 16 min army should have trained. But only 8 min army was trained. By the way i m a maths guy so misclculation not a chance. I have even recorded it.

I also got same error. This mis-calculation is due to comparing the the portion left time and troops training time. They must divide with 4 then compare to get correct time. Thank you👍.

If you had no shield and logged off during the training time, there is always the problem of the poor design of game clocks.

Some clocks are programmed to stop during events such as your base being scouted (when offered for attack) and during attacks. You will notice these shifts are more pronounced during periods of high activity if you base is offered a lot but rarely attacked.

Others expire at certain times based on a preset time (rather than the previous countdown timers which are paused for certain events). Probably the training potion follows this pattern.

While I am training troops with 45 minutes and I have 10 minutes of training portion left, then it shows 35 minutes instead of 15 minutes.

No. It is effective till the last second

With all the events going on, I have boosted my barracks loads lately and it's always been effective right until the last second. I don't see why it wouldn't be.
