A good single-upgrade attack is hogs. Level 5 hogs can be viable at TH9. Depending on the base you'll probably want a golem, or bowlers, or hogs in the cc. The important thing for a hog attack is getting rid of the enemy cc and aq before they kill a bunch of your hogs, so if the aq is central, that means having a kill squad to go in and get her. Usually this kill squad will have at least one golem but, like I said, it's base specific. Once your AQ is big enough you can sometimes use an AQ charge, but it is unlikely, early on, that your AQ will be big enough.
Once you unlock lava hounds, lalo is a good strategy. You'll definitely need the loon upgrade to level 6, and you would benefit from having haste unlocked and leveled up to 2 (it lasts twice as long), but the lava hound upgrade to 2 is not strictly required, if you are hitting early Th9s.
Since you have giants leveled, once you do hogs, HGHB might be an option. That's Hogs, Giants, Healers, Bowlers (which come from the CC). In a nutshell, you send in giants, healers, bowlers and heroes to cut into the base, and then when everything is shooting at them, send in hogs from one side. It can be tricky because giants and bowlers like to path differently and if they separate, the bowlers die and everything falls apart. But when you get the interior pathing right (jump can help with this, and leveling up jump gives a big boost) it is a difficult attack to defeat. There are good HGHB videos on youtube.
