I am fairly new and Im not sure if this is intended or not but when i was attacked recently my troops were not in their camps when i was attacked? but they are clearly in my base whats the deal?

Troops in your camps do not help in defense. There was a time, way back in the begining, where the troops in your camps were destroyed if attacked, all the while not defending.
To answer your question, troops in defense do not show up inside the camps. That's all. It only shows up when u visit another person or if u look at ur own base. For example, go attack someone and their army camps will always be empty. :)
If you wish for troops to defend your base get a clan castle and they can help defend and attack at no additional cost ;)Quote:
