Kik, line, palringo and glassboard are all good apps for this

we used this in our past game and it worked like a charm. not sure how clans usualy comunicate here with others tho. in our last game it was also used by ingame- and forum mods, way better than coc-ingame global

We currently use glass board, but we`ve used kik in the past...can`t remember it being that good:(

kik and glassboard.. Just takes some time to get clan to use.
But very good to keep in contact...
The bear family has a enjin site (complete with forums and chat) that we use to communicate. Additionally the elders use additional forms of communication.

Glassboard is more organized, but Kik is kind of the casual contact, so it's your preference.
We've noticed that every player seems to use communication different so we use multiple methods, website, glassboard and forums. Some people are heavier users of one or the other but by using multiple platforms we can get messages through our 150+ account/member community pretty quickly.
Some people though, will never use whatever you set up so keep that in mind!
How many people can you have in a conversation on glass board? I know one of the frustrations we have on kik is that you can only have a maximum of 9... Maybe it would be worth us switching...?
