Those %6&@$!# kids!!!

Ok, so I'm pretty annoyed right now. I was just (yet again) banned from global for no reason. Some dude was saying some stuff that we don't want to hear (something not appropriate for forums), that sorta thing. And I said "something else not appropriate for forums?". Then I leave the global coz I'm trying to recruit and i wanna stay outta arguments. So I switch global, and I'm banned. My clan is a lvl 60+ clan that only just started and has 6 members. This is a very bad time to get banned and could mean bad things for my clan.

A more formal request for why a player has to be banned would a good solution to this problem. A player would write down the reason and a moderator would check the chat logs from that particular ban and see if the player really deserves a ban.

Responses are appreciated. Thank you.

Supercell has about 100 employees and thousands of people on global at a time. Moderators aren't gonna happen.

I'll try recruiting on the forums for now. And one of my 2 elders has a friend that is like lvl 130 so he may be able to recruit for us.

Easy fix, add mods that monitor the players chat log. If they did someone bad then a ban is issued. This would give more jobs for Finland and help their economy. :)

It's a good way to recruit and now that that way has been cut off, things will be harder. Don't say recruit on the forums. All us little clans and lower lvls can't compete with you higher uppers.

Sweeping the issue under the rug is no solution to this problem. The point is that an aspect of the game being self moderated by children and pre♥♥♥♥scent adults is something that SC needs to address.

There's no need to change the system as for the majority, it's not a problem. Just like any other issue ever raised on the forum.

Maybe they should add a system, that allows you to gem the ban timer, so by paying, you can go back to global in no time...

Why not after 3 swear words in one hour your banned for 12 hours and so on?

Only problem is, the censorship is really bad, and most people would get banned for saying perfectly fine things, and others wouldn't be banned at all for saying inappropriate words, which is no better than it is now.

No, it's not a problem for the majority, but it is a problem for the innocent, and in my mind, that's a huge issue.

Ive pulled this thread out of the closet once again. This or any other compromise that gives the innocent a better chance of avoiding undue punishment is a better system than what we have currently.

Muting doesn't cover it though. Yeah reporting an offensive player will solve your problem, but then other people have it as their problem and he/she will continue to abuse/insult others. The report/ban system is there to punish people who abuse the rules.

You mean muting? Best way against a troll : ignore him. Banning him won't work and he'll just comeback; that's troll mentality. The perfect tool for that is the mute button, it's just a tap on the name and tap mute, DONE, immediate effect, way quicker and more efficient than reporting.

A reporting system that's controlled by 10 years old without any modulation will never work. And it indeed doesn't work properly at all basing on all the valid complain from users so far.

You're misinterpreting my point. If you mute someone yes it solves your problem, but they will continue to abuse others. Banning will maybe teach them a lesson and keep them off for a day or two.

No, they're trolls for a reason, banning 1 or 2 days won't stop them, they WILL come back. Banning them may in fact be an indication of their effective trolling, so no, that's not a good way against the troll. In fact, the trolls are abusing this very system to ♥♥♥♥ of people.

I read this as, i picked a fight but then, I left so why should there be consequences? Global has its issues and sometimes the many threads with complaints are legitimate but this one rings hollow to me.

The the system could be better but it's not terrible and any fix I can think of would cost far more than the added enjoyment of the game would be worth.

Make it people are immediatly banned for using cuss words, and SC will provide a list here of the words that are "cuss" words in the Global.

That's the annoying thing. Since my words got changed it makes me sound bad but someone said they do a certain thing that involves swallowing seamen and i said ick who would want to swallow seamen. I didn't like the way this guy was acting and i was meant to be recruiting, so I left.

I know of another mobile online game that will change the curse word to some random word, like chicken or tiny, etc. The only way around it is when people use accents on those words. It is simple enough for SC to add the same cuss words with all combinations of their accented counterparts and bada-bing bada-boom, cussing is removed from global.

The other problem with global is just the immaturity that comes with a non-age restricted game. Yes, 10 year olds will come and just report people to report people and you can't do anything about that.

I am not going to say that this is the main point, but why recruit from Global where the noobs are? The good players in Global are already loyal to good clans. The people that need a clan are people that just started and need a clan for the sake of needing a consistent person to talk to? Recruiting on the Forums is a better idea because the knowledgeable players are here. You may say that there are also noobs on the forums, but they are here to learn and become those knowledgeable people.

Not every decent player goes on the forums. And lots of high level players recruited from global have, for example gotten unlucky and had their clan go inactive. There are heaps of possible reasons why a high level player that doesn't go on the forums could be out of a clan. Yes, I have to switch between globals quite a bit sometimes before I find someone. But you can recruit people from global quite easily.

No, i cant guarantee that everyone will use the mute, but the point is that it's their choice. By the logic of your above statements, you are giving the right for an individual to determine what's appropriate for YOU/me/others to view. What offends that individual, may not offend you, me or anyone else. I, for one like having the freedom of choice, i.e., the mute button. While at its basic necessity, censorship has a strong moral foundation, but, the more you scratch at the surface, the more that moral foundation erodes into a missused power or control issue.

If you scroll up and view the link in one of my previous posts in this thread, you will see that there are other options to the flawed system that is currently global.

Global should be another social aspect of this game, as I believe it was intended. Where it is currently, it is little used by mature individuals who would otherwise have another place to chat. Once the innocent were targeted, it degraded into what we have now, something I'm suprised SC allowed to happen.

Recruiting on the forums seems to have a less likely chance of success than on global. Considering, as you mentioned, good players on global already have good clans, and as I will mention, good players, the majority, on the forums already have good clans as well. This, and the fact that the forums are a very small example of the total population of the game.

Almost as bad as getting in an argument.

They ask you questions or comment and get no response (you can't see their comments) but know you are still there trying to recruit others.
Sure fire way to have noobs click report.

Mute needs to be reconfigured so that if I mute someone then my comments are also muted from them as well.

New clans recruiting, global is a pain. Hoping that dropping from Masters to Crystal will make me less of a Noob target, but who knows.

You don't understand why someone is annoyed about losing access to something YOU don't care about.

Many players do care, because you aren't one doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist.

The report button is the problem, a bunch of idiots can collectively report you any stupid reason; such as been high level and the noobs are scared you will get their next new awesome member and you are banned...

I agree get rid of the report button because at the moment global is for people who arnt banned at the moment. A lot of the times i say hi nothing much happens so i switch global and find I'm banned. I also hate when u do get a bunch of people who won't report and we can actually chat i can't even say certain words even though they arnt mean or abusive can i please have the choice in what words i say because if they don't like it then they can leave

A bit of a skewed arguement on your part, as the players who will report you for ignoring them are the same players who will report you for not allowing them into your clan, not joining their clan, being crystal+, for recruiting, because they can, etc., etc.

I've been playing for a year. I switch with another elder as leader of our clan, I'm level 107, and currently in Crystal II.

I don't often go to global, but when we need a few peeps, that is how I recruit.

Maybe I'm alone, or maybe I'm lucky, but I've never been banned. *shrug*

Sometimes just being in Masters in global is all you need to do to get the 24 hour ban. It's happened to me and many others for absolutely no reason other than not letting a newish player join your clan. No matter how polite you are, just being in global at times is enough to get banned. Now I won't even speak in global unless players crystal or above are chatting.

They should get rid of the report button all together now that there is a mute button. But that's just my opinion

You're missing the point. The report button is meant for those who are feeling offended by what others are saying to them or to everyone in global, the mute button solves the exact same problem but cannot be abused. Whether people decide to use it or not is meaningless.

Most here are focused on fixing the broken banning system when the real fix is to remove it entirely. The mute feature is enough.

It's very frustrating to see that the main argument against removing the report feature is that "If you mute someone yes it solves your problem, but they will continue to abuse others." With the mute button being there, EVERYONE has the power to pick and choose what stuff they want to and don't want to see. Obviously if there's a troll in global, those offended by him will mute him. Problem solved, he's not annoying anyone anymore, because those bothered by him muted him! I honestly don't see the problem here... By removing Report, you get rid of the immature ten year olds who can't stand that you have a better clan, base, etc than them. But you also keep the troll combating power of Report by having mute, as anyone offended by something can simply mute the offensive person.

That younger person will see the offensive language either way. If the person has been banned, his previous posts remain in chat until they are pushed down off the screen. If that person hasnt been banned, the younger person has the option to tap mute.

More times than not, it seems to be the younger person using the offensive language, not to mention that I rarely see someone getting banned for using it.

LoL, as you state that you are twelve years old, I will only say that, I doubt SC would be in the financial position they're currently in if this game was solely targeted towards children, and that, no I wasn't like them when I was there age. The terms mister, misses, yes sir, no mam, thank you, please, etc., etc..., are and remain within my vocabulary. Words I see them using on global weren't, at least not until I was approaching 18 years. ;-)

Lol hard to win against kids they are so brutal in global some dont even know what they are saying or what the words mean.I have been called every name in the book,been told wish your mother was dead ect ect ect .I try not to insult them,i move on to another global if i am recruit but doesnt make game fun.


But maybe a bit more moderation by parents would work better

Really can't see why the report button are left, non of the arguments makes any sense to be honest.

-Learning them a lesson! Really? Does it seem like trolls care about beeing banned for 24h? Ignoring are the best method.
-Other people can still see the messages or he/she will only move to a different global and continue! We have all been Young and I'm pretty sure that we all can agree on that beeing ignored was the worst, they are obviously acting out in global to get attention. Other people can use the mute button aswell just as easily as the report button, even more effectively, because it's instant and remove all prior vulgarity.
-It's to protect younger Children! Are we expecting younger Children to press the report button but can't press the mute button? Or are we expecting that they can't do either and that other people will report the "offender"? If they are online they're obviously capable of pressing mute.

Actually you are totally wrong on this one,this game was developed for all ages.I read an interview with a supercell employee who said they designed so it wasn't too dark and not too animated so that all ages would like it.They tried to strike a balance in between which they obviously did perfectly

Supercell could hire volunteer Moderators with strict consequences like Eternity Dragon ios MMORPG has. The mods can silence rule breakers in chat for 30 mins to weeks if they want. They also "s h a c k l e" players so they can't even login and charge them $$ to get out. Believe me, you don't see people acting up on their servers! If Supercell had strict rules with good mods enforcing them, it would be good.

This is even worse. It would be a massive job finding enough extremely responsible people to do this kind of moderation. You could guarantee that if you recruited enough mods to make any kind of impact overall, there would be several who would be inadequate, and anyone who got charged to come back on the game or banned would just complain that they got banned for no reason, and it would be difficult to prove otherwise. Chaos.

God grief, this is getting out of hand.

There should not be moderating of global, as it is used and maintained by players. The fact that lots of players on it are immature or actual children surely points out the necessity of staying away? I avoid cinemas at the weekend for the same reason.

The best recruits we get to our clan are those that join when they get hammered in an attack, and look at our clan to see who did it. Our immensely impressive donations encourage a join request and our thrilling yet racy chat keeps em.

Global is a playground. I'm an adult, and I prefer pubs.

Get rid of the report button , problem fixed!
