Battle related - Defensive Victory Bonus

When you gain a defensive victory of 0 stars you receive gold/elixir.

• Defensive village layouts will be encouraged and rewarded.
• Trophy deflation will be discouraged.
• Players will attack at their intended trophy level.
• Players will be encouraged to remain shieldless to gain additional loot while offline. This will increase the amount of matchmaking.
• Superior defensive setups who win multiple battles while offline have the chance to fill storages yet at the same time give attackers a greater incentive to attack what may have been lesser filled storages when the defender first logged off.
• Defender may never get to use what they gained but overall will increase matchmaking incentive and defensive setup.

Suggestion:

Successful defense should give bonus equal to successful attack bonus. This can follow the same table as victories found here:

Optional addition:
x amount of raided loot is returned to defender


Example:

Attacker uses goblins to raid 100,000 get's 0 stars and destroys 15%.
Defender is awarded defensive bonuses based on league level 21,000 for Crystal III 50 DE.

Optional
Defender is returned loot equal to 100,000(raided loot)x(50%(required amount destroyed for 1 star)-15%(amount actually destroyed) in this case that would be 100,000x.35 or 35,000 of the 100,000 returned.

End Result:
Attacker loses trophies
Defender gains trophies
Attacker gains 65,000 loot
Defender maintains 35,000 loot
Defender receives defensive bonus according to existing offensive bonus table

Why would I attack someone and lose loot for losing the overall battle?

Imagine lvl 100's farming and they barely lose. Tadah! You lost a 100k of each

Can you please elaborate as I am only level 67 and not familiar with higher level attacks/defending?

Are there any statistics on how often level 100+ players defend successfully(0 stars)?

Suggestion of 1,000 gold/elixir per player level taken from attacker and awarded to defender for 0 star victories. Player level of 63 attacks a player level of 75 and loses with 0 stars. Attacker loses 63,000 gold/elixir and defender gains the same amount.

I see what you're trying to do here, and I appreciate the effort you've put into this, but it needs a major tweak. The penalty seems too extreme, also implausible. In your example the attacker loses 63k, well if he didn't acquire that much loot in the battle, how does it make any sense for the loot back home to magically disappear? It's not as if raiding parties take loot along with them while attacking.

The penalty could be maybe 25%-50% of the loot gained on the failed raid. This would be much more believable because when the troops are running home with their tails between their legs, they're likely to drop some of the encumbering loot in their haste.

Edit: I mean come on, farming is the heart of this game. Too high a penalty would cripple it.

I totally agree and I don't care much about what the actual bonus is just that there is one. Even a small one will accomplish the points I have made.

To your point, first off 100% of the raided loot should be returned since all the attacking troops died.

Now as for a bonus given for successful (0 star) defense... instead of taking from the attackers storage, maybe just a flat rate for the defender based on TH level? 10,000/10,000 per TH level?

Taking 100% of the loot gained would render farming useless. I can't tell you how many times I've scraped a ton of loot off someone while still technically losing the battle. Also, people don't necessarily have to deploy every troop to the battlefield. So then, they didn't all die anyway.

The bonus for the defender is s/he didn't lose as much loot! haha(plus they already get trophies for winning)

I have edited the OP for the bonus to match the table for victory bonuses by league level. This seems very reasonable and I hope SC will seriously consider.

Now as for returned loot, I do see where farming is often just of collectors and with the assumption of 0 star. Perhaps it could be based on 0 star + < n%? Defender gets defensive bonus based on league level and the remaining of the 50% in loot returned.

Example:

SneakyDave boots up his iDevice to another day of Clash. He clicks raid, he needs to go to the bathroom, he loses a battle because of the 3 minute mark, he lose 267k of each. SneakyDave sets out on an adventure to assassinate you.

I have had this same thought, only with a different idea for the loot bonus.
The loot should be a percentage of the available loot bonus from the attacker. Say in Gold 3, the loot bonus is something like 5,800 gold/elixer. The defender should get maybe 50-100% of that loot from the attackers storage.

If it gives the defender extra loot determined by their loot bonus, then its ok, but if the attacker can only get full lot if they win, than its terrible.

To Put it simply, this is just plain stupid. Supercell put losing resources into the game partly to make it harder to amass large loot amounts. If this is removed, farming will become wayyyyy MORE prominent, people would drop to leagues where they can't lose. For example, little Jonny is level 100, when he can gain loot back on battles he wins, he decided to drop from gold 1 to bronze 3 to avoid losing any big loot.

I agree originally this thread included the idea of penalizing for losing on purpose/deflating trophies. I think attackers should be able to lose resources as well.
