I have 715 gems, and if I complete the rest of my achievements, I'll have 1395. Not enough for a 5th builder. Should I just use the gems for a Barb King? I have TH lvl7, no DE drill available yet.

Gemming resources is just a waste. 10k DE isn't hard to get, and anyway the BK isn't even that great. Save gems for the 5th builder or to speed up some troop researches at TH9.Quote:

I agree get the builder. No need to gem the king in my opinion, he's a cool extra to have but builder huts are the first thing you should spend gems on.

10k DE is easy... Takes less than a day even at TH 7

I know dark elixir is harder to get now but....spending gems for DE is a waste! I'm a TH7 and I just find find exposed collectors and raid them or just spell the Storage. I get like 4000+ a day from maybe 10 attacks. It's not that hard. Getting the Barb King is not the only time you're gonna use DE. You will have to train yourself to farm DE sooner of later... What i did was use the spell boost then do lightning raids. You can also do regular raids while waiting for your spells. That was before the update in which you can boost for 12 hours. I got my BK to level 3 using that strategy. Yes, its true. You can raise 10k de in a day :)

most people who know what they're doing can get 10k in about 4-6 hours, but even if you don't, hunting DE is part of the fun.
oh and if the other posters didn't give away the clue: barb king isn't that amazing.
The problem with lightning spell raid is the revenge lol! Yes, its true that its more important to get a builder rather than gem the Bk :)

My friend did this and he regrets it.It is a waste of your gems.Your better putting a extra few pounds into just buying the 5th builder.I know at town hall 7,yes it is really hard at the start but you will improve.I know everyone's first thought is to just get a barb king but it's not all that good at the low levels.
