How effective are centralized heroes when defending?

What do you all prefer when designing or choosing a layout in terms of hero placement? How important are centralized heroes for you?

I personally have found that even though they are centralized on my base, they are rather easily lured and killed and use that space for other defenses or storages.

Just wondering what are everyones thoughts on this.

depends on cup level, a Lot of armies use troops that target defense. If the heros are not lured they can really mess up an attack. Just luring the heros wastes troops and time so it has some benefit imho.

I usually only keep my heroes on defense overnight because I don't think its worth it for a regen time of 2 hours if they're only gonna kill 10 troops

Great question, not sure its the correct sub-forum.

It depends on what your priorities are. While I 'farm' it is more important to have them while attacking. Otherwise while I trophy run I keep them available while I defend.

Almost any layout allows your CC to be drawn out. Smart attackers will know how to do this anyways.

Yeas the more and more I play, I find the people that DO attack me easily lure the CC and heroes. Sometimes almost looks effortless.

A majority of the time your heros will be lureable as they wander. Unless for symmetry they arnet nessasary to be central.

I like them centralized personally that way the fool hardy attacker will have to commit attacking resources to getting them out taking out ten to twenty archers could make all the difference in a battle some times. Also it keeps them out of paltry attacks where it's no real threat and all that can happen is they get taken out of action for 2hrs

Don't think placement is all that important. Having the two heroes close to each other though, that is good. If one gets targetted, the other piles in. Watching the AQ take out lure troops while the BK tanks is jolly amusing.

I place my bk closer to the edge of the map so that he's very annoying to lure. Also if several CC archers pop out to back him up then your raider is going to be very irritated.

Cnntralize AQ. Then it can shoot troopss rom behind wLls.Then draw the tropps inside and get shot down by defences
