TH8 Successful Farm and Trophy Bases, by Anarchos
Ok, so I've finally decided to make the plunge from TH8 to TH9. I'm nearly maxed (roughly 30 days worth of defensive upgrades left) and the new loot system doesn't favor staying at TH8 to max out the way it used to, so I'm confident I'm ready for TH9. That being said I've designed my own TH8 farm and trophy bases and I've had extreme success with both.
DISCLAIMER- CoC is not a new game and TH8 has been around for 12 months. I fully designed both of my layouts and do claim ownership of them, but that doesn't mean someone out there I haven't met hasn't used a variation of his own.
Farm Base:

-You'll notice its as symmetrical as a TH9 can get with only 3 ADs and 3 WTs and an odd number of cannons and ATs.
-CC is 100% non lurable without first taking out buildings that are within the range of the defenses.
-Splash defenses are all seperated as best possible.
-Mortars are triangulated, as well as Wizard Towers and Air Defenses.
-Teslas, while not enclosed behind walls are placed where they're fully safeguarded, and any hog or giant near them will be blown sky high.
-Gold and DE storages are all separated to fully reduce any that may be taken during an assault.
-Cannons and Archer Towers are in pentagon shapes for max coverage, and spread in a AT/Cannon/AT/Cannon order for maximum defense.
-Bombs are set in the highly trafficked entrances. Not sure why, but every hog and or giant defense I've had has started by the ATs or cannons that are compartmentalizations by themselves.

You'll notice there are only 5 closed compartments including the core, while there are 8 open compartments. The TH is slightly off centered in order to better center the CC and help reduce its lurability (not sure that's a real word).
-CC only lurable after a few outer buildings are picked off.
-TH centered with no "weak side" of base.
-Splash is triangulated and spread out.
-Cannons and Archer Towers are all spread in pentagon shapes to maximize coverage.
-Open compartments with Cannons and Archer Towers have funnels that shred ground based attacks.
-Storages spread so only a 3 star, or nearly 3 star raid will get all the loot.
-Attackers can notice small deploy areas close to base on south end, and it tends to get most attackers to deploy there, although these areas are deliberately opened to initiate giant / hog AI in the direction of funnels.

Here is the wall blueprint of my base. Using this base I won 7 defenses between 2,000 to 2,400 trophies and won 2 defenses (43% and 49%) above the 2600 trophy range. I peaked at 2726 trophies but won no defenses over 2650.
