The problem is the definition of a bad set of tires. Do they need more grip? Less grip? What fix makes everyone win? Guarantee if it were an exact th level and weight match, the bottom 4 would be on the forum complaining of unfair matches. Many of the proposed fixes are throw the baby out with the bathwater variety. I'm more in the let's see how things settle out camp. And, btw, we are getting stomped this round. Some mismatches, some I'm going to put on the only gets wallbreakers in cc forever for not taking the free exposed th star.
We didn't know how weighting worked round 1. We had 2 TH12 at the time (as described by the one new one now). The second one does not war and thus counted as weight where he wouldn't have otherwise. Two TH11s were in a similar position.
Right now we're getting about 25-30 stars per war. It turns out TH8s can't dent TH10s and the rest of the matchups across the board have been beyond dumb.
My point was that you can be in a situation like ours where you definitely aren't in the right place but the system keeps you where you are because it's "right".
I agree - see above. We got placed in Crystal 3, won two war leagues because... well we win roughly 80-90% of wars where there is any semblance of weighting.
Screwing the hardcore fanbase is a good way to sink a game and company historically.
How do you know who the hardcore fan base is?
Do you know what percentage of players that 'hardcore fan base' consists of?
Do you know how much that 'hardcore fan base' spends on the game?
Do you know what the 'hardcore fan base' really thinks about the CWL?
I know that the more competitive people are typically within the demographic and I know that in clash this doesn't necessarily translate to pushing every base to true max. I know that "more progressed is better" has never been the mentality of the hardcore war base: what almost everyone imagine war league catering to.
I also know that having an attitude of leaving a clan which identifies closer to that side of the group in a perpetual state of being screwed in the system as acceptable is a terrible idea. I know how roughly 90 other people view this system and I know how they identify as well.
I hope you're able to get out of the purgatory soon as well :)
Oh for sure, you are never going to find a solution that makes everyone happy but you start by giving everyone the same tool-set to play with you, at least then have a good foundation for a skill based competitive environment, which is universal for any well adopted game, be it chess, starcraft, counter strike, or pong.
And of course we really don't have any option but to hurry up and wait, which is why we are on the forum theory crafting while we search the clouds, heh.
As far as the tires, it was just a loose analogy not meant for in depth exploration of compound chemistry of a mickey Thompson related to a nitto ;P
Some people mistakenly think someone else has lack of vision when in fact they just actually like the thing that the first person is claiming is a flaw.
There are a few things I would change about war leagues. The main thing being complained of here, though, the lack of weight matching, is not one of them. I like it.
 Just believe me, I don't support my claims with any proof! I told you it won't work because I said so to other people so it must be true! Also it works for me, so there is no way it could ever be a better experience, do you even read what you write?
